I have very fine thin hair and was having a hit or miss with keeping the pony-o in place all day, until I realized I need to squeeze the center tight and hold the center tight until both sides are bent in and squeezed tight. If I do that trick it will stay for hours, even through a workout. I’m glad I didn’t give up on this, now it’s one of my favs, and I almost gave it away.
Good luck ladies! 🥰
Same here!
It's really hard to gauge the product from your review as you were using it incorrectly & didn't follow the instructions which state to use your thumb and index finger only, then to properly tighten it and secure it in place (also something you failed to do). In your video, you just pinched the sides, but neglected to push them together and tighten the pony-o properly.
Absolutely agree 100%
I love these! They work great for my fine, thick, wavy hair. A bonus - it doesn't pull out my hair when removing.
I have extremely thick and heavy hair. I got the pony-o XL which is for thick hair, and a bun bar. I was expecting a struggle since I've never been able to use any of these magic fix hair thingies or any kind of bun creator. I'm actually really pleased with it. This is the first device I have been able to use to keep my hair up without feeling the weight of my hair. And I can get a nice bun in a couple mins. It does slip a bit throughout the day and I ended up redoing it around 4 pm, but i'm also a hair perfectionist who can't stop messing w my hair if it's not right. I love that I don't have to use any pins for a bun. Overall I'm glad I bought it!
I agree 100% about the fly away situation! Makes my hair look sloppy, i have fine hair and it looks worse like that! The only plus side for me, was my head didn’t hurt when wearing it. But i won't wear it outside of my house!
Even if these do work for some I still think it’s a rip off. I wish I remembered the UA-camr who taught me this but you can get the same effect by simply sticking a bobby pin through your hair tie. It works every time and it’s invisible :P
Haha I came here thinking this was a movie review of Ponyo by Miyazaki
Yes
me tooooo!!!! lol
I just got mine and I like them. Learning curve, yes, but Ive never gotten the height like this from another...
I was hesitant, myself, because I have long & fairly thick hair (slightly wavy). But this chick obviously didn't watch or read the quick how-to's -- of course you can't stuff your hand through it; it's not elastic! My hair is too much for the bun bar, so that was a semi-waste for me (unless I do a half-up bun), but I love the pony-o band. Because my hair is so long, I do need to flip over and let gravity help (also purchased the XL version). But I love this thing and have used it so much since purchasing it (wearing it now, too!), and I love the cute height I can get (with elastic bands, my hair is just so heavy, even with the bobby pin trick). I don't get headaches after wearing it all day, it stays put, it's faster for me to put my hair up than elastic bands (again, lots of hair!), and it doesn't rip my hair out!
They have an XL version for thick hair. I got mine today and have very long but fine hair, and it so far works better at holding up my ponytail than bands.
Oh I hope it works for me! I have long fine hair as well and want the 80’s high pony!
I'm with you. I sleep in mine and it stays in place. Not to mention these will last way longer than my normal hair ties that break.
does it cause breakage to your hair like a regular tie does?
@@liasignaevskaia6576 It hasn't caused any breakage in my hair. I absolutely love the Pony-Os but I will say that I've had the bun bar get stuck in my hair. I'm not sure if that's typical or if it's something my daughter did when she was using it.
Yes they do and she obviously hasn't read the instructions about putting it in. Clearly says finger and a thumb to pull hair through.
I love mine, they are great if you are prone to hair tie headaches.
You just saved me $19.91. Thank you for your honest review.
She's using it wrong. You'll come out better watching the HOW TO video on the website.
Honestly if the instructions are followed properly. You can't treat this like a normal hair tie. You can't fit all your fingers into it especially if you've got mildly chubby fingers like I do.
The instructions say do you use your thumb and index finger to pull your hair through.
It works if you do it properly: ua-cam.com/video/BkhGDjtWINE/v-deo.html
No, I love mine so much I just ordered 8 more. If you’re use it right, you’ll love it.
