Este Triumphs and Tournaments

One of the 7 videos made for APT Emilia Romagna in collaboration with the Municipality of Ferrara for the project "Feel the History Ferrara capital of the Renaissance" 2021.
This video tells the tradition of the Palio di Ferrara, a historical re-enactment that today, as in 1471, celebrated the ducal investiture of Borso d’Este.
The celebrations begin at Carnival and continue for many months, in the streets and squares of the city, with parades, races, dances, challenges and tournaments; with horses, flag wavers and extras - and they bring the Este court, the districts and the whole city to the stage of an era that is still alive in the gestures of its performers.
