Doesn't matter when it's the only thing even close, the kicks I've made with that surpass anything I've see by far and I mean it's a huge difference if you know your frequencies and know how to make the initial sample where you want it
Actually its the followers kick, which I made with Raoul, pitched down and with some compression ;) We call it the donkey kick, it is used in a lot of donkey roller tracks.
it's about the distortion, I've got the same problem. Using Camelcrusher. I always thought the crackle sound were only high frequencies but they're spreak over different frequencies. You need to distort it different. Using more peak on the EQ so it doesn't distort other frequencies wich you don't want to distort :)
Do You have more Videos / more episodes? Thank you so much for that tutorial. Its so great. Audiofreq is such a great producer with know how. Love him and his Music! Please vote for Audiofreq on DJMAG Top #1! Thanks Sam and the professor !!!! Good Job :)
If someone's looking for Logic's clip distortion's substitute in FL Studio, try out Whitenoise Stereodist from Buzz Effect Adapter. This has most important functions from clip distortion and even more :D
@@phucdatbich1951 late but still: there was a beef between Wildstylez and deadmau5, that Wildstylez stole Strobe melody in his Timeless. deadmau5 said it is so fucking easy to produce hardstyle, but managed to do shit, ESPECIALLY KICK. So that's the joke: deadmau5 hiding here watching how to make normal kick
A little correction i might add: the first hardstyle kick was made in 2004, also by the Donkey Rollers (thanks to Zany?) and it's called: Strike Again 2004, the track Followers came out at the very end of 2005 x)
+ShaaRhee First hardstyle kick? No, he gave an example of the first kick that sounds like todays modern kicks, the first hardstyle kick was obviously in the first hardstyle song in 2000-2001
sam knows his shit i had the pleasure of spending a few weeks with him when he came to visit his good friend drew who is another fellow producer from when he produced hardcore back in the day. I was just mind blown and so pleased to learn everything i did trust me in person doing stuff and produscing with him on the spot is insane
@ AUDIOFREQ I have used the same Drumazon settings as yours and copied exact Distortion settings but in Cubase. When I get to the eq part where you low shelf the lows and boost resonant frequencies 500-600-700hz. How come on my analyser the low end is showing to be smaller than the resonant frequencies? But on your analyzer it is showing that your low end is higher than the boosted resonant frequencies? I have copied everything exact but it doesn’t seem to be getting the same result in the analyzer. Did you do anything to the Drumazon before hand?
Yeah , I'm also using CamelCrusher. I found out that the crackle appears right in the freq range that I'm distorting. So pretty annoying.. Is this better with other plugins?
Let your kick's tail have a little more attack and then use a normal 909 for the punch. This way your kick will 'move' more and you'll have a brighter kick!
Mijn geluidsinstallatie open gedraaid om Sam te kunnen horen. En dan komt die Hardstyle kick ... Ik verschoot zohard dat ik bijna tegen het plafond zat.
I have to disagree that the first hardstyle kick was created in 2005. There were many more that were produced before, however they weren't raw kicks, they were reverse bass. Hardstytle has many types of kicks and not just raw style kicks.
This vid should get views more than " Psy - Gangnam style " video ! and thats why we see how much people are stupid... They Just follow what everybody follows...
Christ, for an audio class, you sure need a class about setting your levels right.
RIP speakers.
Thank you Audiofreq for doing this lessons!
I really appreciate you for this lessons,
looking forward for the next 2 episodes :)
venm by goliath sounds is the closest thing on windows to the logic clip distortion and hands down the best one ive seen for hardstyle kicks
its only 32 bit though. so the saturator works alright
Doesn't matter when it's the only thing even close, the kicks I've made with that surpass anything I've see by far and I mean it's a huge difference if you know your frequencies and know how to make the initial sample where you want it
Taylor Alfs Trash2
Taylor Alfs I have an exact replica of logic clip for windows
@robert frost, will it work with ableton and can you please put a link?
THIS IS SO INTERESTING! I have been waiting forever for a good video like this by a respected professional to explain the science behind Hardstyle!
This was very illuminating. It'd be really cool to attend a class like this in real life.
Actually its the followers kick, which I made with Raoul, pitched down and with some compression ;) We call it the donkey kick, it is used in a lot of donkey roller tracks.
this is amazing! i've never been intro hardstyle scene but i'm just so interested in those kick drums they're so amazing
The audio from the computer itself is extremely high compared to the mic. Scares me every time.

Woow FinetunerDJ, dit filmpje is echt geweldig:))
I like what he says about FL... :) Gain staging must be easy, and turn down everything but the kick with a few clicks, shall not be more than that.
i love hardstlye, but don´t understand what are they doing there, but i seems to be interesting.
Sam is so sound, I'm learning soooo much from this holy shit
whats dat constant noise omfg
Thank you very much Sam you are the best :D

Donkey Rollers - Followers Cat Nr: FUSION 028-5 Released 2005 on Vinyl
What was the plug-in chain/signal path in order? Thanks to who ever knows.
Wow, Nice! Thank U very much sam!
808 is generally a bass synthesizer, a 909 is basically a drum synthesizer.
At the part where he was talking about the 3 parts of the kick, did he say the punch was 50 ms? or 15? I guess 50 right?
Yeah , I'm also using CamelCrusher. I found out that the crackle appears right in the freq range that I'm distorting. So pretty annoying.. Is this better with other plugins?
it's cos there was no compressor or limiter on the recording so the loud kicks drowned out the speech when it was normalised
Ok I will try that. Thanks!
I love my oscilloscope, every nerd must own one :D
Really really cool!!!!
I believe it is 50ms also. Only one way to find out, experiment!
Let your kick's tail have a little more attack and then use a normal 909 for the punch. This way your kick will 'move' more and you'll have a brighter kick!
How do u pitch kicks without losing the bass on high notes
An update on this topic would be lovely. So much have happened in the hardstyle scene since this was produced. ❤
Epic 💥👌
I always have a crackle-sound in my kick. The kick itself sounds alright , but I can't get the crackle out. Somebody knows how to?
this guy is awesome
RIP headphone users
What is the vsti audiofreq is talking about that he always uses instead of drumazon?
You ever change tshirt sam?
Next Episode?
Where can I get these hardstyle cakes?
1 question, where is part 2 ? :)
so zany really is the godfather
whats the name of the Donkey rollers track?
How do you get that span settings? mine is green and less precies
how much has used DB in High Pass Eq ?? with first Eq ?? 6
db or 12 ??
Thought it was called a 808, not a 909?
Turn the captions on for big lawls
does anyone know what he meant when he said "room that you have to distort" at 29:26?
you pitch it. whit wavelab.
are these schools in Europe?
more volume for Sam aka Audiofreaq. less for his kicks :p
Oh oke thanks! :)
yeah episode 2 pls:)

what spectrum analyzer does he use?
Voxengo SPAN, it's a freeware plugin, just google it and it should come up
hahahah epic!
Well he greeted the students in Dutch. You might make your own conclusions from that :D
It's too quiet. :C
No, the first guy is not audiofreq