It definitely works but unfortunately she isn't doing it correctly. I love mine. Best invention ever. Works great with a lot or little hair. Watch the actual tutorials of Pony-O.
Sorry I know I'm super late to this conversation but I just wanted to suggest putting your hair in a regular ponytail first with an elastic and then sliding on the pony-o and squishing it flat and then removing the regular hair elastic and then bending the edges back. 😃💖
I don't understand. If you do that, what's the benefit of the pony-o? I saw people saying it won't pull your hair like other ties. Won't you be pulling your hair then? Lol
@@ItsBinhRepaired I mean personally I don't rip my hair out so that's a non-issue. You could also use those little clear elastics and once the pony-o is on and secured you could just cut that off, using nail scissors. 😃
It's Binh Repaired I don’t think it’s supposed to replace a regular hair tie but change the effect of a hair tie (an added accessory). You put a hair tie in then bend the pony-o and put it around your hair (not put your hair through it).
That’s how I saw the demo video too!
@@ItsBinhRepaired I've also seen reviews where people say it does pull on you hair like other hair ties do. So... who knows!
I have thick hair and it just sags back down. I really wish it worked 😅
I've had my pony O for a week now I will never go back to hair ties. It does take several tries to get it down right at first but it's worth the effort. No more hair being pulled out everytime I take my hair down.
Omg I wish I would’ve seen this before buying it. I came on UA-cam to see if anyone was saying the bs that these things are. I would not have bought it had I know about it. Now that I’ve been searching, I’ve been finding way better options with REGULAR hair ties. You’ve earned a subscriber in me for the honesty. I don’t see that on UA-cam since everyone is most likely making ads for pay basically
If you purchased and don't like it, would you be willing to sell it second hand?
Michelle Shippert That’s a good idea. That way you can try it and maybe the original buyer would get better use of selling it half price than never using it again. 👍👍
You can return for a 30 day back money guarantee
I absolutely love mine. I admit it took me a second to get the hang of it but now I do I'm extremely happy with them. I just put on my fourth order.
They literally offered me money to change my negative review for a good one. After I refused, they removed my negative review and blocked me. Later I noticed that they only allow positive reviews (probably all paid)
I’m curious as to what it is constructed of, in case we wanted to DIY one.
I'm 54 with extremely thick hair and I use 2 covered band's first then I pull it through the pony o and pinch it and I wear it high. It really worked. I woke up next day and it was still in place. People are using them wrong.
I agree with it sliding. I was doing some jogging and within 3 to 5 mins, it was sliding and I couldnt pull it up like a regular pony. I would have to stop and put it back in the right way which means pausing the workout...
I just received mine and this is one of the best products I have ever really used. My hair is medium, pin straight but I have a lot of hair and it's really dense. This stays in my hair really well but doesn't leave me with my hair pulling and a huge headache after. Usually hair ties hold but are too tight or are looser and more comfortable but don't hold as well.
If you follow instructions you'd know to put it over your thumb and index finger to grab your hair through...
Also it helps against hair breakage unlike regular hair ties. So soon fly always would hardly be a thing
I bought these things and the bun bar. I planned on using one for my daughters hair but after she decided to rip it out of her hair rather than let me take it out it got really mangled and twisted inside out. I had to untwist it and it pretty much doesn’t work the same now. Wouldn’t recommend it for kids, my daughter is 8 btw so it’s not like I put it in a 2 yr olds hair and expected her not to mess with it. Given how expensive they are, I learned my lesson. The bun bar has a serious learning curve. My hair is almost to my butt, I’m seriously convinced it was only designed to hold mid length hair or shorter.
