0:20 Gave you Thumbs-Up immediately. Then resumed and was amazed by the poor execution of the launch. I thought: ahhh, I am too hard on myselef, you are doing it in sandbox, I use kOS in career ;)
You should make a ship like the Hermes from the movie 'The Martian'. Make it so you put a SSTG into orbit then get another thing to meet it, dropping off a ship with fuel, monopropellant or something else like a module with solar panels. Although in the movie they go to Mars, that is way to easy for you, and you should go to the furthest planet and pick up a already landed ship that has not enough fuel to get into orbit, meaning you have to meet it in the middle of the atmosphere. Make the stranded ship make no monopropellant, a small engine and a barely controllable. :) Love the vids man
Tip: dont mount the shields on induvidual decouplers, mount them to 1 decoupler. They will stay as one vessel and the kraken wont break it. You could also just detach them with the engines
I watch both...cuz I like your commentary style :) "liquid pain"...bwa ha ha ha {hack cough wheeze} ha ha ha Great video...loved it I hope you have a great day & be safe.
Matt Lowne , Take2 has changed the EULA. Now mods can be taken by producers to monetize without paying or noticing mod creators. Sure, there might not be immediate apocalypses, but I have a bad feeling about where this can go.
8:41 Any time I try to use multiple inflatable heat shields like this (where they clip through one another) the moment I decouple them from my ship they will regain their Same Vessel Interaction, which causes one of them to get pushed (really fast) back into the ship. Nearly every time this causes the shield to smash into something hard enough to destroy the ship. How is he able to get the shields to just poof out of existence like that?
To solve your heat shield explosion issue you should build a structure under the craft to sustain them all, attached by only one decoupler (plus struts. It shouldn't explode then you decouple the whole structure
I watch both your ksp and rollercoaster videos. Also, the air intakes on your lander, is there an advantage to having them on? Do they make for better aerodynamics? And finally, are you planning any collaboration live streams in the future?
Awesome work! The Delta-V-Map said, it would need 8000 dV to get up from Eve. It was a agony to build my successfull Eve Ascent Vehicle with 8150 dV and refueling ^^ Your Ship only has about 4160 dV and it's success. Excellent work! Thumbs up :)
I don't see the point of a shielded docking port unless for some reason you're landing on Eve without it being blocked by some other heat shield. I've put the regular ports on the very head of a rocket and they're fine on take-off and if I were trying to save them on re-entry I'm confident they're not too fragile for it.
Matt, KSP 1.4.0 came out today. It is awesome!!!!!! Maybe you can like do a vid on it. Oh and I know you hate the old rockomax decoupler, but now, it has a new, much better texture. Have fun with the new version!!!
At 7:30 you mention an Eve atmosphere ceiling at 50 km. Was this OhioBob's Realistic Atmospheres by chance? I thought its ceiling was 55 km with that mod.
Suggestion: launch your landers empty of fuel and use isru to fill them up on eve. It makes your rocket lighter, so the booster and transfer stage can be smaller, which saves on part count
I managed to land and get back Jebediahfrom Eve on KSP Stock and im pretty proud of that. But landing in a exact point or retrieve kerbinauts is beyond my capabilities. It just gave me too much work just to bring back 1 kerbinaut on his own ship.
I shall do what I normally do, and that is to save the music video for when it releases publicly. That way UA-cam thinks it's a separate video? I don't know. Maybe I'll watch it now and then in a few months when it releases I'll watch it again?
Why not rescue someone who's stuck in orbit? (maybe even interplanetary) I'm sure there must be a fair few kerbals who didn't pack enough fuel to make it even half way. Awesome series! Love every single episode!
So, I have a problem with installing mods. I installed several mods and put the correct folders in the GameData folder. When i ran the game without mods it loaded perfectly and with mods it gets stuck on Loading Resources. Pls help...
How many mods have you installed? If its a lot..your computer may not be able too hamdle em all and thats a possible problem, had this once with mods when i tried too load a save from me,deleted some mods it loaded again
TheLenny27 6 mods shouldn't keep the game from loading, maybe some incompatible, spacedock.com has some good mods here and there, they also show the game version
Matt, I challenge you to actually perform the original Blunderbirds. It is quiet the challenge with life support (side-note: kerbalism is the best ). Allows you to make new looking crafts which will provide a whole new set of engineering requirements and also time constraints. Especially if you are getting bored with stock (lets be real, stock is quiet easy)
Danny Zhang THANK YOU 🙏 All those hours of my life spent on trying to do deep space maneuvers were actually spent for the good cause: to find out that they were lost in vain!!!
You should use bigger parts from Making History, or ask help from Dres to handle The Kraken, Dres is the only one strong enough to deal with Kraken, and people are just "Not Kamina enough" when they rely on MechJeb.
What I'm curious about is, instead of setting those inflatable heat shields to be jettisoned one at a time, how come you just didn't use some girders, struts, and a single decoupler to just jettison all the heat shields off as a single unit to bypass the fact the game spazzes out when you decouple a part that's clipping into your vessel.
"whatever liquid manifests on Eve's surface. Pain, liquid pain"
Truer words were never spoken
I read this at the same time he said it

