Marcus House It will be easier if you plonk a spaceport onto it at least two hundred and five metres high. But Eve has such high gravity you'll need a super sturdy port about the size of a small city.
I'm so happy to have "joined" KSP and its community, too bad I only discovered it after the main 1.0.0 release. Finding KSP, in additon to some other software (like Orbiter, Space Engine...), was a little like a dream becaming true for me, a 16 years old "dummy" with a passion for Space, Astronomy and Aerospace Engineering, in a society where it's hard to focus on these branches. It's great how much inspirational content there is; creative constructions, insane missions or funny messing. I wanted to thank you guys, Matt and MANY others for sharing your awesome creativity with us and, even if obviously not everything is perfect, thanks to you all for being a so lovely and good community! (Also I Apologize for any error...)
Antonio Tiano i played KSP when 1.2.2 released, now i played in 1.0.5 and i am interested to this since grade 7, now i got tylo and pretty much eve, need more challenge like jool 5 but not enough time for planning, now i am 15 and soon 16
Danke ;) I think its more personal wgen I thank him/her (/it xD) in my language. I started playing KSP in the early 1.2.2 days because I was to lazy to search for a game like this amazing piece of work ;)
That is very heartfelt and once I get KSP I cannot wait to truly enter the community. I also feel like it was good they made it a single-player game because I heard bad things about Take-Two and how they are "selfish" (quotes because idk yet if these rumors are true; I haven't played any of their games) and "money hungry." But you can't make much money off of locking an engine or kerbal, no matter how good the engine or well-expierenced the kerbal. I love this game, in the short of it.
Next up in the series: (RAW FOOTAGE) SAVING BILL FROM CORE OF A BLACK HOLE WITH A FORD FIESTA (GONE WRONG) (PHYSICS BROKEN) (KRAKEN CALLED) In all seriousness, nice job my familiar ;D
The atmosphere doesn't end at the Karman Line. The Karman Line is the altitude where the velocity required by a wing to produce enough aerodynamic lift to support a craft is equal to that planets orbital velocity.
Yeah, it was really just a suggestion as a legal altitude for determining when an object is legally in "space" as opposed to in the atmosphere. Or something like that. If the Shuttle were in a 100 km orbit, it would come back to Earth pretty quick. To get significant lift you need well sized wings, and the Shuttle isn't called a flying brick for nothing...
Loving this series Matt! When you reply to the Reddit post saying "I got u fam" you should increasingly make the wording more complicated throughout the series like with what you wrote in this one :)

I've got a challenge for you) Our previous mission left 7 kerbonauts on north pole of Minmus with supplies for only 5 days. You need to pick em up before they're dead and return em to Kerbin. (pick em in under 5 days flight time) Hard: do it with SSTO. Insane: Onboard supplies will run out in another 5 days. (under 10 days total to Minmus and back).
Great video! I love your blunderbirds series ^^ Always glad to know that Jeb will save the day! By the way.... I might have a idea for you if you are interested ^^ Maybe build a space city in orbit around Kerbin or in a crater on the Mun?
I think they pulled it from PSN due to the amount of returns, it has some serioulsy game ruining bugs and glitches. The main one being corrupted save files.
Matt, thanks so much for this post. Using your rocket, I was able to finally rescue Fredney, who'd spent several years on Eve's surface. It took about six tries to reach orbit; I was typically about 300m/s short of getting my periapsis >90k. Quite the ordeal for little Fredney. Cheers!
The Karman line on Earth is 100km, but the Earth atmosphere model Kerbin's atmo is based on ends at 80km. It is then rescaled from 80km to 70km. So Kerbin's Karman line should be at 87.5 km (there is of course no atmosphere there) Kerbin's Kerman line, of course, is the 200 meter long line formed by kerbals trying to get into the Kerbal Space Center.
I accidentally got Jeb, Bob, and Bill stuck on Eve for 60 years. I wanted to do a practice run of an Eve mission in sandbox mode before doing it for real in my career save, and being the "genius" I am, I thought it would be a good idea to practice on hard mode so when I did it in career mode it would be easier. So I made my Eve entry with the 3 Kerbals with no way to revert if anything went wrong, which of course it did. The lander was crippled on impact to the point where it could not even take off. After 2 years real time of iterations, I managed to create a ship derived from this craft with enough power and fuel to get all 3 Kerbals off. I had to add more engines and 3 layers of asparagus staging since the hitchhiker crew cabin is so heavy.
Matt you marvelous maniac! How do you manage to build a ship with so many parts? How do you avoid the Kraken destroying everything in the active physics frame?
Funny thing after getting re addicted to these videos I forgot how to say laboratory the American way. I had to go ask my friend how to say it American way because I got stuck in the British way
I created a separate sandbox file to practice getting to Eve and back without messing up my regular game file and I thought that I would increase the difficulty to the most extreme so that when I go back to the regular game it might be a little easier. Well when I increased the difficulty I stupidly disabled quick loads and Kerbal respawns, so I have yet to be successful and I have sacrificed about 25 brave Kerbals in the process.

I wouldn't mind seeing what kind of wild design would be required for any sort of Venus lander capable of surviving at low altitudes and getting back to orbit.
Um, my Bill is stranded, um........ *how did the is happen?* Uh, I sent Bill way outside the solar system. Do you think you can help him? No srrsly I sent Bill outside the solar system.
Hey lads how are you. Matt just fly a rocket to space with only minimal and smallest parts possible. Also try use the small attachable parts to possibly make it to orbit. I dunno anymore
Enjoy!

Well not everyone’s as good as you. Well tbh i suck and he probably sucks more!
It's how I found out how to do Eve. Trial and error. And lots and lots of save dupping. The game isn't fun to me if I just google all the answers.
If my kerbal was dropkicked out of the solar system at 32 times the speed of light by the kraken, could you save him?
Carter and Hocker Studios no
Yay, Matt likes my comment.
I'm sure Danny could get out there.
Alex Siemers Well, duh.
Uhh, yeah! Yeah! 100% possible! Even I could do that!

Michael Fray thanks for clarifying - I like watching these videos and learning something, whether from the video or comments!
but the karman line on kerbin is around 30 KM. On earth it is 100km
Wait so does that mean if the shuttle were in a 100km orbit it would accelerate outward at 1g due to lift?
Oliver Turner idk try it

I'm so glad that brave Kerbin made it home
Eve is purple, moho's pink. I see kerbals, drinking from the sink.
Very entertaining! Would watch more!
The Karman line on Kerbin would probably be called the Kerman line, since whoever discovered it would had been a Kerman.
I've seen worse problems that left kerbals stranded on eve. Getting stuck in the explodium sea is such a pain.
they just keep getting better...

Tylo because on Eve you can use parachutes

True. I didn't think about that
