thanks tiki for the motivation i'm 35 years old i'm had small stoke w about 5 years i couldn't walk correctly and i had to take train i was so scared to walk on the platform because knowing i had fear i was gonna fall but do and doing i came to not be scared anymore i wanted to share that the model is JUST DO IT

I found your channel yesterday and watched all your videos. You are very likeable and engaging, I spoke to my trucker friends about showers, they said make sure you get loyalty cards and use them when you fuel. You can use the points to buy showers.
20-30 min a day seems to be the time I like on daily or really long vids over a few days but I’d say do what you are comfortable with as your new to both trucking and YouTubing don’t kill yourself
But daily vids are my preference

I’ve had my cdl for 5 years but I have never had the proper training and I’m so rusty with being in a truck and I do feel fear , but it helps that I’m not the only one who feels that way and your motivational words help me. Thank you your videos somewhat keep my mind at ease .
Good job tiki you saved another person's life I think I can speak for other 18 wheelers and saying I think we all have made the right decisions to save other people's life and they don't even know it but you know you know your a better driver you know your going home to your boy good luck on keeping the same attitude I hope you do it will keep you trucking cuz I know I almost lost that mind set many times think and think slow about your kid he loves you and wants too see you working and home my guy good luck 👍
And one more thing city highways congestion use that 2nd lane stay out of the 1st lane and you don't have to worry about them Merging onto the freeway it gives you have a better way out and you don't have to worry about them 4 wheelers And if you see a sign that says trucks OK and it's the 3rd lane get over there

Great video tiki. You should check out Freeze dry wholesalers online. They got like pork chops, shrimp, New York steaks, chicken. It's all plain so you have to add your own seasonings. The directions on the package yells you how to rehydrate. I'm definitely gonna get me some when I start driving.

Passed my CLP test yesterday first try bro, starting school in next few weeks, can't wait to get out there on the roads!
Was is it difficult? Thinking about trying for my CLP next month.
I just got my Massachusetts class A CDL permit yesterday. Passed all 5 of my tests on the first try. What I did was read one section of the CDL drivers manual per day (I.E Air Brakes one day, combinations the next day, etc.). After finishing each chapter for the day I took sample tests on the free “CDL Prep” app for that section as well as on different sites online until I was consistently passing with a high grade/memorizing everything through repetition. Do that for every endorsement/test you’re going to take and you should be set up to pass with flying colors. Keep in mind there may be questions in the sample and DMV tests that aren’t covered in the driver’s manual. Study at a pace that makes YOU feel confident. Best of luck to you on your CDL journey!

Before you go anywhere to pick up a load pull up your destination on Google maps look at it and satellite view and 9.8 out of 10 times you will be able to see where to go in.
They should have taught you that in school or in training.... ( Ex training engineer ).

Shorter, more frequent videos is what I vote for as the typical attention span is 20 minutes. Keep up the good work and get some well rested sleep! P.S. Are all the Schneider trucks automatic transmissions?

To answer your question:
99% of Schneider's fleet consist of automatics. 1% consist of their older trucks that are 10-speed/13-speed manuals, which they are trying to phase out. Seeing as Schneider is all about efficiency with MPG and fuel consumption savings, I don't see them going back to manual rigs any time soon. Thanks for your question!

Yo, just a tip for any of you drivers. If you are trying to find a specific driveway for a new place that you have never been to, or a way out of somewhere or whatever, or trying to get an idea of how a place is designed, satellite view is your best friend. Go to Google Maps and zoom in over your location for an overhead view.

Way to go Tiki, keep them short with quality content. FYI on the ramen, try using natural flavors rather than the pack of seasoning that comes with Ramen, if you read the content on package it's BAD. I always discard the packets and add my own flavors.

Ya the Sodium is Insane in the ramen flavor packs & you’ll get BLOATED head to toe & your blood pressure will go thru the roof if you use the flavor packets daily.Been there done that lol.

#Tiki, just seen this video and I been driving for 20 yrs and yes the people don't realize how dangerous it is to be messing around with 18 wheelers but I realized there is times you have to hold you're ground and yes I am the same as you I will cus at them in the truck keep up the good work out there

I call the customer first and inform them. It’s faster than waiting to call a random team leader if not your own who answers, then wait for them to call someone else to wait for someone else to call them and etc.
I just call the customer my self once and done I inform them of my situation and why I can’t make the time or if I am arriving early, THEN I call my team leader/dispatch and I tell them I called the customer ahead of time to inform them of the situation and I’ll then tell my DTL the situation and if the customer refused when I call them that’s when I leave it to Schneider to handle.

I only use my GPS to get me on the street that I’m deliviomg too. But once I’m on that street I look for the entrance by sight don’t rely on the gps
If your rig breaks down and your an owner operator what happens to the trailer does that get towed with the truck? Or does the broker have someone else finish the transport
Btw if you want all 48 Schneider isn’t your company and I know you got let go. But the no “favoritism” is bull crap. They HEAVILY and I mean HEAVVELLLYYYYYY favor team drivers. The reason I as a 48 driver am stuck as a western 11 pretty much going through California and Arizona over an over and over getting annoyed is because they favor team drivers and teams are the ones who get the loads going to all the states while we are here getting screwed. I’m putting my two weeks in soon and swapping companies. Schneider is a good company and all but they refuse to work with me and send me else where I e put my foot down multiple times with my DTL and regulatory to fix their tablet and nothing changes. I’ve had enough of it.

Yep! If you've received your CDL Class A already, then now's the perfect time to start talking to company recruiters! I know I work for Schneider, but please don't limit yourself to who I'm working for. Speak with different recruiters and see what fits best for you! Hope this helps!

David hit the nail right on the head, except when Schneider put me through school, they made me agree to a 12 month contract to stay with them. If I break that contract, then I'm financially responsible for what they paid for while I was in CDL school and training. You don't have to pay for any of it as long as you're with them for the entirety of that contract.

1. I definitely want to touch the east coast, it doesn't matter where as long as my wheels touch a state on the east coast, so I can say I've been there lol.
2. I want to see spring time in the eastern states, since I've pretty much experienced all season here in the 11 western. Spring time and fall are my favorite seasons.
3. Roadside attraction? I'm not entire sure, because there's so many of them. I just want to see one crazy one. Not sure where I'll find it but definitely looking forward to seeing it!

I'll have to vote #shorter or #longer , whatever is easiest on you driver. Long hours of driving can be draining especially after a while, whatever you feel up to on a daily basis I'm good with myself. And driving east coast is even worse (congestion and drivers) , I got so tired of it got a P.O box in Phoenix and said I moved there just to stay on west coast more ( was based out of Carlisle, Pa. Lol) was single so didn't need to get home every 2 weeks. Plus opportunity to get more miles on west coast for sure. Also, this happens quite a few times for me with Schneider, they would send info for load, get to destination, name on building wasn't company I was told I was pu/dely too... Then they would say oh, it's a subsidiary company, how the hell do I know that, so just be aware that can happen, easier to park on side and just go to bldg and ask then it is to drive around for 30 minutes or more. Keep safe driver!

Congrats for pursuing your Class A!
The hardest part is definitely not being there for them when a family emergency comes up, or not being able to physically be there for them when they're having a terrible day. I'm not able to do the same stuff I was able to do for my fiancé anymore since I'm on the road, like when I'm home I'm distracting our son while she works from home so she can stay focused on work, stuff like that. When you make the sacrifice to leave home and go out on the road, you're not the only one making that sacrifice, your family at home is making that sacrifice with you as well.
