    I can't wait when I don't need to change winter wheel for summer wheels twice a year. That is annoying. On top of that, I have to store the other set somewhere. 😉
    All the steps of buying a used car are more or less the same here in Russia. One thing that makes me happy, though, is a new law. The law allows people to keep their licence plates if people move to live in another region, area, city, etc, and there is no need for a new registration in that case. We also don't have such thing as a yearly registration here, but we have to pay a property tax, which is similar to the one everyone has to pay if they own a flat or a house.

    Hi Mark... Thank you for the informative video. I hope you can help me out with my situation. I'm a new immigrant and I'm looking to buy a car in Edmonton, Alberta. Here is my situation. Im yet to get my Canadian driving licence. It's gonna be a month before Im able to convert my Dubai licence to a Canadian one. However the staff at a registry have informed me that I can drive for three months I'm Edmonton with my Dubai license as it is recognized here.. Also my girlfriend who has been in Alberta for a while, has her Canadian license.. Now to my question. Which of the following do you recommend considering I want a car asap. 1. Buy the car with my Dubai license (is this even allowed) 2. Buy the car and register it under my girlfriends name and drive it myself. 3 wait untill I get my Canadian license before buying a car.

    • @MadEnglishTV
      @MadEnglishTV  6 років тому +4

      Hmm, that's a great question! Do you have any Canadian documents? I think it's legal to buy a car even if you don't have Canadian documents, but the problem is insurance. I'm pretty sure you need a Canadian driver's license to get insurance. I think it would be easier if your girlfriend bought it. Probably the safest way is to just wait till you get your license!

    I am actually really amazed by how well you are explaining the whole process. First of all i want to thank you. And second of all, how do i calculate how much i would pay for a insurance on a specific car? At the moment i am living in germany, but after a while i am planning to live in canada with my wife. As a student i really have to know the expenses of everything but don’t seem to find an answer to the insurance question i have. I would be glad for any kind of help or tips. Thank you all in advance and especially to the maker of the video.

      😃😃All the major banks in Canada sell car insurance. If you just go to their website, you can find the car insurance page and then click on "get a quote". Good luck!

      Mad English TV thank you! I will do it as soon as possible. Again thank you for creating a guideline for people who struggle even more than me with everything.

    Are these cars on Kijiji in Canadian dollars or US dollars

    Tks for your vídeos. But I just have a question. Is not dangerous to make a deal in the private way or kijiji ? because we could meet a bad scammer there. We are new here so we didn’t know how to recognize then.

      You're right. That's a great question! I think the chances of getting scammed are low, but if you can take a Canadian friend with you to buy the car, that would be great!

    In case of a used car, the number plate is already installed on the vehicle. Would I still need a new license plate or can I just transfer the existing license plate on my name?

    • @raf1800
      @raf1800 3 роки тому

      The license plate belongs to owner not to the vehicle. You keep the plates when you sell your car

    Add to Chevrolet !Ford Focus from 2004 cost 500 not 1700 $ . You can't compare Ford Focus with Porsche, Ferrari , Mercedes... ( european cars) :))