I love my pony-o. It just looks like the negative results are intended. You just need to press it flat really well and bend the ends tightly. I work 14hrs per day and my ponyo stays in place. I do have fine sleek hair
I agree! I think it’s decent but I definitely want to try styling my hair and do the half and half. I also feel like it will work more with creating a messy cute look rather then sleek and clean. Lol but that was a nice quick video
I have extremely thick long hair and I’ve been curious about this. The one problem I have with a high ponytail is that my hair weighs it down... The ads have had me close to pulling the trigger.... thank you for this video... I’ll save my money 💰!
Girl, get the XL! BEST MONEY SPENT! I have your hair and the weight does pull a high pony down down but NOT with this thing! Swear! I live with it almost daily. Got the skinny small one for the end of a braid but for a high pony, this is the ONLY thing that keeps it up and tight and high! I’ve wasted a ton of money and I only bought it cuz my mom had the small one and I “borrowed” it for a half up high pony cuz it would not hold ALL my hair! The small held my half high pony all friggin DAY! No budging and no headache! No pulling baby hairs or any hair out! This is a crap vid to make a decision on. I’d say get one and if u hate it, I’ll buy it! Buuuutttt.....I’m told they have a 100% return unhappiness claim. Nothing to lose but overheating in summer without one!
I’ve grabbed a few more reg skinny ones for making a faux pony which looks so cool. Start with a top high pony but instead of straight up, flatten to head, go down a few inches, add more hair and do the same to get 3-4 ponies down back of head and they DO NOT MOVE! Color of it matches my hair exactly so people think it’s my hair wrapped around it, which I could do but why waste the time when it matches. Any way, spend the money. Get the bundle with the XL in ur color. U won’t be sorry! I’m not and I send everything back if it’s not 150% happy time! This is def 180% happy time!! Promise!!
I have thick, long hair, and it doesn't work for me.
I have long hair and it just falls out
“First con is that there is a learning curve.” That is the most American thing I have ever heard 🙄
This hair tie dosen't really work for me. Dosen't stay tight in my hair. I feel you. It starts to fall out of my when I move around. I have super thick hair and got the XL and it still dosen't stay tight in my hair crazy. I really thought this product would work.
Okay same. I have thick hair... and I just opted for the regular. I tried a couple times but just not in love.
I've got thick hair. I'm not having any issues.
I have thick hair and tape in extensions and love my pony-o, you have to get used to it and can’t split the hair to tighten it. You also should be using your thumb and pointer finger to put your hair through the loop.
This video literally made me laugh out loud. There are dozens of videos, descriptions, pictures of how to use this product. I don't think you can actually buy it without at least accidentally see that you supposed to use only 2 fingers when threading the hair through, yet this girl tried to shove at least 4 fingers in the hole.
Seriously!! That was the main thing I saw. I got it first try because I paid attention to what they said.
YES!!! EXACTLY She's completely bashing these when she didn't even bother to use them correctly. I think some people automatically look for the negative in things.
Four fingers in da where
I got my Pony-O yesterday and love it. I have medium to thick hair and it was very simple for me to use. With regular hair ties my hair was always pulled and I could never get any volume on the crown of my head, even if I tried to pull some partly out. With the Pony-o I can quickly put it on then pull out at the crown and get some instant volume. No creases in my hair and it stayed put all day. I WILL say though that I’m pretty disappointed in the Bun-Barz. I can’t seem to get that contraption to work yet but I’m going to practice more.
I have been using my Pony 0s for over a year and I LOVE THEM! The hold my hair all day and they don't tare and thin my pony tail area like the old bands were doing. This young lady is having a bit of difficultly learning how to use her fingers to pull her hair through. My oldest color is almost a year and half old. They will last and hard to loose.
I love Pony-O. My hair is thick and heavy and I use it a lot! It hold’s during workouts and all day in hair styles. I also love, love the bun bar! I have less hair breakage with pony-o than with regular hair bands.
So glad it worked for you!
How?? Are there any tricks? I have long hair and it just falls out while I'm standing still
I have used pony O for like 2 days. I have very long hair. I was not satisfied. If would constantly fall out and not keep its hold, just running down the stairs it would fall out. If any is looking for a better hair tie try Pro Hair Tie. They are the best things ever! Thick, thin, whatever, and your hair stays in place! And doesn't damage it either!
