The intro had some improv in it too where the drynamics are matched for a softish feel. Damn man, he is very good.

Got a Gavin Harrison feel & sound, I dig it.
I suspect that Gavin would accentuate a dotted 8th-note throughout to give a consistent pulse, and avoid the stuttery feel of a 13+11 beat :)

I always thought the snare sound at the end of the song was digitally enhanced! Awesome hearing that sound raw.
I’m not sure how it’s mixed on the album but here I used a microphone in the corridor of my studio to get that huge room sound :)

Moi aussi c'est ma préférée de l'album celle là. Au début j'étais mitigé sur l'album, mais plus je l'écoute, plus je le kiffe. Je le préfère à In the Passing Light of Day.

Man, you make it look way too easy, especially regarding the beginning. Can't wait until Pain of Salvation returns to the Netherlands to play some (but hopefully all, of course) songs of PANTHER, which is the best album PoS has ever released in my opinion.
@Victor Louzada I can understand why you think that. To me, PANTHER just has it all. That's not to say that the others are bad, of course, their latest is just slightly better.

Do you count the 11/16+13/16 pattern? Or do you end up going by vibe? Super fun!

@@LeoMargarit1 Nonsense. These are very easy time signatures. All it takes is just counting them, obviously not verbally LOL, but as any other metre, like 4/4, 6/8, 5/4 or any other.
The 11/16 you feel as a 3/4 missing a 16th note. Wheras a 13/16 is like a 3/4 plus an additional 16th note. Simple as that.
"Going by vibe" is a meaningless notion. You count with the vibe, you could say. Read my other comment. But also:
13/16+11/16 could actually be 12/16+12/16, which is 6/8+6/8 = 6/4
So you can feel it as the most simple 6/4, except for the fact that the second part of the bar will have the upbeat and down beat reversed.

@@amjan man you are referring to the actual PoS drummer ! he plays it by "feel" so wtf ?!!
PS: I am a guitarist who plays drums and I love messing around with odd time signatures. At first I count them if they are hard to memorize but once the "feel" is in I don't count. There is something called the "clave" in classical music which is kind of subdivision simplification of the "vibe" of the song, the clave is what makes the rhythm internal, and to be able to write and compose you need to stop counting and look for melodies and nuances, counting takes much space in your head.
