I have never seen cassava peeled like that! In Guyana we take a sharp tip knife and slit the skin from the top to bottom, straight line, then you pry the skin out from the slit, right to left and left to right!
Yes my Amerindian family do the same, slit a line and pry the skin off. They have a grater over a bowl then into a special basket to press the water out, then the water is starch, and casareep, for curing meat and making cassareep stew, with any kind of meat.
we have a similar recipe in Mauritius, we call it ' galette manioc' . thicker like a crêpes and sweeter .
Do you have the recipe pls? Thx
we do have a thicker one im Haiti made with mire sugar called galette and it also has more coconut
My grandma used the starch to iron my uniforms for school! Reminded me of my childhood with my grandma.
Thank you
If you mix with corn flour, almidon (yuca flour), cheese and butter you have a MBEJU a traditional food of Paraguay :)
That I can try
Ahhh sanblew tipiti sa te leve ak granmoun wi, great job
Wi mte leve ak granmoun merci
You can use a soft bowl or plate to press your cassava to prevent burning your hand
You did a good job even though it was 4 years ago, thanks.
If I could I would give you the 500 likes. You deserve it! I appreciate your work a lot. Thank you for sharing on how to make cassava.
I love cassave my mom makes it HAITIAN GANG WHERE YOU AT?
🇭🇹💤
For the cassava bread lady. Easy way to peal a yuca is to cut the ends off and make a slit. Take the knife and pull open the skin.it will pop even.with out scraping
Cecilia, great to know. I'll do that. Thanks!
@@ikigai3232 yuca is my favorite. My TIENO ansisster made this bread. When my granny died she took her resapy to the grave. You revived it for me thanks.
After seeing your vidéo, i' m doing it now. Thank you si Much.
I love casave bread. Taino still runs through our blood.
Well sis, hope this counts towards your 500!
Btw, in Jamaica this is called bammie!
One love.
As a young lady, you are doing such a good job in the Haitian kitchen!!! Keep up the excellent work!!! God Bless!!! Stay Safe!!!
Thanks for sharing this recipe. I always wanted to know how to make kassav
Suggestion: use a cheese cloth next time to squeeze out the juice ....I think it will make ur job easier

I am trying to eat natural and mostly Haitian foods for the next weeks. I did some manba and was desperate to find it’s friend kassav. Thankkk you. Btw you can peel yuks and coconut with the regular peeling knife. It works perfect. Merci encore
I made the recipe yesterday! Thank you so much for the video! It is a lot of work my my ! Prenez soins de vous ! Xox
Finally! I've been looking for this recipe for days. I had it in Antigua a long time ago, and it is called bambula there. Thank you!
I tried cassava for the first time today!! Although it was store bought... it launched me into making it for myself... sooo using your recipe I’ll try it!! I planning my first trip also to Dominican next year also... Thank you for the great video!!

I love Kasav and though very labor intensive, I can see myself making this. Thanks!
A tortilla maker should work well for this. Li dificil pou ou jwen bon casav fré nan maket. Et. Ou jwen farine manioc ou bien manioc grajé nan Costco

I love your channel!!! 😍 Do you have a recipe for Haitian peanut butter
Thank you no I don't have one yet.
Please, do not add sugar if you already put coconut. I really love it.
Hi, this comment is a bit late, but I loved your video! Every other video has some weird ingredient that revolves around Coconut, more wheat flour then actual cassava flour, or just plain out weird ingredients you would never normally have in your kitchen! All of your ingredients are already close to hand, and easy to use! What I would love is if you put a link in your description to the recipe, or a list of said ingredients. Thank you for making this wonderful video!
I tried
Was good
Thank you! I really enjoy the touch that you put in it.
I hope this makes 500 likes. Anyhow; this looks great. I believe this dish is called Bami in Jamaica. It looks very familiar.
Good job girl❤
I think this is why God made cassava flour! :D eta: and coconut flour or dedicated coconut and tapioca flour/starch (the white stuff that forms on the bottom of the bowl)
It’s my favorite cassave avec coconut

I made it :) Ok, I made it without the coconut because I forgot to buy some. It actually came out pretty good but I was hoping to figure out how to make it like the one I usually buy on the street in Haiti. How do you make it more dense like that?

Why don't you blend the grated coconut with the grated yucca?
I was thinking the same thing
Beatrice Bruny, hmmmm that's a good idea. What would be the best option using the blender to get the grated (similar) texture?
Yesss

Nice video. Do you know how to make pen mayi? If so, can you please make a video on how to make it? And by the way yes I do eat lamidon, it's like eating "tè" to me. Lol

Hi. Can you make epinard with beef or pork? And beyen?
I both videos on the channel browse the channel to find it.
😊😊😊😊 new subscriber
Why didn’t you show us how much flame under the pan, high, med, or low?
Maybe you should have added the coconut and sugar right in the cassava then cook it thinner? Looks delish. I like the one without the coconut because of allergy to coconut
Can I make it in a pancake pan??
La Beaute Ritz yes you can.
I like this one you making. I don't like the hard one