I was really hoping it'd work for me, but my very thick curly long hair is too heavy for it. It's impossible to get a high pony tail like the models in the ads. My ponys end up looking droopy, just like it does with regular hair ties. Same issue with the Bun Bar. It does make a great bun, but also droops. Plus the bar is too long, so the ends overlap, making it akward & heavy. Great concept, but seems like you have to have a certain hair type for it to work well.
Did you ever check out the instruction video? 🤣 It shows you EXACTLY how to do it properly. JMO
I love this thing, mine came in the mail today. I have newly short, barely touches my shoulder, length hair. My short hair, by the nape of my neck, pop out with elastic hair ties. This thing keeps all my hair in a pony. (a low pony) I'll try a high pony when I sleep. Tricia not tom
I wish I would have looked up video reviews about this product before I bought it, because I have the same cons you came out with.
I feel like I fell into the hype
It’s like every other hair gadget that has came out before it falls into the Category of “just another hair gadget out they’re supposed to make everything easy”
I also purchased the bun accessory because I really liked the bun looked they showed in their videos and my hair is all one length but for some reason, I don’t know why, but it’s not when it’s in a ponytail, weird I know. and so when I was making the bun it made it that much harder because I had hair falling out as I was rolling the bun accessory on and it took me about five times and I think now I kind of got it but I still need to stick bobby pins in my hair to hold the rest of the hairs that didn’t stay up. And you really need to squish the bun accessory so it can hold together
I feel like I sorta wasted $20 🤦🏻♀️😆😶🤷🏻♀️
I had the same thought. The product was expensive, I've already lost one of them, it doesn't hold my hair up as good as it claimed it will, and I get annoyed everytime I try to put my hair into the tie (though if you fold your hair it becomes easier to do so).
Pros:
No headache from tying my hair too tight? not that I get that, but I felt it was better.
You can tie it more easily in the direction that you want. (It does kinda look better, but it will be hard to readjust when you are out and about)
I absolutely love mine. I have long thick hair and chronic migraines and this holds my hair tightly in place . It's actually quite easy to put up if you give it more than a few minutes. I had trouble at first because I'm used to putting my whole hand through a hair tie. You pull all your hair up and only use two fingers to thread your hair through. This is the first summer I didn't have to wack all my hair off thanks to Pony-O. Do becarful because there are many knock offs out there.
I have super heavy, thick, and long hair. I got the largest size and they do work once you get the technique down. You have to use 2 fingers, I found that brushing my hair upside down and putting the pony tail in on the top of my head works best.
You don’t think your hair is thick? The only thing that gives me volume is the fact that I have naturally curly hair! If I straighten my hair, flat flat flat! But glad to see this review on Pony-O cause I’ve had this item added to my cart for days now and can’t decide. Good video!
I have these. They work for me. I like them if my hair is wet or slightly damp. Since they are waterproof you don't get that weird spongy wet hair tie feeling in your hair.
I love this product, I wear it every day, mine does not move or barge till I go take it off 💕💕
I agree. I absolutely love mine. I wear it everyday and my head doesn't hurt and my ponytail looks so perky and cute!
I dont think she bent it in like she was supposed to.
I agree. I’ve only had a couple hours but as I put in my comment before reading this I feel she deliberately did this •¢σѕ o price. Don’t like it fair enough but to trash it like she does I feel is unjustified. Even tho she says she isn’t. Yes it’s expensive. I’m disabled and couldn’t afford it and I need but can’t afford another one and a bun one but it suits me insofar as it’s helping me due to disability
Tanya Vallejo I agree I didn’t see her really push in so her strands came loose as she said so it would have sagged straight away and looked loose from get go
...mines really tight even after couple hours
She's being honest and she's not the only youtuber who was disappointed with this product.
