How long before the cracks projected through the coatings? You need to fill the cracks full depth with a low viscosity penetrating epoxy for any chance of the repair holding and even then it is risky.

What is it about concrete epoxy videos that everyone has to jump in with “oh you should’ve done X or hired a pro”. Like it’s a 1 car garage - who cares. It’s better than it was before and not everyone jeeeds 8 layers or something that would survive a nuclear bomb. Obviously a DIYer won’t do as good a job as a professional.

1.5 years on, are you still happy with the results? Have cracks reappeared?

So far so good! None of the cracks have reappeared and it looks just as it did on day one. I expect it to last many years more before needing some tlc.

When you already fixed the cracks and made it even why not just clear coat it? Just tedious

Yeh but. Won't the shifting, heaving, expansions and contractions which caused the cracking in the beginning just crack the new surface next season? I am not trolling. I am not a concrete pro at all and my pours ALWAYS crack a little somewhere. So I can't preach to anyone. It is just I was always taught you had to cure the root cause of cracking in any material (flooring, ceilings, exterior paint, driveways, rust on a car, etc.) before sealing the surface. If I am wrong, please let me know for sure. I am one of those folks who love being shown when I am wrong because it means I learn something.

I have repaired concrete before, and I can't for the life of me, understand why you would go to all the trouble you went to, to make that slab look as awsome as you did, and not remove and replace all the broken chunks of concrete. What did that save you? 5 or 6 sacks of bagged concrete? If you deduct the cost of the expensive crack filler it might offset some of the cost of the concrete. And in time, when the same old cracks show through, will it have been worth the effort or just a waste of time?
That depends on the ultimate goals.
If you're trying to teach people how to do something you don't know how to do as if you are an expert? Check.
If you got hired to do a job you don't know how to do and make as much money as possible? Check
If the whole purpose is to make a video which will teach the unknowing that you are smarter than you really are? Check
Making a video. That's it isn't it? The goal is to make a video. Subject matter be damned. And I don't want to say that stupid people will like, enjoy and find no fault with this video, because people aren't stupid, but many are unaware. Someone will watch this video and repeat your actions and then they can have a floor to be proud of for a year or two. Or for a month or two. Or a week or two. Or until they drive on it?
But hey, at least you made a video.
But wait, is it really just making the video or is it the monetization of the video that is the goal? You tube doesn't regulate mediocrity and but it monetizes it. Failure is rewarded by UA-cam but isn't giving money for mediocrity and failure the same as giving awards to a student for a final score of 63 on his shop course?
But that's capitalism. Pursuit of a dollar justifies everything. And anything.
I would like to see another monetized video from you on repairing this floor correctly, pointing out the errors and documenting what you learned from this and how to do it right. Do it after it starts cracking. Only, it's already started. Seek and ye shall find, the cracks were there before you finished. They might not show immediately on you tube but if that slab is driven on, it's only a matter of time.
I don't know if this is trolling or not. I am disagreeing with the methods used in this video. I think it is bad advice that you are giving. Someone will replicate your methods to the same end. Wouldn't it be humorous to find a link to this video in the training section provided by the bagged concrete mix suppliers under the title "How not to repair concrete." ?
Humorous? That depends on your perspective?
Appropriate? For sure. If it keeps one of you're subscribers from having to do their floor twice. Is that respecting your subscribers or is that treating them like marks?
Is that question unfair? They aren't marks if you're intentions weren't to farm them for views is it? Do views turn into coin? Should that question have asked, "farm them for coin"?
They are just people. Who cares? If through the reach of the internet we find that it doesn't hurt us to hurt someone we don't know for coin, then what's to stop us from just telling people that we are a Nigerian Prince? In that case, the amount monetized grows as the story grows. Hey, that's capitalism, right. Get all that you can from whoever you can using any means necessary to make your position stronger and the other person... well, who cares? Right? Yeah, and hey, couldn't this same rationale be used to justify the Ukraine getting invaded?
In today's America, doesn't capitalism supercede integrity?
Doesnt capitalism teach us that any means available is acceptable in the pursuit of dollars.
What else can the end goal of capitalists be but to have all of the money ending up in the hands of one man? Them.
Whether that was Ghengis Khan or Attila the Hun in the past or is Putin, Xi, Elon, Bezos, Biden, Trump or any of the world's other leaders and oligarchs now, isn't the goal always the same? Doesnt it seem like they are all thinking to themselves "All for me and my ilk and for the rest, f___ 'em. F___ 'em all".
The Supreme Court (Supreme? Hah, hah) says that a dollar bill is more important than people.
How can any man think that money is more important than mankind? How can a person whose skill in life is to be good at objectively analyzing, be so wrong as to decide that an inanimate object is more important than their own species? They cant. As a member of a species, it is self destructive to the species. It goes against survival of the species. But If you give a person enough money, they will read from a script as though it is their own words just like all those idiots who took crypto's money for commercials did. Because humans don't care about survival of the species. OK, some do but, overall we don't care if everyone else all dies horrifically. As long as they die. And we get their money. Or as long as it changes nothing in our own lives. What's wrong with that? What's wrong with "more" for me. It's the American way right?
    What's wrong with that?
So you aren't any different than any of the rest of us are you?
We are all on the same road dude.
Just do you're homework before you turn it in next time.
You did a lot of work.
It looks great and the work you put into this project deserves to be rewarded with longevity.
But it won't. You will have to settle for the monetization. Hey, take what you can get right? Power to ya. If you make enough off this video maybe you can hire it done next time. Think of how many views you can harvest from that!
Yes, I'm grumpy and you didn't deserve all of that.
But you deserved some of it.
Boiled down, it applies to almost all of us.
Some of us humans ain't human. Are we?
