This car hits the segment of middle aged Gen X'ers with aging parents who don't have the ability to step high into tall Crossovers/SUV's. This is a roomy cruiser with personality. Low slung and wide, good for long trips.
As a current Avalon owner, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase the 2019. If I didn't drive so many miles, I'd probably lease a nicer driving and looking German vehicle. For now, its trusty old Toyota. Worry-free crank'n'go for the next 10-15 years.
Believe me I've been there and you don't want a German car unless you want to lose your ability to buy anything else because of opportunity cost. One year my Benz cost thirty thousand dollars in maintainence and repairs after having eaten through twenty four thousand that it cost to operate the year before. Needless to say that it was my last luxury car but if I purchase another luxury car it will be a Lexus. Toyota is the most reliable manufacturer and in my mind a luxury item should be built to last. I was constantly repairing the Benz.
Couldn't agree with you more. I myself own a 2014 Avalon with XSP sport package and couldn't be happier. Bought the car used about 15 mths ago and boy has this car been great overall. In terms of reliability, no other car comes close. In terms of maintenance costs, very low... Ex: regular maintenance cost me less than $70 while a Lexus ES would cost close to $200 for the same service... and German cars, well... if you are out of the warranty and service package, could cost north of $300... When the time is right I will definitely go for this new Avalon model.
This new Avalon is amazing! It is finally a well rounded car! Im 24 and would buy this over any other sedan in a heartbeat! A 5 series sounds really nice but we know what happens when those warranties go bye bye. BMW parts in N. America are NOT cheap.
Just turned 30 but I feel that if I had the money, Id get more for it and with the looks of the new Avalon (as compared to the past generations) I would definitely take this over a German.
I think young people, smart young people would choose the Toyota Avalon after recognizing the German luxury counterparts are just glorified money pits. Economy cars now offer more tech than the german luxury cars.
I just bought a '14 model for less than 14k! Originally was looking for a Prius but I didn't see the value for what everyone around here was charging so I ended up looking for a Camry Hybrid and found the Avalon instead and couldn't be happier!
36 year old here. Bought a new 2020 Avalon TRD in the same color as this video. Amazing car. Left the Scatpacks and Hellcats behind. this is a great all arounder.
I was in the market for a luxury sedan and this Avalon , which I bought offered a pronounced value position. I shopped it against four cylinder Volvo S90, E300,G80 - the exception here and an Accord Touring. The value , technology, V6 engine, real transmission and safety sealed the deal. The ride is pure luxury and refinement. Cabin is Lexus hush. The interior is refined but not too upscale to have concerns with having family with fast food on a long road trip.
I’m 30 years old and currently have a 2013 Avalon Limited. I’d definitely keep the new Touring or Limited on my radar for when I look into replacing my vehicle. Definitely works for younger folks.
Toyota and Lexus need to offer all wheel drive versions if they want to create more room between this new Avalon and the ES, especially in snowy regions. Genesis offers all-wheel drive sedans since you mentioned the G80, along with all other luxury or near luxury brands (Acura, Infiniti), so I would spend more for all-wheel drive where within my region of the U.S.. Also, the Lexus ES doesn’t offer all-wheel drive and I imagine they would sell even more ES versions if they offered an all-wheel drive package for an extra two to three grand. Not sure at all younger buyers would purchase an Avalon. There’s going to be the grandpa car stigma for quite a while. Now, they’ve significantly improved the car all the way around and Toyota is known for reliability and that alone may swing some middle aged folks under 60 to buy an Avalon. In addition, Toyota maintains car values extremely well and that’s important to smart car buyers.