Thanks, I was gonna try one cause I have long thick hair + I'd love to find something to put my hair up like that but I guess no such luck
I was hesitant, myself, because I also have long thick hair. But this chick obviously didn't watch or read the quick how-to's -- of course you can't stuff your hand through it; it's not elastic! My hair is too much for the bun bar, so that was a waste for me (unless I do a half-up bun), but I love the pony-o band. Because my hair is so long, I do need to flip over and let gravity help. But I love this thing and have used it so much since purchasing it (wearing it now, too!). I don't get headaches after wearing it all day, it stays put, and it doesn't rip my hair out!
I have thinner hair and it doesnt hold up with my hair... the bun bar however is awesome
I have long, kinda thick hair and it looks cute when I put it in but it doesn't last half a day.
Yes I agree too. I know it seems when moving around it doesn’t stay at all but Are you having the problem where you put your hair up in a high pony and without even doing anything (no exercising or moving around) and within a few minutes (if that) it falls and basically feels like its barely holding your hairstyle at all, To the point where it feels like using a regular hair tie is the better solution...? Cuz that’s where I’m at. I bought this product to be able to put my hair in a high pony tail easier cuz sometimes hair ties don’t seem to hold a higher pony for me. I have thin hair but it’s super long down to my right above my butt and I really thought this product would help me get thicker higher pony tails...it may let me get my hair up higher then a regular high tie but it just can’t seem to hold it to the height I put it in at. It’s super frustrating. Your review was honest and amazingly accurate. I wish I woulda seen this before I purchased it.
Agree same thing with me. My inexpensive stretchy tie is way better.
Try Pro Hair tie! I have super long hair too and it is a game changer! Less damaging, easy to take off with wet or dry, curly or strait hair, and its just as versatile as a normal hair tie. They will hold my messy bun in place all day!!
WhiteFlame564 okay yeah I’ll deff have to try them
I always have an issue with my hair as it's incredibly thick and it gets worse when it gets longer. Believe me I know so much about this because of all of this virus stuff. So dealing with my hair is not easy when it's past my shoulders. I'm not seeing any issues right now. I have the XL Pony-O 2.0
I also bought a classic version of the same one for my husband. I will admit we do lose hair ties often, but I've got ways of not losing this. Plus it came with a bag.
With how thick my hair is, hair ties or a nightmare especially when they get older and when they snap.
I have baby fine thin hair and I cannot get this to work. The fly away issue for sure which really bugs me but worse than I guess because it’s rubbery and heavier than the usual hair tie, it pulls my hair painfully (which normal hair ties do not) Even with pain, even with massive squeezing, it falls out before I leave the mirror. But at least I got it in I guess. I got the bun bar too, it was even worse. I can’t even get it in my hair. Big fail. I’ve had them for years and have hung onto them for some reason as though one day the texture of my hair would change or I would figure these out. Sadly no….
What is the material? It looks kind of like silicone, doesn’t that add a lot of resistance/break your hair as you try to get it through the hole/pull it out? I like to tighten/shape my pony by pulling two pieces to hike the ponytail holder up on my crown, if the pony o is silicone, I don’t think I’d be able to do that
Sarah Katherine Barnes it is kind of a silicone material, so yeah I think you wouldn’t like it for pulling pieces :(
It is a rubbery material but it doesn't pull your hair. It's kind of amazing actually because it stays secure without tugging at all. I'm a hairdresser and makeup artist so I have a lot of experience in beauty (13 years full time) and it gives me WAY less breakage and way better hold. It's kind of overpriced and seems simple but it gives you adorable shape and volume and hold. I did a review if you want to check out a two hairstyles with it.
I can't imagine this will do anything for my thicker, heavier hair. Thanks for the review.
Thank you for the review, you answered all my questions I was second-guessing whether or not to buy it as well price of this product did get me I would rather buy elastic hair ties.
