I literally heard (and saw) in my mind ISMO saying " I am going to a supermarket" when I read that. And it sounded funny. Maybe I've watched way too many of these Ismo-videos.
hes perfect, the niche between all that other crap, loudness politics etc. just a humble guy delivering "simple" stuff in his really authentic way, which i love the most, the authenticity in him. he could just talk about how he made some breakfast and it would be fun to hear.
That got me too! I have tears rolling down my face from laughter now 🤣🤣🤣 I soo needed that. I dont know when was the last time i laughed and so hard.... well long time...
i have been to one of his shows, every sentence felt like a punch line, on top of that he has a funny hand and facial gesture. I laughed a lot till I got my stomach sick. 😂
This is a woman thing regardless of nation. No woman wants others to see her house and think she's a lazy housekeeper, but many women - like me - don't feel upset when we go to another woman's house that's a bit messy. We completely understand. We're more forgiving and understanding of others than we are of ourselves. I can even tell my friend, "I don't want you to come to my house. It's a mess! I've been grading essays for the past four weekends." She understands, and she doesn't want me at her house either. 😅
@@MareKoTePratiKuci Everything is universal, friend, but some things are more particular to a culture. Op is talking about those specific things, not the overall message.

Omg that has LITERALLY happened so many times and I've never seen the funny side iSMO is ridiculously good at this stuff revealing how funny something frustrating can be....not AT THE TIME but later when your at his show lol
First I was like wait a minute, I have heard this before. It took a while until I realized that it is from his Finnish routine. Based on the audiences reactions it's not only a Finnish thing even though they walk with the shoes on inside there.
Garraway Prox yea here in Australia it’s much of a muchness .... a lot of Nordic people live here and I guess we’ve always taken shoes off in their places. My parents prefer shoes off even tho they have parquetry flooring. In my house I don’t care about shoes - we live in the bush and have more dirt than lawn around the house ... and we have dogs and cats and kids always in and out in and out , so if you took your shoes off your feet are likely to get dirty because I only sweep once or twice a day, I don’t walk around with the broom in my back pocket lol 😂 Having said that - I would love to live in a house where shoes have to be taken off inside 🤷🏼♀️ nothing worse than walking barefoot on a tiled floor that has sand or something on it UGH!!!!
I am from Greece and I can assure you, we say and do exactly the same thing here too. 😁 Ismo is hilarious, the way he refers to ordinary things in such a true and funny way.
This reminds me of a Strange Planet comic: "Friends arriving soon. We must place irregular objects inside objects with flat surfaces." "Welcome to our home. We own things, but we have hidden them."
OMG, my husband is like Ismo's wife... to the letter. I don't know why it's so important to clean before. I mean, we don't live in a hotel. But yes, some people should think that we do...😂
Definitely a Finnish thing! I do what his wife does and so does my mum hahahha but sometimes people come unannounced and when I say ‘scuse the mess, the usual answer is “I came to see you not your house!”
We have the exact same dialogue in Greece too, when someone comes unannounced haha. It always amazes me how many things we think are local behaviors, yet they are so universal.

Funny Ismo 👍 Very good joke! I really think that Ismo is one of the greatest comedians of our time.
It's so simple joke but his delivery is golden
That's because originally he did the joke in Finnish and it worked flawlessly.
And in the end it is not a joke at all. :|

Exactly. Then he would say, “why is this market so super?”
"Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, its... Supermarket!"
@@alitabattlechicken9732 Yeah - why not hypermarket, or overmarket? They are the same words, just in different language. Or how about an uber market?

Observational comedy from the conundrums and contradictions of our existence.
No "preaching" either, thank goodness
Sad but true. So many talented comedians throw away their talent on things no one wants to hear from a comedian. Same with actors etc.
Ismo nailed it again!
Friend: "Hey, welcome, but sorry it's a little bit messy here."
