Fantastic seeing this long forgotten gem brought back to life Tom. . Thanks for donating your time in restoring this beauty. What a gem to own from this era in this nick.
Can't think of a better person to restore it. Bet it was brilliant working on such a beautiful vintage machine. I wonder if there are people left today who made them? Would be amazing if you could talk to someone who built those bikes?
Great craftsmanship and a beautiful bike. I'm currently restoring a war-time Raleigh and you have given me a few ideas. I love the front brake lever - is it original? Many thanks again for sharing your great restoration. All the best.
We’ve got a neat tv show over here called American Pickers. It’s a pretty entertaining program about these two guys (sometimes more) who collect old stuff out of people’s home and abandon properties etc... One of the men is a bicycle guy and he hunts for very old bikes and parts. You can’t watch and not learn a few cool things. Possibly you can get the show over your way? I bet it’d hold your attention. 👍
The saddle cost me a bit to get fixed as it ended up going to a leather smith everybody that looked at it said it was to far gone but then again none of them would listen to what I wanted I didnt want a mint condition restored saddle that looks brand new I wanted a visible repair that shows it's got some history And that's what I got from charles a new aged and distressed front section simply riveted on to the old part all the other parts wasn't expensive just hard to find
Cool it is nice to see a repair some times looks a lot better and keeps the history of the bike. I bet it was hard to get original parts as well but it is worth it as you have done a brilliant job mate keep it up.
If a guy was going to make a sort of replica or tribute to a path racer, what kind of bars might you recommend? Are they just cruiser handlebars-upside down? Thank you in advance. Beautiful restoration!
What a cracking bike and a fabulous restoration!! Well done Tom it’s a piece of art. I find lots of pieces of old bikes on the 1920 dump in Holland, wonder if they had that kind of bike over here?
Tom I really like the look of this video. Could you recommend a Video editing program? I got a GoPro for Christmas,...and once I figure the silly thing out (didn’t come with directions!) I’ll be eager to start editing. Best, Cathryn
I have restored classic cars in the past so I can appreciate your efforts. Very retro cool. Well done!!