I know some people really love it and that’s great, but I just didn’t find that it was better than my other hair ties. I do have a video coming out today at 2 pm EST about the Gimme Beauty hair ties, have you heard of those? I liked them WAY better but they’re more of a traditional band than these.
I just got mine in the mail. Slides right out of my hair. I'm super disappointed because I spent $40 with the exchange. I also got the bun roller and I don't even have thick enough hair to cover it. It sucks!
Bummer! I know, I was really hoping I would like it but it just didn’t work for me :(
I have super thick, heavy hair that goes down to my butt and I didn't have a problem putting it on, in a high ponytail. It's holding up really well. I just used my thumb and index finger to pull my hair through.
Do you use a detangling comb
...if you watched any of the instructions, they show you exactly how to put it in and specifically say to only put your thumb and forefinger through the ponyo. They also sell XL rings for thick hair. You didn't say one good thing about this lol but you also clearly didn't watch any of the instructions from the company 🤷🏻♀️
Well I have shoulder length fine, wavy / curly hair and although the Pony o stayed in my hair ok, it just didn’t look very good as I don’t have enough hair to make it look right 🤷🏼♀️. Wish their was a different size for thin hair as it cost $30 AUD for 2
I think they made a larger version, or at least that’s what someone else commented, so maybe they’ll have a smaller one soon.
Thank you for this video. This is the kind of review I was looking for. The models in the ads all have thick and/or curly hair. Or it looks like they styled to add volume before using the pony o. My hair is fine and pretty much exactly like yours, but a little shorter. And apparently, when you're finally able to do it correctly, it just looks like a regular ponytail. Oh well. At least you saved me $20 lol.
I have thick, semi-curly hair, and it didn't work well for me either.
Can tell this is 2 years old. This product is amazing and the xl for thicker hair is awesome it does stay if bended correctly and the price is no difference than a nice clip you just don’t care about losing normal hair ties so this is more of one to put back after done to store it.
I love mine, and have very thick hair.
I used the pony o while packing to move. It fell down to the nape of my neck twice. The bad thing about it is that you can't feel that. It still feels in place, yet it falls down. Looks terrible at that point. My stretchy Goody brand hair tie stays put all day.
Pony O is not what they claim.
Maybe there should be different sizes for different hair circumfences. I have problems with normal hair ties for with two rounds it is too loose and for three rounds it is too tight. Normal hair ties are all sized for circumfences of 7-8 cm but I have more.
Star Wars Sudooku I agree! I have fine, wavy / curly hair and it just didn’t look any good in my hair. They need one for fine hair too
I was literally just about to check out my cart on Pony O website! I’m so glad I decided to come to UA-cam first and look up reviews! Your the first video to pop up & even with 3 mins I don’t need to see no more! Thanks for saving me money!!!!!! I love you for that 😂💜
Same here so glad I ckd out youtube before getting it especially cuz I have long thick hair and was wondering how the heck it would stay
Same here 😑😪
I have fine hair but a lot of it and I absolutely LOVE the Pony-O. It holds up once you understand how to properly use it. I was loosing too much hair where I used to use buggies for my pony tails. After using the Pony-Os for over a year that spot is growing new hair! Yay!
I wouldn't decide based on this review. She wasn't following the instructions for how to put it on. You're specifically Not supposed to use a bunch of fingers to pull it through, etc.
Check out their site before giving up on them.
I took advantage of their recent $3 sale, so looking forward to their delivery.
I've had Pony-o, before.. I just lost it eventually lol
I have hair down to my waist and I love it but there is a small learning curve. If it is sliding out of your hair you are prob doing it wrong. Look at a few reviews before making your mind up.
Doesn't work for thick hair I bought all sizes and it doesn't hold at all. 🙄
Ugh that stinks!
Same.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!! so glad i watched your video. I am am an older lady with awful arthritis in my little fingers and thinning hair. there is No Way Jose😋 i could get this to hold in my hair. i think I will just stick to my schrunchies 😘
If you use the directions, you can use it right the first time. Also, they make ones for thick hair. I STRONGLY suggest looking at their suggestions on how to use it because a lot of your frustrations would have been cured.
