Costco is not considered a normal grocery store it is a warehouse where large size and quantity shopping is done.
Regular normal grocery stores are Save-On Foods, Sobey’s Safeway (Sobey’s owns Safeway), Walmart, No frills, Great Canadian Super Store.

The new vocabulary: Yam, basket, deli Department, dairy Department, leafy greens...etc.
    Take care!!

In UAE supermarkets have big shelves in which all items are displayed and fruits & vegetables are kept in separete tables like in Canada and timing of shopping centres are till 12midnight and during Ramadan till early morning 3,30am. I enjoyed your shopping tour

Likewise, in the Dominican Republic the pharmacies are in the supermarket. You can buy a lot medicine over the counter.

Here in America grocery stores can sell beers, wines and champagnes, although there are specialized stores to sell liquor nearby. Here in the south people call the shopping cart buggy.
I like the produce department. Leafy greens are rich in fibers and vitamins and they are good for you. Unfortunately the only vegetable I kids like is broccoli.
I eat one yam or sweet potato per day and it is healthy. It is easy to cook. I just put it in the microwave and cook a few minutes.
In the United States we have Walmart, Kroger, Costco and Sams Club. Some of them are world famous.

In australia we use the name grocery too, grocery is a small store and super market is larger. Ordinarily grocery only sells food and in super market we can buy almost everything. Bottle-o is what we call a liquor store.

yep, cant agree more. Interesting video, and sometimes I felt I can speak about ideology and politics and stuff, but I can't talk about everyday stuff, cause I've never lived there and experienced those things, like you can always talk about trivial things in your everyday life, like how you calculate the yam's price ? from 🇨🇳, Thanks~

Canada is very strict about cleanliness where food is sold to the public (ie. grocery stores, restaurants, etc).
Government inspectors regularly visit these businesses and they are fined (or even closed if it happens too often) if the owners don't respect the regulations.

    hi mark
    great lesson
what does " I been drawin' plans out" mean? in this context:
    Say they want respect now
Thinking they deserve to have it next now
    Tell 'em take an I.O.U
    Leavin' what they makin' up
Talking loud but never really sayin' much
    Tell 'em take an I.O.U
    "I been drawin' plans out"
And they think I'm givin' them a handout
    Tell 'em take an I.O.U
Thinking they're entitled to a piece,
    No, I don't think so
    Tell 'em take an I.O.U
    thank u so much

Don't worry about the audio sound system, we could hear it clearly. In my opinion, if you eat too much ice cream, you will put on a lot of weight. 😅

Well, I still think you're a admirable guy bro, however in all countries the go to shopping is almost the same, one of those issues you got in Canada, is the sun (talking about D vitamin), another thing is not so comfortable is the distance from home to the "SuperMarket" or Grocery Store, well I saw all is far away from home in there, CostCo is around the world, at least in Mexico we have a lot, in every important city have at least 1, many months ago I saw a couple of guys from Texas comparing prices of CostCo in Mexico and CostCo TX, the results was Mexico have cheapest prices in almost all. You know what could be great?, a video about the health system in your country and I know every province have different system, but that information is pretty useful although is not that cheap, here my advice, any dental or expensive procedures is kind useful to know that could be treated in Mexico with a lower price, actually many Gringos come here for it.
    See ya dude, Peace out!

    • @MadEnglishTV

    • @spiderlinux
      @spiderlinux 6 років тому +1

Haha, nice idea, here is the thing, get enough savings in CAD and here in Mexico for sure you can buy your own house by the way here the houses are made it with bricks, pretty safe and the weather is warm almost all the year... look, with 100,000 CAD you can have a nice house, with 30 CAD you can have all meals of day and for 50 CAD you can have a health specialist consult, ooooh and the beers cost is around 1 CAD each, the cigars around 5 CAD all those aprox.
If have some question just ask dude.
Have a nice night and peace out!