I bought my Avalon Hybrid SXE before they were readily available. Never thought I'd buy a 4 door car. Have had 2 TBirds, 2 Solaras, 3 Buick Regals, 1 Infiniti and one or two other two door cars. Always sporty, fast automobiles. When I saw the 2019 Avalon Hybrid SXE, I fell in love with it. So sporty looking, 3 drives to choose from - normal, economy and sport (has the flappers on the steering wheel, too). My daughter was afraid it would be too slow for me and I would not like the 4 doors. HOWEVER, I absolutely love this automobile. It has only 4 cylinders, but it will really take off as fast as any other automobile I've had. It is so-o-o quiet, too. Love the grill - classy - although some people turn their nose up at it. There is nothing I do not like about this car. I would have preferred red like my last Solara but love the navy blue (Parisian Pearl), although it does need frequent washing to look its best. Do not get the 43 mpg, but do get 37 mpg, and it uses regular gas, so it's lot better than my recent Infinity X60, which used premium and got only 20 mpg. This will probably be my last car, as I am a senior citizen, but I'm sure my grandkids will be standing in line for my Avalon when I depart this world - hopefully not for another 10 years or so.
Currently driving my 06 Avalon still a great car, glad to see them getting better with style and performance. I like the new one and I would buy it..I’m 19 btw
I love that it kept the smooth V6 instead of going to a four cylinder turbo, and it had a 8 speed transmission, instead of those crappy CVT. I love the interior of the Limited but like the exterior of the Touring more. If only, Toyota would let us get both in one package.
I’ve never owned nor driven a Buick in my life and after test driving luxury brands, I decided to buy the red 2019 Avalon Touring. The Avalon is a Lexus ES wrapped in a Toyota wrapper/badging. I’m sure as heck not comparing this to a M5, though it’s comfortable, quiet and the 301hp is fine. Who compares this to an AMG or Ferrari.
Ford always had management issues. letting jaguar and Landrover/range rover go instead of doing what Tata motors has done with the brands. Undermining the value of their Lincoln luxury brand In the past. Always bad decisions, instead of modifying their methods with market change, they get rid of it.
And Chevy got rid of the one thing that people respected them for - the Corvette. Sure - it's still around but it's not a Chevrolet any more. Didn't they hear about synergy effects? In Europe they renamed tiny Daewoos to Chevrolet effectivly killing any status of the brand, instead of perhaps calling it Saturn or something. So no - USA brand managment has no logic. What makes it funny is when Bob Lutz opens his cakehole and rants about how other companies should be run.
I would choose an Avalon, I am a student in college and the avalon fits all of my needs. I k ow it has the old man reputation but with this need design and style I agree it sure is appealing to a younger crowd. I am a die Hard toyota guy. But if i had to choose a car it would most likely be this avalon or his more premium cousin the 2019 ES 350 F Sport. I like power in a car but I think too much power for what you need is not good.
Edison Peguero as a fellow student why do u give a shit about that ur so called needs lol shut up, the only needs we have our age is to work and class as u say
I’m 40 also and fell in love with its styling and the room inside. I have the wind chill pearl touring model. Traded a 15 eco boost mustang. The Avalon is so sweet and beautiful. And it had a perfectly subtle yet noticeable sound out of those quad pipes.
I would choose THIS Avalon over any of the cars you mention at the end since those European cars are far costlier, not just in price but in maintenance and repair; many have poor reliability too.
As for considering an Avalon over a Lexus (or Infiniti, Buick or possibly an A6), absolutely. You know reliability will not be an issue and its a fresh design. As for Ford & Chevy discontinuing TWO well known name plates tells me they are throwing in the towel for mid/full size cars. There will always be a demand for the category. I feel Ford & Chevy (GM) have been slowly returning to pre-2008 mentality and becoming more reactive vs proactive (and therefore throwing in the towel) when it comes to the "family" segment of automobiles.
I am 31 I own a 15 Avalon touring it is very very very nice the drive is not as smooth as expected but the car is very classy but still looks good now with the new Avalon is a very nice balance between smooth drive, looks and classy style If you like that young classy look the Avalon Touring with the new driving system is spot on, it is great for long trips and also for going on dates.
I am considering this as my next daily. Currently 28 and have my "fun car" of an '06 TSX 6 speed. I just need comfort and power for my 45 minute commute.
Steve Oswald dude you will love it. I have the 2019 touring in wind chill pearl. Love it and it has a nice sound out the back which adds to the appeal of this car. I think they hit the nail on the head.