Its sucks for long, thick hair. I first just bought the regular ones. They didn't work so I bought the larger ones thinking it was me. Nope. Turns out they just don't work for my hair which is annoying because they say it works. Dont waste your money peeps. Cant believe I fell for it.
Great review and video Melissa.
That's so crazy your experience was so negative! My suggestion is to not try and "push" your hair throught it. I've been using mine for over a year now. I absolutely love mine. If you grab the hair with your thumb and index finger, it really isn't that tough to get your hair through. Also, regarding the cost: I have only used this same Pony-O for a year so its saved me a ton of money on hair ties. It never loses its strength. I put mine in in the morning and never have to touch it again until I take it out at the end of the day. My hair goes down to my waist. I also workout in it and never adjust it, not even once during the day. I honestly cannot say enough great things about the Pony-O.
Your hair must be super thin then. I can’t get my hair to stay up in it at all. It falls straight out and I followed the instructions to a T. I’m a cosmetologist and I see these working with thin and maybe fine hair.
The funny thing is I have super thin hair and struggled. I was thinking I needed thicker hair! It’s definitely a learning curve.
I have really thick hair and likes to put my hair up in a ponytail a lot so thanks for being honest and testing this out! Almost bought three from targeted FB ads! 🤣
I wouldn't decide based on this review. She wasn't
following the instructions for how to put it on. You're
specifically Not supposed to use a bunch offingers to
pull it through, etc.
Check out their site before giving up on them.
I took advantage oftheir recent $3 sale, so looking
forward to their delivery.
I've had Pony-o, before.. I just lost it eventually lol
I bought this product and just to let you no it stays in your hair very well. And it works very well. I'm just some random person too.
I love you for being honest bc I made the mistake of buying 4 and at the end of my weight lifting gym session, it was off my hair and that's just annoying. DO NOT BUY THIS its not worth the money at all
I wish I would've watched this before purchasing! I got too excited and ordered it and I'm having the same issues you did. Thank you!
Try following the instructions for the pony-o. The methods used in this video doesn't do that, which caused her to have a hard time. The pony-o channel has dozens of instructional videos, so hopefully that helps :)
I bought them myself, unfortunately I was disappointed too! I bought the thin and thick PonyO also the bun bar and the hair decoration hair accessory. The hair accessory would just slide off of my ponytail and it said to widen the PonyO then my ponytail would be looser. And besides my hair didn’t feel secure. Big Bummer!!! I was so excited to get these only to be disappointed. Returning them ASAP to get my 50 bucks back 😩
I have thick hair, I have watched all the Pony O videos and whilst I have no trouble in getting my hair through the band it definitely slips. I even used pliers to try to tighten it (just as an experiment) and it still slipped. Unless you literally have it on the topof your head it slips. It’s not a bad product but its not revolutionary as claimed by a long way
I absolutely adore my pony-0's and my bun bar. They don't claim that there isn't going to be a learning curve with it. Just give them time. They actually do stay in. They also suggest that you get the larger XL Pony-0. And in no way am i trying to come against you or argue I'm just stating my opinion of them. Like any other product that you aren't used to it takes time and these pony-0's have helped stop a tremendous amount of damage . i do hope you give them another try as yoi have beautiful hair and wouldn't want to see it ruined by a rubber band.❤
Use a hair tie and use the pony o just for the perkiness.
You’re hair is like mine. We have a lot but it’s very fine. I was actually considering buying this, but after watching this I think I’ll just stick to my normal hair ties.
I hate mine. I have thick, curly hair.
Never “learned” to use TWO fingers. Or knew what she was buying....
You just saved my pockets! Thank you girlie 💜
Thank you! I've been so tempted to buy these, but seeing you struggle I'm not going to spend the money.
