Any modern pc with a decent cpu and the right sourceport will run this map Just fine. Cosmogenesis a map with 75k enemies and Oversaturation with 90k enemies are harder maps to run.

This is a TAS run, it wasn't performed in real time - as for the WAD not working, there are two versions of it so you might be using the HD version instead of the normal one
I honestly don't see why maps like these generate so much popularity. 41k mobs? Seems like a chore. Absurd hordes of mobs, yay - which just turns into "hold down the BFG button." Call me old fashioned.
Lemme help you reconsider your opinion. Yes, thing you say completly right if we speak about maps like a NUTS, a just big room with crazy mob. But maps like we have here had clever level design. It is still Doom - you must be quick and resourseful. But now with BULLET HELL. Check map Profane Promiseland, if you please, it is really a masterpiece on my opinion.
@@PureFPSPwnage oh I never claimed to be a Doom expert. I see maps like this and I see the monster count: yes I love killing lots and lots 'o demons, but again when there's absurd amounts like that it's just too much. Like too much of a good thing which makes the map unenjoyable
@Plaidman86 maps like this are made for a certain caliber of player. That's the beauty of it. It's not completely impossible, as demonstrated by the uploader, but a challenge for those who have mastered the game.
@@PureFPSPwnage It's not even a challenge and it's not fun. You just quicksave/quickload to victory and circle strafe for 3 hours. There's no clever design or gimmick to it. There's not difficult or precise movements. There's no ammo conservation. They can be done well but rarely are. Slaughter maps are just a slog which is why I never want to see more than 2 or 3 in a full 32 map megawad.
Not every TAS has to be frame by frame perfect, prior to this attempt you wouldn't have been able to even watch the full level anywhere, that alone is cool enough!

I wonder what tools were used during the recording of the demo (slow motion, record from to, strafe 50, etc.).
Playstyle looks quite natural (e.g. takes hits), definitely segmented and probably also slow motion to dodge those rockets.
I have to admit, this is some of the best MIDI music I've ever heard.

Seems like that would be very easy to do with dehac. Making something fundamentally overpowered is incredibly easy.

This guy doesn't even try to dodge projectiles. It's irritating to see a just run the map with so much hit it's not even look like a tas anymore