Oh I would absolutely take this bad boy over an Impala, 300, Charger or Maxima. The track record of reliability speaks for itself! The only car I would love to have over this would've been the Hyundai Azera... I really hate Hyundai stopped production of that beautiful vehicle.
Definitely this car will outlast all those you just named not outperform in speed but definitely will be more reliable not only that most Toyota dealers offer lifetime warranty on powertrain. The way it looks now 1st looks amazing 2nd you will save 10+k and will have more options than other cars and 3 you will spend less in shop now if you have the money then I would choose all others but if you are average person I chose this.
I agree it needs a panoramic sunroof. If they can engineer one into the smaller new Camry they can make it happen for the Avalon. Just my opinion though...🤷🏻♂️
I know the 5 series or Eclass will be more powerful and and more capably handling wise than a Avalon. Also the German Brand will have more of a luxury 'punch' to them and awe factor. But on overall long term reliability the Avalon would be a more preferable choice. if i were looking to go with something practical and less complicated on the long run; the Avalon would be my choice
Well, I currently drive an older S class. I have opened my mind to checking out all large sedan offerings. My initial choice was a 3 year old S class = ~$60k. I love the solitude of the cabin and the plush ride. However, repairs are costly and depreciation is bad. This Toyota is a good size, affordable, hopefully reliable and if things do break - not a big deal to replace. I still want to check out Lexus and Jaguar.
Too bad the limited addition has the big grill in the front. Too bad there wasn't an option for the touring grill to be an option for the limited The other downer is why didn't Toyota give an option for real leather at least In the touring trim. I'm stuck now and probably will wait for the lexus es350 to come out in 2019
With a quarter of a million miles on my Toyota Sienna and over 150K on my wife's Venza, without any problems at all, I am looking forward to buying a used 2019 Avalon.
This Bad boy here(the Avalon) is Beautiful, Classy and Reliable. I've been waiting to buy my last car and I've found it. Not sure what color, any suggestions...
Hey I'd get the Avalon hands down I currently own a 2018 Corolla and its steady and plenty of fun to drive so I have to say they did something right instead of going for the money
The Avalon is very nice. They need the rear side window shades. I don’t need the panoramic sunroof. I have one in my car, though it’s rarely used. The interior is much more useful than the 2019 ES350, plus the engines have the exact same horsepower.
As far as I am aware this car will not come to Europe, the Camry was binned in Europe years ago, but I am not shedding a tear. As long as we have a V8 naturally aspirated Lexus coupe which looks kind of a piece of origami. But anyway, I would still keep my 2018 Audi RS saloon as it has a fantastic throttle response, the 5 cylinder turbocharged engine linked to a sports exhaust, sounds fantastic, it quicker than the Lexus, it is cheaper, but where it looses to the Lexus, is in steering, the Lexus with rear wheel drive has almost no under steer, whilst the Audi is set up with under steer as a security feature it seems, due to its Quattro system. And even though the Toyota Avalon and Lexus have great designed interiors and lots of tech as standard plus fantastic reliability, I would take the Audi any day of the week. I know the Lexus and the Toyota should be compared to the A5 & A6 in size, but all these cars have become so heavy so I chose the 400bhp RS3, as it can almost do the same as any of the other cars, except boot space and rear passenger space.
Your Net Price After Rebate for a 2018 Avalon FWD Limited (3554) is $32,597* *Plus any of these accessories or packages. Price does not reflect tax, license and fees.
Cleveland, OH... I’d have to say no to the Avalon, mainly because I’d have to go with either a Stinger or the BMW. I’m not willing to say that the Avalon is all together unattractive, but the BMWs and the new Stinger look SO much better, and then there is the issue of driving dynamics... you know all to well the Avalon is not all that competitive against the others in those terms. It still seems like a car my 65 year old parents would drive, not for the younger crowd.
I'm 45 gen X. This will Probably be the last large Sedan That Toyota makes. Cross shopping with a Honda Accord touring 2.0T Very fast But not the Avalon.
