I worked on Slave Zero X (one of the games intended to be at MIX) as art director/lead artist - Jirard really came through for us when it seemed like all was lost, and I can't believe we got to be on Noclip to boot! Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this happen! The shoutout given to us was incredibly kind of you!

@@StefanConstantinDumitrache Greg Wilmot, Jirard's former partner in the TOVG business, he appeared in videos years ago before the two had a falling out and he left.
If you notice Jirard's New Game Plus videos on his channel it came as a result of Greg sending Jirard a legal notice to remove every video with Greg in it or there'd be further legal action.
@@John-bj1zx "for no reason", Greg was forced out of the channel he co-created and went to try and do his own thing, everyone hated on him for walking away and leaving jirard as they didn't know the truth, sick of constantly being attacked online Greg asked for the videos he co-created to be taken down or Greg would get a lawyer and get the 50% ownership of the channel that he deserves, Jirard complied.
Greg wanted to walk away and be left alone but Jirard couldn't help but paint him as the bad guy and greg wanted nothing to do with it all.

It’s so sick that Jirard and his team saved this event. I don’t know anything about running an event like this but for his team to pull this off on short notice shows how talented and devoted they are.
I heard about this on Giant bomb so this is so great to see this in action. Great job to Jirard as always and awesome job to Frank for making this known.
As an indie game dev it's incredibly hard to get noticed, so I'm so happy to see this support to different games, the comment, the like, the demo play really matters to all devs. Thanks for highlighting this.

I actually liked this little indie games but Gori Cuddly Carnage really stood out to me. I'll be looking more into these games and I'm pretty sure more of them will stand out to me afterwards. Great video 👍

I did not hear anything about this before watching this video. I'm moved by how this came together despite horrible setbacks. Jirard is a treasure and a fucking beautiful human being. If I was one of the devs who were hoping to show off their game at this event I would be devastated at it's cancellation. Especially if I came from overseas on a flight. No force on earth could stop me from giving the people saving this event a big hug and a thank you note in the mail. Incredible and inspiring.

@@analoren4745 Evidence came to light that then became his responsibility to explain. Since then, he not has not, but has also, at the very least, been caught in multiple deceptions.
I don’t claim to know, with certitude, his motivation, all of the details, or the true contents of his heart and character, but if you think nothing that’s come out thus far qualifies as being substantial enough to make you even slightly re-evaluate certain aspects of your view of the man, then that can only be described as willful denial to confront unpleasant truths and I wish you luck with that.
It will likely be a hard stance to sustain as more comes out, and the earlier you’re able to admit to yourself that a person who may be mostly good still did a very bad thing, the better.

@@juansotelo3996 Nothing has changed lol? yeah he absolutely should take accountability for not being honest about donated money and completely open the book and what is going on with the charity, and by the sounds of the information his direct family may be more to blame than him about the actual misallocation of the funds which can totally allude to shady intent, but that doesn't change the fact he did a good thing here that was a net positive for these developers, like he's also done in the past outside of this charity news. You can do good things for people and be genuine about the intent in them while also making big mistakes, knowingly or otherwise. There's a difference between someone messing up on a big scale but (hopefully) owning to their mistakes and taking steps to correct it, or becoming Boogie2988.

Besides, he already HAD the chance to be honest about it.. but instead he continued lying even after having supposedly "learning" the truth.

Jirard and the TOVG team are such great people. I’ve met Jirard twice now in person and he is just as wonderful now as he was years ago in the early days of the Completionist.
Indie devs are terrific people too.
I thought at the top of this that this might’ve been a hidden origin story behind Jirard’s own Indieland event. It’s stunning to see how he and his team came to the rescue to give these devs the space and time they deserve. It’s a downright shame the fire marshall couldn’t have figured out a way to work things out with the event organizers, but it’s good to hear things more or less worked out in the end.

Slave Zero X looks super sick! I wish some of these would have got exposure on that joke of a stage show just to showcase there's still some semblance of a soul left in the industry. But Jirard earned a lot of points in my book for doing this.
