The reviewer is spot on. I own the same car and this is the greatest car ever made. Supreme power and ultimate comfort. Buy one...you will not be disappointed.
Nice review! Its easy to tell you know your cars, as you concentrate on the elements that matter to DRIVERS, rather than nit-picking the navigation interface, hands-free phone, etc.... stuff I personally don't give rat's #$@ about, but somehow has become an obsession with car journalists.
Excellent review - I have the non-supercharged 5.0L convertible, which is powerful enough. Compared to some 'supercars', the Jaguar is understated, more reliable and more practical. Luxury GT motoring doesn't come any prettier or better - unless to buy the new (2017) Bentley Continental GT for £175,000 - and even then some would say the 2012 XK is more beautiful. Well done Mr Callum - Mr Lyons would be proud of you...
Just to clarify, it is almost impossible to engineer - and inefficient - to try to hold an engine output at exactly one figure, even a relatively 'flat' torque curve keeps bending; but you can quote a rpm band within which the engine achieves at least say 90% of its maximum. That's what I meant by undriveable, it would just feel like a huge flat spot across most of the rev range. I also know something about the max speed limiter, which can be easily exceeded, but that's enough now!!
Glad you liked it. Some inside info (I work right next to the factory) which would be 100% denied by them - you say the 510ps (503bhp) feels like more, it is - to get round the German Truth Police, the 503 is anywhere between 6000-6500rpm, it actually peaks I'm told around 525 in between; similarly torque quoted @ 460lbft all the way from 2500-5500, real figure c500 in between. No car can have a flat torque line, it would be undriveable. Not unique to Jag; MB etc have been doing this for years.
This is 510 HP, how often you really need that much HP unless you live in a area where has no speed limit. My Bimmer has 350 HP which is more than enough, and I already got 12 speeding tickets for the past 3 years.
It is very impressive, I had a drive test with my friend who happens 6'2" tall, so his head is up to the ceiling after he gets in, I am 5' 8' which is okay. This car is not made for tall person.
Nope that was the problem with jag being owned by ford ! . Since 07-08 they have been tata motors owned and designed an Indian company their work speaks for its self and quality!!

I just did. It's superlative!
Best car ever made is a bit of a stretch when cars like the Mclaren F1 exist but I get your point.
@@stanleysimmonsreactions9056 The Mclaren f1 isn't affordable to most humans but the Jag is.
No, I get that for sure however, that doesn't automatically make it the greatest car of all time.@@bigmacdaddy1234

5:17 Those accelerations were so thrilling that I almost felt like I was driving! Sounds fun as f***!
It's not a Jagwaa ..it's a Jaguar...spoke 'Jag U ar'..you actually do speak the U and there is no W...FFS
"Dude... Id lose my license with this car". I was thinking the same thing about myself...
great video...
¿CUÁNDO VOLVERÁ JAGUAR EN MANOS DE TATA A SER AUTÉNTICA?
I hope he lets you drive it...that is an amazing car. I really enjoyed driving it, it felt brand new when I had it.

Favourite part of this review (which is spot on).

I'm 6-2 and fit fine in mine. I had an XK8 prior and THAT one was a bit small inside.
I am 6ft 2in tall and sit very comfortably in the Jag XK, with the seat at it's lowest seat height.
where is over 510Hp useable in the UK outside of a trackday?
Darryld1 where not? :)
Darryld1 where not? :)
Everywhere that isn't a track :)
Great considering it nothing more than a unique designed body on top of a Mustang. Who owns Jaguar? Ford! its really that simple.
Ford sold Jaguar and Landrover to Tata Motors in 2008. The 5th largest vehicle manufacturer in the world. Can you say India. Mustang?

Yeah, for sure!! I looked at a pic of mustang V8 and the V8 in my XJ and I couldn't tell them apart. LOL!!!!