They add a panoramic roof like the Camry V6 and AWD on the Avalon V6, then I could see this car outselling Camrys and highly competing with the Lexus ES350
Yes I would definitely consider a Toyota Avalon among all luxury cars cuz I used to own a hand me down Avalon and it was awesome. The Avalon is my first dream luxury car to own in my mid twenties rn. No jk and no lol for I’m not into EU vehicles that looks nice especially when their reliability sucks vs Japanese ones.
I am 22 and I myself am seriously considering the Avalon. I was looking at '14 CLA45's, C400s for a while now but this new Avalon really has me wondering whether the performance is worth it or not. The car looks sporty and sharp, the interior looks awesome, I'm sure its much cheaper maintenance wise as well.. The only thing really keeping me from going with the Avalon though is the performance. I understand handling is great but I would be happier with more power and maybe even AWD (assuming its FWD). It's fast but it isn't quite modern day sports sedan fast..
Didn't groove on the new 2019 styling and that big arse grill, so went with the 2018 Avalon Limited Hybrid in Blizzard Pearl (Thanks, Lexus!)... Love it! New to sedans after decades in pickups. Sold my 2012 Tundra Rock Warrior DC for the Avalon? Yep! And my wallet at the gas pump thanks me too...
I'm looking at both. Avalon is roomier. Has a softer ride. But you get a V6 and not a four cylinder turbo. If you are buying, I'd go for the Avalon. Plus I'm not sure I like the push-button shift mechanism in the 2.0t.
For the price that I paid for my M535i....I would absolutely love to save $20000. If that Avalon only had a TURBO! I recently got to sit in one (Avalon) and it was good. Did the sit behind myself test and it passed. Very nice car that Avalon.....maybe if they turbo it I would look harder.
Wow! That’s a shame that Chevy is getting rid of the impala! My grandma still has her 1969 Chevrolet Impala that her parents gave to her when she turned 30. The thing is still in mint condition and she only drives it every now and then considering she’s 72 years old. However, my first car was a Ford Taurus and it sucks that their discontinuing that as well! I also feel bad that with trucks getting more upscale, people who held off in buying trucks because they lacked the creature comforts that sedans have are now buying trucks as well. Ironically my dad had 2012 Buick LaCrosse, and with the new ram that came out, my dad will be trading that in for the new Laramie crew cab. Also, focusing back on the Toyota Avalon, I wish that this car had a digitize dash along with that swooping center console!
This has that looks I could see young thugs pasting 22s on and rollin thru the hood just as much as grandma goin to see her grandchidren in.. theyve really hit the mark enticing a broader audience and as long as you dont require track-like handling then one would be hard pressed to find a better car for money - but as with anything, it is the image some people get stuck on and for those people they deserve to pay more and get less if thats what matters more to them.
the Lacross has a very nice look to it... more subtle but with presence. That would be a good comparison.. the Kia Cadenza, Toyota Avalon, base model G80 and LaCrosse
Don’t know why you have a mixed bag about the Avalon it is nice as hell..this is the car Toyota made the mistake with, never mind the peer group of sales / reviewers who copy cat the jargon directed at this car… I’d take it over the priced out Lexus and the maxima cvt or the problematic Hyundai and bmw..
Just finished test driving the 2019 Toyota Avalon, not bad at all! And Nissan refuses to offer information about the 2019 Nissan Maxima SR, go figure...even though my lease expires in one-month. May be time to move away from Maxima.
All the people I know lease German cars, they don't but them, they are outrageously expensive to repair and joyfully hand the keys back to the dealer at the end of the lease before the warranty expires. People who buy their cars buy Toyota's because they are 10 times more reliable than any German car, and when they do have issues cost a fraction of their German counterparts for repairs. The last point is there are no autobahn's in America to take advantage of a German cars strengths, instead we have lousy streets with potholes and a Japanese car is much more at home driving under these conditions.
Avalon Limited 2017 is a powerful car and i drive it hard and i bought it new. I changed out the crap tires that Toyota loves to put on and tinted out the windows. I like the size of the interior and it has a very large trunk. I do not like the 2019. Yes i did look at a lexus, a genesis and an audi. An Avalon is a car that is not a heat score and it goes. Get your finger on the pulse old man. I am young. Avalon is a vehicle made on it’s own assembly line . A lexus ES 350 is made on the same assembly line as a Camry with some extras and a lexus sticker. Avalon has a good safety rating so my insurance is manageable as well. It was a no brainer for me. The sound system is very good. I buy what i think is good not trendy.
