I've watched his All Starr Band shows several times each. Ringo always puts a kick ass line up together and the music is great. Thank you Ringo! Peace and Love!
I used to think 'Ringo sucked', but these all star bands are FANTASTIC,.. give them a minute to sink in.... these guys don't usually play together. They're helping, or having help on songs they made famous with other folks... it's fantastic really.
if he was only thecatalyst for this band and then did nothing but suck his thumbs this is some freakin incredible renditions of some of rocks greatest hits done by some unbelievable musicians who cearly love playing this music together
Ringo is a great drummer. The whole “Ringo isn’t a good drummer” thing is total BS. Listen to “Rain” or “She said she said” by the Beatles and check out his amazing playing. Not to mention all the famous drum parts he played like “Ticket to Ride” “Come Together” etc. he’s not a great songwriter of course but his vocals on something like “little help from my friends”
Yes...they had to learn each other's songs, and this is great stuff. I wish the camera had spent more time on Timothy B Schmit's bass during Bang the Drum (Todd Rundgren). Sometimes the bass player doesn't get the recognition and attention he/she deserves. Bang the Drum had Timothy playing a kick ass bass line, and he rocked it. 💟
I saw this collection of all-Starrs at the Summerfest main stage in Milwaukee and it was one of the most memorable shows. Great performance by everyone and Ringo really gets into it
One common thread is Joe Walsh. Joe Walsh and Timothy B Schmit have both been members of the Eagles for decades. Joe and Ringo are married to sisters. Are there other common threads? 🙂
One of the best lineups ever - Burton Cummings, Todd Rundgren, Joe Walsh, Nils Lofgren, Timothy B. Schmidt, Dave Edmonds and the one and only Ringo. For 2 whole hours. WOW!
I agree, Ringo's strongest lineup, along with his first All Starr Band (Joe, Nils, Dr. John, Billy Preston, Leon Helm, Rick Danko, Clarence Clemons, Jim Keltner).
The All Starr Band is: Ringo Starr, Zak Starkey, Timmy Cappello, Todd Rundgren, Dave Edmons, Joe Walsh, Timothy B Schmit, Nils Lofgren, and Burton Cummings
In an interview on UA-cam, Ringo talks about being left-handed, but plays a right-handed drum kit. This was new information for me! Am I the last one to know? 😊 Southpaw Factoid: Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits is left handed, but plays guitar right-handed. I wonder if that somehow contributes to his great guitar playing.
Seen them that year in Belgium at the beach- festival with the same line-up . Still not forgotten . Also the cloudburst on the way back home . Terrible 😅
Having seen a later version of the All Stars, I think they're just out there having fun. Don't take it too seriously. But seriously good musicians. I saw a line up which included Steve Lukather, and the Toto songs were amazing.
I've seen that lineup many times now. I enter Lukather heaven every time. Seeing a similar lineup in two days, at a benefit for Ed Asner's foundation. It includes Stone Temple Pilots and Hoobastank as well as Toto and Joe Bonamassa. The anticipation is fun.
I think Don and Glenn (rest in peace) keep the lanes pretty narrow and controlled. It's no surprise that the other members break out a bit when they have the chance. 😊
Timothy B schmidt. He was in poco and became the eagles bass player after Randy meisner I believe. He’s also a sought after backup vocalist for obvious reasons. He sings backup on a bunch of Steely Dan records along with Michael McDonald. That’s not bad having those two sing backup on your records
@@steelyd2 Yes...he's done tons of backup work: the list is long. I've watched a bunch of his interviews, and I think he has mentioned Toto, Linda Ronstadt, Beach Boys, America, Elton John, CSN, Jimmy Buffet, Ringo, Firefall, and Bozz Scaggs. Factoid: it was Timothy who coined the name Parrotheads for Jimmy Buffet fans. 🦜
Full marks Burton Cummings. Nils Lofgren clearly the top lead guitarist on show, and nice Shine On also. These two are absolutely top musician - so musical. [Hard to believe Nils was in E-Band for Bruce Springsteen) As for Joe Walsh, barely coherent and rather sloshy - sober? Rocky Mountain Way yeah yeah yeah. Todd Rungren on lead guitar in Girl's Talk excruciating - I know its a New Wave song but ..
Todd's performances with the All Stars are not always they might be. On one song, he forgets the words, and starts a different song. But... there is a video of Live From Daryl's House with Todd Rundgren. Surprisingly, it was taped at Todd's home in Hawaii. Todd and Daryl sing Last Ride, and it's pretty great. Don't miss it.
that is a great lineup but ringo turned me off with that first song. I gather he wrote that one and should of stuck to drumming. To each his own, thanks for the contribution
@@MichiganAtheists thank you for the clarification, I should not have implied that he wrote it as I didn't know. I should have clearly stated that I was turned off by ringos performance
Nils Lofgren's solo on 'I can't tell you why' superb... simply superb ... Respected the original melody and added his magic ...
This version outdoes the Eagles 🦅
In the 'Official Video' of I Can't Tell You Why, Don Felder played it. There is lots of confusion about this, but it seems Glenn Frey played it on the record. Maybe.