I was bummed it didn’t work, I had high hopes. I did just buy the Gimme Beauty hair ties so I’ll be trying those out and will have a video soon. Fingers crossed they work better!
Linda it's portrayed to be much more difficult than it has to be or really is. Buy it and form your own opinion.
Thank you! After seeing the advertisement, I wanted to buy every color /style! They are expensive...
My slippery hair could never
Very nice video I'm a boy and I have long wavy hair and I would like to do this nice flexible rubber band also ponytail could I ask there is a Pink?
Totally agree with you. Totally not worth the money. I have thin hair after giving birth to my daughter and didn’t do any favour to my hair. So regretting buying it.
There are two sizes.
The one you got is small.
You need the bigger one, lol
Each to its own. I respect your reviews. It worked fantastic for me :)
I don't understand the difficulty you had with putting these in your hair. The videos advise using your index finger and thumb-- which you did not use. It was not remotely a problem for me and I am not adept at using hair accessories. I have fine hair and have found these to be great. There are some hairstyles I cannot use them for-- like a braid-- because they are too big for the skinny size of braid my fine hair creates. And I wish they had a kid's size-- their claim that their slim size fits kids' hair is not valid. I haven't had an issue with the fly-aways, either and that may have something to do with the way you put your hair through? Lastly, I do find that if you want it to stay in during a workout, you need to have a higher pony-- putting it at mid-height doesn't overcome the gravity and movement. Maybe, like many hair accessories, not every accessory works for every type of hair?
Whether my hair is curly or pin straight, that crap doesn’t work and falls off. And EVEN LESS if I’m at the gym. Very unreliable. And YES I did follow the stupid instructions
I use mine everyday too! I love it so much! I have waist length hair and I do hard jumping, hour-long workouts like kickboxing and burpees and step. It never falls out. I love it so much.
It works great for me but my hair is thin and fine. Held in place for a 12 hour shift- for me it works better than an elastic hair tie- also I didn’t have any problems getting my hair through it- but my hair is so thin fine shoulder length. Definitely NOT for thick hair.
Thank you for your honest review!!
I just got mine and overall - 100% agree with your review.
The first time I used it, it worked great! But it will not hold in my hair now. Frustrating.
Glad you made this! They seemed to have lowered the price, as two are less than $13.50 (without shipping). Still, to spend $15+ total, for two (because I’m not sure which one would work) just to hate it would be such a waste of money! (Especially now. Maybe pre-covid 19 I would’ve just bought, but in the midst of the pandemic every penny counts, and I’m doing my research!)
Appreciate your video! Thank you for saving me hard earned money that I really shouldn’t be spending right now on a “roll of the dice” hair accessory! 🙏
Thanks and you’re welcome! I know some people love it, I just didn’t unfortunately :( I did just make a video about the Gimme Beauty hair ties and I’ll be posting that next week, be on the lookout for that, hint: I liked them better :)
I have thick hair got the XL and can't fit into my hair no matter how I try it looks ridiculous!
Was gonna buy this... thanks for the review
Everything you said was spot on!! 👍🏻
thank you for this. I almost bit the bullet
I really wanted to like it, I know it works for some but I just couldn’t get the hand of it. Have you seen the Gimme Beauty hair ties? I just bought them and will have a video soon. Hopefully they work better!
So far it only works in a low pony for me. It slips out after a while. Very long but fine hair. 🤷♀️
I have really thin hair and this didn’t work AT ALL! It slid down instantly. Really bummed I spent money on it.
Did you purchase your ponyO from amazon or the actual company?
I just got my order this week, I have extremely thick hair and I LOVE IT! I honestly think you just need to work with it more, 3 times with a beauty tool is not enough to be proficient
I would be more than willing to purchase these off of you. They work great for me. Let me know if you are willing to part with them since you don't care for it :).
I love my pony o . I have thick hair it works great no . I think this product works best for thick hair.