LOL! Good news . . . That M5 made it into three other NON M5 episodes . . . Oh, and there are two M5 episodes on top of that . . . Almost forgot, there already is one M5 episode already live . . . ua-cam.com/video/J5P8DjErExY/v-deo.html
I really like the car on the inside and enjoyed driving it around the city. But that front end is butt ugly. Which has me leaning towards the Lexus ES which seemed even quieter to me... p.s. If you drove in the hot Florida sun and parked in an open parking lot, a panoramic sunroof is that last thing you'd want.
I’m 30 have a 2015 Avalon and will be getting the 2019 Avalon. You have to drive this car it’s very surprisingly fun. I love my car!!
I would buy an Avalon over any German car any day. European vehicles are nothing but disposable luxury, that's why I bought a Lexus
This car hits the segment of middle aged Gen X'ers with aging parents who don't have the ability to step high into tall Crossovers/SUV's. This is a roomy cruiser with personality. Low slung and wide, good for long trips.
oldschool1 getting into cars is harder for older people than SUVs since they usually have to duck down and/or bend their knees
Needless to say that it was my last luxury car but if I purchase another luxury car it will be a Lexus. Toyota is the most reliable manufacturer and in my mind a luxury item should be built to last. I was constantly repairing the Benz.
Yeah the only way I'd drive a German car is via lease where everything is covered under the manufacturers warranty. I'd NEVER purchase one.
Couldn't agree with you more. I myself own a 2014 Avalon with XSP sport package and couldn't be happier. Bought the car used about 15 mths ago and boy has this car been great overall. Rick Frank well said
You need to check out the 2018/19 Mazda6 :P
Roger Skagerström nothing wrong with mazda but this not exactly in the same ballpark
Just turned 30 but I feel that if I had the money, Id get more for it and with the looks of the new Avalon (as compared to the past generations) I would definitely take this over a German.
and you tune this car ,wow it will look amazing
I think young people, smart young people would choose the Toyota Avalon after recognizing the German luxury counterparts are just glorified money pits.
Economy cars now offer more tech than the german luxury cars.
German manufactures certainly look at the US market as their cash cow.
If of course, the young people have $45,000...?
Raafid Vlogs right i would if i could lmfao
Tone down the grill. Put AWD, Panaramoic Sunroof and Remote Start. Then I'll go buy it.
I just bought a '14 model for less than 14k! Originally was looking for a Prius but I didn't see the value for what everyone around here was charging so I ended up looking for a Camry Hybrid and found the Avalon instead and couldn't be happier!
Oh yeah I'd buy this car it's the nicest Avalon Toyota built it has a Lexus feel to it.

I'm 42 and bought this car. LOVE IT.

Living in Germany where all you see is Mercedes, Audi, and BMW I would choose then Avalon. Reliable, good looking, and less money. Yes please.
I’m 32 have an M car as my fun car and would seriously consider this as a DD.
I drove the touring model was very impressed before I started watching the vids on the car
Currently driving my 06 Avalon still a great car, glad to see them getting better with style and performance. I like the new one and I would buy it..I’m 19 btw
I like that the headlights will turn to the direction the car is turning
A terrific review, riddled with wealth of knowledge and insight.
Hell yes I would by this Avalon over Maxima......and I love the Maxima.
I agree had fun with the 2017 maxima I had… I will take the xle the touring or the trd version with tire insurance
Nissan has bullishit cvt transmissions that break lol nissan cannot compare with Toyota craftsmanship and styling .
Both wrong. The old cvts were crap. Not the new ones. Honda n Toyota make the best ones.
Yes, younger people will buy this car. I'm one of them.
So will I, never thought I’d say that haaa
I love that it kept the smooth V6 instead of going to a four cylinder turbo, and it had a 8 speed transmission, instead of those crappy CVT. I love the interior of the Limited but like the exterior of the Touring more. If only, Toyota would let us get both in one package.
