- Before Dr Halstead makes a decesion that could ruin the results of an drug trial for new medicine. Dr Rhodes Steps in to stop him.
Season 1 Episode 12 "Guilty"
Dr. Halstead continues to deal with the fallout from the lawsuit brought against him by his DNR patient. A police officer tries to stop a DUI driver from being taken to surgery, leading to Maggie being arrested, and Dr. Manning misdiagnoses a mother of child abuse. Meanwhile, Dr. Charles and Reese diagnose a patient with suicidal thoughts and place him on psychological hold.

Rhodes and Halstead had a far more interesting dynamic than Manning and Halstead. The difference in their personalities balance each other so well and allows them to bounce off of each other.
I'm going to miss their friendship, getting rid of Rhodes was a massive mistake.

Can’t lie Connor and will are the same, had complications growing up. They lost both dads. Will had complications with Natalie. Connor had complications with Robin and Eva(even tho she had to leave Connor for her and his own good) and Connor blamed Ava for his dad’s death, which she did kill him but then took her own life

I guess what makes him stand out for me a little is he doesn't let his emotions control him all the time. But then again it is a medical drama😅

But they were already finding clots in her blood vessels, so isn't that enough of an indication to withdraw her (and only her) from the trial? Lots of trials just classify this under "withdrawn due to adverse events" anyway, and it would be good to note the exact details of why.

If Dr. Halstead intervenes he compromises the trial, which would likely result in him losing his physician's license.
Dr. Rhodes is essentially saying that Dr. Halstead's ability to legally practice medicine is of greater concern than the potential death of one of his patients.
@@shade9592 That is not the only consequence. People here only think about the people they see in this episode. A trial includes a lot of sick patients that can potentially die. Compromising the trial would mean that many other patients will die, not only his. It would also mean that a potentially successful treatment will enter the market for the masses much later that it would, would the trial be viable. Not to mention the costs for everyone involved in this trial. Halstead was appalling during this entire episode and in real life such a doctor would lose his license or have to practice in an obscure hospital.
Screwing up a drug trial. Millions of dollars lost and millions of people potentially dead because it would be cancelled
If that trial works, then it could help all the other people with that disease. If he screws with it, then all results are void and don't count

My opinion, even if the patient was on a placebo all contraindicated drugs should be avoided anyway, that way the results are accurate. Doctors arent meant to know if their patient rcvd the drug or not, this would completely destroy the trial

ImmahoeforBTS I l think it’s because the patient is part of a clinical trial. If he told her, since she’s on a placebo and not the actual drug the trial would be compromised and would probably need to be repeated.
i think what @Spanner Head said, and also, if he told her the truth, it would show he was still involved in the case and had used Dr Rhodes code to look at the records (despite the fact he was ordered to stay away from her). I imagine it could've cause the board to take away his license.
Doctors aren’t supposed to know if their patients are on the drug or placebo, so the fact that halstead knew was bad enough. But then to go tell the patient, that compromises the trial and it would cost halstead his license

The severity of pain i've been in and doctors doing nothing time and time again blows me away. I don't take pain killers but even muscle relaxants are so rarely given out these days. DOCTORS ARE GETTING WORSE.