I watch KSP and planet coaster mainly because I love your commentary style and videos
latt mowne lol fake
same here
“Oceans on Eve ar probably made ot of liquid pain” Matt Lowne 2018. lmao
What's even funnier is that the official name of Eve liquid is "Explodium"
Jebidiah Kerman neah
Professor Wylie really?
Professor Wylie and the science units
I first thought he said paint
I think Danny summoned the kraken to break your ship.
This man got me back in to KSP, working on a Major Mun base rn. Thanks Matt!
“Eves atmosphere, yea it’s very thicc”
I recently got back into KSP and boy am I happy that I found your channel. It's all so interesting!
This is EXACTLY what I wanted to see. Iv'e been having so much trouble trying to get them to sea level and back.
no one:
literally not a single soul:
matt: so i'm throttling all the way down to continue throttling up
Great video as always Matt! You've been my guide in KSP for a while now! :D
the result of the OTHER KIDS WITH THEIR MECH JEB TRICKSSS
O wow a heart!
i read this with pumped up kicks in mind
Yo Matt, I'm a planet coaster and kerbal space program consumer. You knock it outta the park with both.

I love watching both your KSP series and your Planet Coaster series!! They're both great!
Matt you should make a series in a planet pack like maybe the after kerbin planet pack for example
TheBlakeson or gameslinx planet pack, adds a frak load of planets just like after kerbin
Tip: dont mount the shields on induvidual decouplers, mount them to 1 decoupler. They will stay as one vessel and the kraken wont break it. You could also just detach them with the engines

Mr.Mattlowne you have done the impossible
As a person who tries to avoid part clipping as much as possible, this was really satisfying to watch.
I think that the only boss on ksp is the kracken. The planets are nothing in comparison
Matt Lowne , Take2 has changed the EULA. Now mods can be taken by producers to monetize without paying or noticing mod creators. Sure, there might not be immediate apocalypses, but I have a bad feeling about where this can go.

Six shalt thou not count, neither countest thou Four, excepting that thou then proceedeth to Five. Seven is right out!
With all that chaos you don’t need to bring a ladder, chaos is a ladder!
That audio edit at 21m was smooth, yo!

Damn this is some engineering... thanks Matt!
5:55
That’s me
14:04 Whats that line on the right? is it like an eve thing,i've never actually landed on eve so idk...
Just a glitch, I think. Totally not a huge alien spire ;)
I watch both planet coaster and ksp because I love your videos and your commentary is amazing

I watch both ksp and planet coaster. Nice work on the cinema
You make amazing videos, but the ultimate final boss in stock KSP would be a single stage to orbit from Eve's ocean :D
Great vid man!👍👍👍
The final boss of KSP would be landing on a secret island on Jool
Hey Matt! Great video! Just one question: why did you have air intakes in the lander? You didn't have any air breathing engine
They create less-drag. Basically, every non-nosecone piece in the game is better at being a nosecone.
Matt Lowne Oh, thanks, I didn't know that. Over more thing, they create less drag when closed, right?
Good timing I’m just sending my first probe to eve not sure if it gonna work but I’m trying
Matt, KSP 1.4.0 came out today. It is awesome!!!!!! Maybe you can like do a vid on it. Oh and I know you hate the old rockomax decoupler, but now, it has a new, much better texture. Have fun with the new version!!!
the wobble on liftoff 0:56 :)
At 7:30 you mention an Eve atmosphere ceiling at 50 km. Was this OhioBob's Realistic Atmospheres by chance? I thought its ceiling was 55 km with that mod.
Just to innovate you could start to bring rovers to the planets and use them to carry the kerbals to your landers
And then we wondered, how long did this take?
24karatCarrot i guess moar than two days.
can you tell me a storytime with latt?
I saw the previous video.
I salute you for keeping on trying to get this thing to land and to take off again. Kerbal physics were not in your favour.
Suggestion: launch your landers empty of fuel and use isru to fill them up on eve. It makes your rocket lighter, so the booster and transfer stage can be smaller, which saves on part count
A way to fix the inflatable heat shields is to connect them together
looks like a nice place to an vacation
Welcome to the black hole's surface 9:21