We called that Taurus design “suppository” styling. Love the Avalon. Won’t drive a minivan, as I call the SUVs.
I just bought a 2019 Toyota Avalon SXT! I love it!! It is SO NOT the previous model! I'm so happy with it and I can't wait to drive!
Bonnie Dobbs There is no such thing as Toyota Avalon SXT. Did you mean to say SXE instead?
SXE...sorry! I love my care, it's so awesome!!!
Iggi Valencia it’s not even the SXE ITS XSE 😀
I’ve never owned nor driven a Buick in my life and after test driving luxury brands, I decided to buy the red 2019 Avalon Touring. The Avalon is a Lexus ES wrapped in a Toyota wrapper/badging. Im 21, and im leaning towards buying it, but that missing panoramic sunroof is killing it
Trust me you don't need it the pan sunroof that is
Why?
Ford always had management issues. letting jaguar and Landrover/range rover go instead of doing what Tata motors has done with the brands. Undermining the value of their Lincoln luxury brand In the past. Always bad decisions, instead of modifying their methods with market change, they get rid of it.
I just do not understand American car companies anymore.
Ford has ruined many car makers
They couldn't sustain keeping them.
And Chevy got rid of the one thing that people respected them for - the Corvette. Sure - it's still around but it's not a Chevrolet any more. Didn't they hear about synergy effects? So no - USA brand managment has no logic. What makes it funny is when Bob Lutz opens his cakehole and rants about how other companies should be run.
Roger Skagerström what's to you mean the corvette is not a Chevy? It still very much is a dhevy.
Im 34 (consider myself young) and this is the first time I've ever considered the Avalon.
I would choose an Avalon, I am a student in college and the avalon fits all of my needs. I k ow it has the old man reputation but with this need design and style I agree it sure is appealing to a younger crowd. I am a die Hard toyota guy. I am 20 and I never thought I would consider buying myself a Toyota Avalon... I love the interior and exterior
I’m 21 I plan on getting the Avalon once I’m full time at work.
I definitely would buy this, and I’m 40.
I own a 2012 avalon limited and its the closest thing to lexus es 350 or a poor man`s lexus .Drives smooth no problems amazing ride.
I’m 40 also and fell in love with its styling and the room inside. I have the wind chill pearl touring model. Traded a 15 eco boost mustang. The Avalon is so sweet and beautiful. And it had a perfectly subtle yet noticeable sound out of those quad pipes.
@@michaelmahaffey3201 Must be our age, I'm also 40 and am considering buying this over another Benz.
MotoMan you make great videos
Thank you, Aaron!
I would choose THIS Avalon over any of the cars you mention at the end since those European cars are far costlier, not just in price but in maintenance and repair; many have poor reliability too.
I just purchased a pre owned 2018 Avalon... Beautiful car.
Yes I think what you get here is value for the $$$$$... Hard to beat.
Thanks for the TNGA explanation.
I live in Germany and am considering the Avalon over the BMW
great car for the price its obviously the better value to answer your question at the end of the video
As for considering an Avalon over a Lexus (or Infiniti, Buick or possibly an A6), absolutely. You know reliability will not be an issue and its a fresh design. I would consider this car just because of the way it looks now. Really wish it had Android Auto, but you can't have everything.
This has me intrigued. I Cant wait to test drive one. Real wood, spacious back seats, CarPlay, reliability, and a NA V6...check!
Only turbo cars can reach power at 2k rpm not even a 500 hp NA engine can give you that power and low rpm.
Can we talk about why Chevy is having a surprisingly good start at terminating the camaro brand?
I am considering this as my next daily. Currently 28 and have my "fun car" of an '06 TSX 6 speed. I just need comfort and power for my 45 minute commute.
Steve Oswald dude you will love it. I have the 2019 touring in wind chill pearl. Love it and it has a nice sound out the back which adds to the appeal of this car. I think they hit the nail on the head.
I’m thinking about the new touring With some custom wheels possibly
29, just bought a 19 touring. Probably one of last people in America that like big powerful sedans.
