    This has been one of my most requested videos! So here it is: a review on the pony-o! A ponytail has to be the most worn hairstyle… well ever. So today I am going to let you guys know what I think of a product that claims to enhance, secure, and protect your pony tail! I just chopped my hair again so ironically my hair doesn’t even fit into a full ponytail. I will be showing you a half up half down version, while my sister tries out a full pony with her long thick hair. Hope you guys enjoy it!! Let me know in the comments below what you think if you’ve tried out the pony o!

    I've tried this. I have soft, silky hair and the classic Pony-O slips off after a few minutes. For those saying that their hair is too thick or too thin for this, I don't think thickness matters. It's the texture of the hair that matters. I think courser hair texture will have more success with this.

      I do think thickness matters a bit. I have super thick, coarse hair. I think my hair is just to heavy for the ponyo to hold securely.

    • @ACWells13
      @ACWells13 4 роки тому +7

      Ah- I have incredibly thick and heavy, but very silky smooth hair. I was dubious that this would hold, and it certainly sounds like it'll just sag and slide. Thank you Jasmina, this is super helpful!

      Watching this video as well, I have to have my ponytail elastic on 4 loops otherwise it just slides out!

    • @Elena-gv5wi
      @Elena-gv5wi 4 роки тому

      Thank you for the input! For reference on the amount of hair that I have, I need three loops for my ponytail to have a tight hold on it. When the Pony-O was in my hair it felt like it didn't have any grip to it. I can see that being an even bigger problem for people with thin, so I thought a heavier/coarse hair type might have better luck. But it appears that this product may just be a gimmick.

    I have long, thick, slick hair myself and my favorite way to secure my hair while running or doing anything high intensity is using spin pins. I either do a bun with three spin pins and ensuring all three of them hit both the outside of the bun and catches in the "inside" hair as an anchor. If I also want to have an aesthetically pleasing hairdo while running (say during a paid race where you get photos taken), I do a french braid, tuck it all under, and then use 4 spin pins to hold in place. Nothing else except this seems to work as beautifully!

      I have a Pony-O, and I think it's much more gentle on your hair than a traditional tie. It does take a little time to put it up, but it's pretty good once it's done. My hair now is probably 30" long, and I don't get headaches when I use it. It's also nice to have a perky ponytail for once, since the weight usually pulls them down!

    It works GREAT!! Did take me a couple of tries to get it "right" (hair pulling, bumps, ect.) but once I did it has been amazing. I'm a carpenter so my head of hair goes through hell in a day. I was loosing my hair from such tight rubber band ponies and I can loosely have the pony-o not ripping my hair out daily.

    May I suggest using a silk scrunchy when you are at home. It pulls less, causing less breakage and creases. It’s probably not as tight. But better for your hair in the long term.

    I have long hair and one thing I do is make a pony with all of my hair except for the front where it tugs and breaks, then I either put the front in on the very last loop or with another hair tie. There is probably still some breakage but it makes it a lot more comfortable on my hairline.

    I might get this. I have tension alopecia from wearing my hair in a pony 98 percent of the time. I have had to wear ponies for work it is awful. I have switched to the invisibobble in a effort to help but I cant get them tight enough.

    Honestly when I buy 20 ouchless elastics for about six dollars and they last a couple years of me wearing a ponytail every single day (I wrap the tail into a bun and secure with a second elastic- four loops for the base and two loops to secure the bun) and I have super thick heavy hair but that's very fine and silky- I love the look of the pony o in a half up half down but for the price it's just not worth it when I'd rarely wear it that way!