Even if a single stage lander is impossible, can someone do a one engine one? Maybe have dropping tanks but never drop the engine? Just a thought.
Like a lander to anywhere or eve specifically?
anywhere would be interesting, eve would be a cool challenge though.
@@jameskivenko ua-cam.com/video/_YahbaTJfz8/v-deo.html
question... what was with the jet engine air intakes on the lander/assent vehicle? purly for looks? why not just nose cones?
they create less drag than normal nosecone pieces
Can someone explain why there are intakes all over the lander? I couldn't see any jets or anything and i'm confused
He might have done it because it may be more aerodynamic some how. It doesn't make much sense to me either tbh.
Yeah they create less drag than normal nosecone pieces
Ah I see...so what do nosecones do in ksp now if there are less aerodynamic than a high tech colander?
Why no struts on the first couple stages? Your rocket is like a wet noodle with 10,000,000 horsepower! ^_^
Yep, and I'm from Plymouth where it never normally snows - took us completely by surprise!
Why not rescue someone who's stuck in orbit? (maybe even interplanetary) I'm sure there must be a fair few kerbals who didn't pack enough fuel to make it even half way.
Awesome series! Love every single episode!
Just seems too easy and not as interesting really
This was what you were attempting to do!
So, I have a problem with installing mods.
I installed several mods and put the correct folders in the GameData folder.
When i ran the game without mods it loaded perfectly and with mods it gets stuck on Loading Resources.
Pls help...
All mods are 1.3.1 btw.
How many mods have you installed? If its a lot..your computer may not be able too hamdle em all and thats a possible problem, had this once with mods when i tried too load a save from me,deleted some mods it loaded again
Buruki Kerman
I have like 6 mods, but it worked fine with 3 of them, and my computer is pretty good.
TheLenny27 6 mods shouldn't keep the game from loading, maybe some incompatible, spacedock.com has some good mods here and there, they also show the game version
Buruki Kerman ok, ill try to install and uninstall some mods. See if that helps...
Maybe for blunderbirds you should make a general all planet lander that can save a kerbal from the mun to eve.
I stranded a kerbal on the mun with only the capsule left, does anyone know a good way to rescue the poor kerbal? ;(
I watch the planet coaster series!
Did anyone notice the jump cut at 20:59
Matt, I challenge you to actually perform the original Blunderbirds. It is quiet the challenge with life support (side-note: kerbalism is the best ). Allows you to make new looking crafts which will provide a whole new set of engineering requirements and also time constraints. He says: I not that good a KSP
In my mind: went to Eve, Eleoo, Juna, Lalth, and more, And I can't get a round orbit.
Hey you should consider adding the outer planets mod, you can do it with all stock parts for everything else... adds some variation and challenge
How mutch deltaV (athm) takes from eve surface to orbit ?
You want a challenge? Rescue the stranded craft (or whats left of it) back to Kerbin. Cheers! :)
Beautiful land!
You should definitely recreate the Endurance from Interstellar, it’d be a nice challenge. Maybe take it to Jool or Laythe.
How can you get to eve when I can't even get to the moon
You may have mentioned it, and I might have missed it, but why were there air intakes on the first eve ascent stage??
Could you make an SSTO that uses air breathing and ion engines only? PS I really like your videos btw keep up the good work
Why do u use air intakes as nose cones on the eve lander vector tanks?
less drag than regular nosecones because physics I guess
Because of KSP logic
Solar escape rescue! Solar impact rescue XD
Matt, how do you do atmospheric time warp in vacuum???
Rover 6428Discovery alt + normal time warp keys
Danny Zhang THANK YOU 🙏 All those hours of my life spent on trying to do deep space maneuvers were actually spent for the good cause: to find out that they were lost in vain!!!
Areo capture are actually for pros because atmosphere hot
you need to do a blunderbirds video where you nick the lander with the claw and return it with a big heat shield
good mission
Hi! Nice Video! But can you please make a video about the SpaceX BFR in KSP?
8:09 What is that... ICE?
My very first rocket ended up stranding kerbals in Kerban orbit... I tried so hard to rescue them but I just didn’t have the skill...
what mod is it that shows all that orbit info up top
My docking ports doesn't attract each other so strongly. have you installed any mod for enhance the magnets?
hey matt (fellow englander) have you seen the snow here in england?
there is snow in Pennsylvania too :P
wow cool everyone here in england is calling it THE BEAST FROM THE EAST lol
Lol! more like the beast from the east, and west XD
i know right
yea
Eve's oceans are liquid pain and Laythe's oceans are saline enough not to freeze because they're made of flat-earther tears.
DUDE THAT WAS HAPPENING TO ME YESTERDAY TOO ! 11:00
You've done expedition eve... you've done Duna attacks
I think it's time for Eeloo adventures
Prospecting Pol
You should use bigger parts from Making History, or ask help from Dres to handle The Kraken, Dres is the only one strong enough to deal with Kraken, and people are just "Not Kamina enough" when they rely on MechJeb.
Also my no docking Eve lander was inspired from your Neptune V.
6:10 IT'S MEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!!
Not stock? Got at least Kerbal Engineer, alarm clock and two I haven't seen.
Hey Matt I'm not exactly new to the game, but I'm still learning. How did you manage to put so man vector engines on one booster?
Neo Prime you can simply Hit X a few times and they will multiply it without any additional parts.
ok and you attach them without any snap points you just free attach them? Btw thanks for responding
Hey how did u get that delta v total with kerbal engineer i cant seem to get that?
Max Prins you can configure that in the Engeenier Redux menue
ty
Why the intakes on Eve, less drag?
This is my current contract. My god I don't want to even try this