Awesome review... Can you do a review on new RLX, RDX, and MDX
I can’t stop looking at it when Cruises by my side 🤤
Oh I would absolutely take this bad boy over an Impala, 300, Charger or Maxima. The track record of reliability speaks for itself! The only car I would love to have over this would've been the Hyundai Azera... I really hate Hyundai stopped production of that beautiful vehicle.
Wow. The new Avalon is very nice. Way better then the old ones.
I like the way it looks ,its different and unique and if you tune this car ,wow it will be a head tuner
Would of if it had AWD however we purchased a AWD Lincoln MKC instead and love ❤️ it.
Best auto reviewer on youtube!
Yes, me as a young (millennial) would by an Avalon.
Im 29 and I would buy it any day
Im actually thinking about selling my 2012 camry and buy one of these
I would go for the Avalon providing it has enough ground clearance, and a tight enough turning circle.
Too bad the limited addition has the big grill in the front. Too bad there wasn't an option for the touring grill to be an option for the limited The other downer is why didn't Toyota give an option for real leather at least In the touring trim.
I'm stuck now and probably will wait for the lexus es350 to come out in 2019
This is the closest thing to lexus es 350. A poor man`s lexus.
Great video review as usual. But, no mention of the Cadenza?
Your Net Price After Rebate for a 2018 Avalon FWD Limited (3554) is
$32,597*

Cleveland, OH... I’d have to say no to the Avalon, mainly because I’d have to go with either a Stinger or the BMW. I’m not willing to say that the Avalon is all together unattractive, but the BMWs and the new Stinger look SO much better, and then there is the issue of driving dynamics... you know all to well the Avalon is not all that competitive against the others in those terms. It still seems like a car my 65 year old parents would drive, not for the younger crowd.
Yes I would for the price difference of the car verses the premium brand size segment. The only issue is the nameplate pride.
I'm younger and I'd buy it
I'm 45 gen X.
This will Probably be the last large Sedan That Toyota makes.
Cross shopping with a Honda Accord touring 2.0T
Very fast But not the Avalon.
If you have family definitely buy this car but if your single, possibly a sporty model
Over the Lexus ES, yes. However, I'd want a GS if I had the choice.
I love this vehicle..
Yes Avalon over those because Toyota reliability and cheaper total cost of ownership.
Yes.. im 34 with a 2012 avalon.. german cars are expensive to maintain.. nice but expensive.. my 2012 backseats recline.. and is fast enough.
Any help for me picking an Avalon Touring vs an Accord 2 liter turbo touring?
I'm looking at both. Avalon is roomier. Has a softer ride. But you get a V6 and not a four cylinder turbo. If you are buying, I'd go for the Avalon. Plus I'm not sure I like the push-button shift mechanism in the 2.0t.
I live at altitude, so the Accord would be quite a bit faster due to the turbo (air density). Both are great cars, both should last forever.
You make a really good point. I also live at 5700ft so the Accords turbo might make more sense for performance.
For the price that I paid for my M535i....I would absolutely love to save $20000. If that Avalon only had a TURBO! I recently got to sit in one (Avalon) and it was good. Did the sit behind myself test and it passed. Very nice car that Avalon.....maybe if they turbo it I would look harder.
cool car... very beautiful
I thought those young thugs only buy cars that's cheaper than their rims.
I like the new Buick LaCrosse
the Lacross has a very nice look to it... more subtle but with presence.
I’m driving a 95 Avalon... I think it’s time to update!
Here is what I never understood. Fully loaded Camry now Avalon, or for very close to the same money a stock an ES has all of that and some - smh
Badges is what it boils down to negating the styling.
Would I consider that Avalon over a 5-series or E-class of course NOT!
Your loss.
I will watch any video that features the ///M5 .
LOL! Good news . . . That M5 made it into three other NON M5 episodes . . . Oh, and there are two M5 episodes on top of that . . . Almost forgot, there already is one M5 episode already live . . . ua-cam.com/video/J5P8DjErExY/v-deo.html
I don't know why but I have always liked last gens interior better. Had more character. 🤔
But what are the prices 😭
This car is nice I would buy it good power and it’s reliable I want one now😂