How could you say that about Ringo? He never sucked he was the drummer of the greatest band in the whole world.
you thought Ringo sucked because you have poor taste. cheers
Girls Talk is such an underrated song. Love Dave Edmunds!
Great music still going strong makes me very happy listening to ringo he is a legend 😊😊🎉🎉🎉❤
Great music 🎵 played by great musicians. These guys are genuine rockers. Luv them all
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am a serious Burton Cummings fan. Criminally underrated.
My long time favorite. I love him! I've been since I was a little girl back in my home country. I live in U.S. now. I wish I could meet him one day.
... Sorry to hear that, Cummings is a great singer.
... I got the CD of this band.
... Cummings singing, great!
A voice like no other!
Few musicians can sing as well as Burton Cummings!
My wife and I saw this concert. Incredibly fun.

Ringo rocks on forever, love ya TimothyB, always 💞❌⭕️❌
Burton Cummings!!!! ❤🎵
Good stuff
I saw this stellar lineup in Boston, one of the best concerts l ever attended! Pure MAGIC!
Any band with Ringo for a drummer is so lucky!
What about the beatles
Omg, lmfao when I saw Joe Walsh walk by with the big drum, that was good!
Out of all Ringo's All Starr band shows, this group is the very best of them! What a bundle of awesome musicians!
For a group of guys that don't play together often sure had some bad ass vocal harmonies !
One common thread is Joe Walsh. Joe Walsh and Timothy B Schmit have both been members of the Eagles for decades. Joe and Ringo are married to sisters.

Tim is just solid, reliable, and good. The world is a better place with him in it.
The All Starr Band is:
Ringo Starr, Zak Starkey, Timmy Cappello, Todd Rundgren, Dave Edmons, Joe Walsh, Timothy B Schmit, Nils Lofgren, and Burton Cummings
Nils did a nice job on “I Can’t Tell You Why”. Smooth how some of the bends verged on feedback. Like he knew a beautiful solo was his responsibility.
yeeessss...PEACE AND LOVE ....
Next time the All Starr Band tours, I hope one of these guys tours with Ringo and maybe get Mark Rivera back in the band too.
I just Love This Band....Thank you All My Friends...I Just Love it....

A lot of vocal power up there! I wish the recording quality was better, but a great performance from all the musicians...

Like a big ol' garage band. A really good big ol' garage band.
Yes! 😆
Wow amazing they get a group like that together.
Why aren’t the first 4 or more Ringo Starr All Starr Band concerts officially released on DVD Blu Ray like all the ones from 2002 to this day?
my name is billy shears and it has been for so many years, thanks ringo we all know too
Who is Billy Shears??

The Joe Walsh songs from this concert are the best performances ever, even better than with The Eagles.
I think Don and Glenn (rest in peace) keep the lanes pretty narrow and controlled. It's no surprise that the other members break out a bit when they have the chance. 😊
Everybody loves a Joe Walsh tune.
Other than "Ordinary Average Guy," however, he doesn't seem to have written any classic ones after the seventies.
Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!
Livre : Ringo Starr 80 ans ! Une chronologie commentée (éditions AO).
Dave Edmonds is my favorite guitar player in this band.
Love that first song.. I’m pretty sure John wrote it for him.
Claro, es de tercer LP de Ringo de 1973.

Hoyt Axton and David Jackson 🎼

When is this entire concert going to be officially released on DVD & Blu-ray?

classic group leap at 24 minutes into
AMERICAN WOMAN ALL OF THEM
The Real Rock Crowd We Were.

No... maybe it's your phone!
How much better can it get, BURTONS guitar players are Joe Walsh and Dave Edmunds, backup singers Nils, Todd ,,,

Nils

Why is the Sound so second rate on this?
Considering how big these guys are you'd think the Sound wouldn't be so muffled, even if it's live.
