Depending on how much you love your old bikes, you can invest 200 Eur to get them sanded and painted with powder coating. This of course is way over budget to get an old bike useable again but if you want to sell it or just make it look new. I know there are ways to remove paint and spray paint yourself, but it's a PITA.
@@unbalancedcrankDepends. If it's a collector's item, you're right. If it's just one of 1000s and in a very bad shape, I prefer to see the bike beeing used again. And most people want shiny bikes.

Great work. Regarding the wheels: Ryde rims are priced around 25 Euro so in such a case I won't take any risk of injuries. Maybe spokes can be reused.

It’s only original once! Leave the factory paint unless you want to de-value it.
