Spoilers She eventually gets into a relationship with Rhodes, who then later breaks up with her. Turns out she's evil. This pissed her off so much that she engineers the death of Rhodes' father and pins it on Dr Rhodes. When the investigation clears Rhodes, she realizes that the evidence (correctly) points at her and slits her throat in front of Rhodes. His father's and ex's death lead to Rhodes resigning.
As a diagnosed autistic woman, we are fully capable of being supportive, of empathy and emotion. We just tend to be all or nothing and can't regulate when you're going to get which. Spilling a drink could get full explosive emotion whilst a chip pan fire could illicit a blank calm reaction. But many of us feel when others are in pain and can become painfully intuitive about the slightest changes in someone's tone of voice or demeanor.
I remember there was one episode in season 1 where Rhodes really did break down. He was performing heart surgery on a patient who didn't survive. As he passed her parents that night who were in floods of tears, he got in his car and finally lost it, crying like a baby. Shame it's not uploaded here. Amazing moment of acting, and a great reflection on the strain that medical staff sometimes take.
The "blond girl", aka Dr. Becker, becomes a VERY interesting character later on in the episodes and seasons. Also, Dr. Latham and Dr. Rhodes end up having the best bromance ever later on!
That blonde woman must be faking a British accent, because I'm British and I ain't ever heard anybody talk like that. She's going too deep, definitely an American faking the accent. Sorry, just thought I'd say. Haha! No hate at all xxx

you know for a show set around people getting sick and diseases there is a very high amount of societal problems being the cause. a company selling faulty products resulting in a man possibly being hooked up to a machine for the rest of his life. the doctors being overworked to the point of making dire mistakes. child services being so appalling children would prefer to live on the streets the list goes on
Having worked at an aortic device manufacturing company, I can see how this would happen. It also doubles the price of medical devices, though, if you require information based on clinical trials.
