I surprisingly actually like the way this suit looks. I know it's gotten a lot of hate, but I think it's a unique piece with a great pose and a great sculpt of Kilmer. Val was actually a really good, underrated Batman/Bruce Wayne. He just didn't have the best material to work with as far as direction and production.
hello, thanks for taking the time to film and post this video. It’s now September and noting how everyone felt about the silver colouring I wondered how you feel about P1 rereleasing this as a darker, 100 unit Limited Edition? I have the normal P1 Kilmer in the Panther Suit with Gadget Wall which I really like but hated this silver one and passed on Robin also. Having said that, I have just pre-ordered this ‘Night Colour’ Sonar Suit and would appreciate your thoughts. Personally, I’ve been quite pissed off with P1, I bought their 89 Batman/Bruce Wayne duo which is only now about to ship…but a few month’s later they released a Half Scale 89 Batman which I would have loved instead to stand with my half scale Knightmare Batman. They’re resorting to dirty tricks, shipping gouging, expiring reward points ect….so much so I chose JND’s Pfiffer Catwoman Duo as this year’s big purchase… Anyway, thanks for the upload. Spider
@@spiderrouge5335 hey bud. First of all thanks for watching. Really appreciate it. I was very pissed honestly with P1 releasing this 'night color version' of the Sonar Suit. Already the name is an insult to collectors who bought the original version, which clearly is faulty, cause the suit in the movie was clearly black. Anyway, I grew to like the color of the original release, something different, and I also will not support P1 is this shady move. However, if I hadn't POed the first version, I wouldn't hesitate to PO the new one. Will certainly be great I guess. So congrats!
@@rawstatuereviews Hello, Thanks for kind words, and you’re welcome in return. I can understand how you feel; as I’m really angry at missing out on the upscaled Keaton Bat; they’ve not even bothered to alter it on any way..and as it was never previewed I thought it a rotten trick… But as for your Sonar Suit, grrrrr! I simply cannot accept that it was, as some of the larger, possibly P1 affiliated channels have claimed, a ‘QC Issue’ that slipped past. No…it was signed off from every step of the way and I think the number of returned/unsold ‘silver’ Sonar Suits and unpopular Robin’s have forced them to salvage what they can as cheaply as possible. Wether accidental or a scam of some kind, I think all of you who bought this and were dissatisfied, should have recieved some form of compensation; a 50% discount on something else or free shipping on ur next order ect. I’m so glad that you’ve learnt to like yours…but after this, the half scale 89 after we bought the 1/3 (which I had to buy to get the Keaton Wayne) and the unbelievable shipping hikes, I’m done with P1. Yes I’ve bought the ‘Corrected Sonar’ and love my P1 Blitway Catwoman but for what they cost with shipping and U.K. Customs Duty it’s cheaper to buy a pair of JND’s instead. I’m also pissed of with Darkside and their bloody ‘pirate ship Catwoman’ nonsense but that’s another story..I won’t be buying from them again either..(for two years I thought I was being scammed)! Anyway I’m frothing. Take care and when the Sonar eventually comes in I’ll send you a pic. Take care and thanks again Spider Ps… A very simple fix for the silver suit would be a gentle overspray with a smoke/clear acrylic paint..most model company’s have one… or even rubbing and buffing off an oil paint scumble coat of lamp or mar’s black.
Do you like this piece more now that you have had it a while? Does it look more accurate color in darker lighting? I’m debating on picking it up. Thanks!
Hey bud. It's still way to bright in color, no matter the lighting. I like it quite a lot, but still not sure what to think about the color choice honestly. Tough decision 😉
Thanks man, it’s a shame they messed up on the color, especially on this piece. Your review of the other forever suit made me get that one and I love it. Such good clear video and detail. Thanks again!
The suits color looks a little weird at first glance but I think its accurate. In the movie we only see it in dark lighting plus the color grading they do in this films probably made it look a bit darker than it actually was. Looks pretty cool. I wish they had that same base for the black suit version which was way too tall. Its the only reason I keep holding off on buying it
Agreed. The color grew on my while shooting the video. I also think it's accurate. Checked some movie scenes again and when you look at it closely, in the close up shots it looks pretty much the same. Thanks for watching!!
Might be a bit light, but on camera he looks to be a reflective silver effect. I'm guessing it's true to the movie costume, but the scene was more dimly lit, so maybe that's why it seems so incredibly "white" to us. I'm really not sure, but the sculpt is really well done, and I think the likeness is better on this one than the normal suit version.
I think that reflective silver is generally how the suit looked like. But it should have been a lot darker, like in the promo pics P1 made to advertise the piece. Still looking very good. I like the suit quite a lot. But it's a pity that it's not true to the film.
Glad you like it bud. It is super cool. Just wish the color would be darker as the real suit was in the movie. Strange color choice after all. Still cool piece. Enormous with that huge base.
The sculpt is phenomenal as always by Prime1 but they really need to fix the paint job. It’s way too light and silvery that it appears “white”. The actual screen used suit was almost a gunmetal gray tone with a blue hue. I thought the prototype images looked fantastic so I have no clue why they changed it
Me neither bud. It looks pretty cool, though. If you have it in a relatively dark environment it looks a bit better colorwise. Agree that the sculpt is fantastic!
Great review. This is definitely different from the prototype as far as paint goes. Not sure why they went so aggressive on the shading. The screen used suit does not have any kind of blue and purple shading on it. It’s just a solid metallic silver. Anytime you saw those colors was from the lighting they used. Great piece otherwise. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and fully agreed. They should have gone more for a gunpowder silver or something in that direction. Anyway, I kind of like this crazy color meanwhile. Really pops.
@@rawstatuereviews It's definitely a beautiful piece and I will be getting it to go with the other two I have. I just need to find one. Lol!! It's sold out or wait listed everywhere.
