Fun fact, my wife is the voice of Hibana for the English version, Wikipedia has the incorrect first name and misspelled her last name with a “S” missing. Our oldest son was able to sit with the sound engineer as his mom made the fighting noises which he thought was great and came home to tell me the grunts and woo haa sounds.
The PS2 had so many good games that it was too hard to play them all in a lifetime, let alone a single generation.
I’ll agree there! It had an insane amount of games.
There were also a lot of stinkers and shovelware like most Game Boy Advance games, which meant most good games getting overlooked
suffering from success
@@kindmulberry7196 True, there's a lot of shovelware on the PS2, but that can be said for virtually any console. The PS2 has an absurd number of games in its library. Not every game is going to be San Andreas or God of War 2, but I don't think "most" of the good games got overlooked. There were just a lot of great games that flew under people's radars for various reasons.
@@bluebillygrit1 Yeah true, the PS2 and GBA both have huge libraries so there's obviously going to be more contamination, but at the same time there's more good games to choose from as qell
Respect to this channel for actually consistently picking out genuine deep cuts and hidden gems. So many places do lists like these and then add in such obvious and well known picks
Thanks Dan!
@@thatvideogamesshow no worries mate, have been subbed for a while and always find a game or two ive never even seen before to try out, so appreciate the suggestions!
Top 10 hidden PS2 gems
1: Final Fantasy X
2: MGS3: Snake Eater
3: Kingdom Hearts
@@left4shred406 Dude FF X and Kingdom Hearts aren't hidden, their well known.
@@kevynhansyn2902 yes, thats the point. Look at the comment I replied to. Note that mgs3 is also well known.
You always feature some pretty interesting looking games. I keep binging your channel because of it. I swear though, the PS2 really is an endless gold mine.
Facts, still one of.my.fav systems because there are so many friggin games it's just legit endless
Couldn't agree more. STILL finding Ps2 games that are new to me in 2022. Amazing!
Great list man, PS2 is my favorite console of all time. Such a massive library and crazy variety, I feel like I could play PS2 games for the rest of my life and still not get through them all
Those years were great for all consoles and pc back then. So much variety and risk taking.
Unlike today where most AAA games all feel the same and are afraid to take risks. Nah, gotta milk them soulless microtransactions, loot boxes, and NFTs.
@@Gruntvc word, not to mention every game has day 1 patches now like they don't even bother to fix the bugs before they release the game
@@Gruntvc , and gachas.
The sword is a great companion in the beginning!
Jokes aside - I absolutely love the Bouncer. Its the most PS2 square game of all time haha
Haha teach me to double check the video 😅 same here, such a good game!
The sword is a great companion in the beginning!
The bouncer was full of cutscenes and the combat wasn't to clever
The sword is a great companion in the beginning!
@@thatvideogamesshow is just trying to teach us some facts with reiteration.
Shinobi and Kuinichi was great, those two games played so well and were so challenging. The sword craving blood made you move continuously to satisfy it. It was stressful yet fun
it definitely led to some bullshit deaths, though.
@@GiordanDiodato the sword wasn't a problem for me, it made for a couple of tense moments but usually I'd get a couple of kills in a timely fashion. I'd say the platforming and some of the bosses killed me more often, Nightshade's last boss was brutal to beat, nearly broke the controller a few times while in Shinobi starting at stage 4 onwards that was when I felt the game really kicks into full gear (Though stage 3 wasn't the easiest at first) and it made you work to win, got stuck on stage 6 for a looooong time because of the boss in the hallway. The last boss took a few tries but it was a loooooooong fight until I figured out what to do.
Great games though, too many my laptop isn't the best to play those games on an emulator.
I thought I had play a lot of PS2 games, but coming here and finding things I missed in the early days, shows you how much of a definition for an era was the PS2
Loved Spartan Total Warrior! Interesting note about Nanobreaker: you can play as Keith - the main enemy. After beating the game with Keith you can unlock and play as Jaguar from NeoContra (PS2)
The Bouncer was the first game I got when I got a ps2 when I was young. I am 35 now, and it still remains one of my tope 5 best/favorite games out there. Kinda reminded me of Fighting Force 64, but with some rpg-like things, cooler environments, better story etc. I really loved that game. They dont, and likely wont, make games like this anymore.
I'm glad you finally tackled a game from Fromsoftware's old library. Would love to see you shed some light over more of their old stuff.
I am personally a fan of the armored core franchise
I was one of the games testers for airblade in 2001. Pretty neat little game. It's amazing how far it evolved and developed into it's final product. But damn, playing that game for 15 hours a day during crunch time.....
That’s awesome! Haha I can imagine 😅
@@thatvideogamesshow I also tested the original burnout. Criterion before EA were amazing
The Bouncer and Midnight Run were the first two games I got with my PS2, absolutely blew me away at the time, especially The Bouncer's graphics, that super blurry anti-aliasing does make it look incredibly smooth. Didn't get a memory card for a while so The Bouncer's short story mode was quite handy haha...
Totally agree man, the bouncer looked incredible for its time!
The bouncer was the first game I ever played on PS2. We after amazed by the graphics at the time. Tekken Tag was the second game I played
I still own the bouncer official t-shirt i got with the game when It got out
@@ilteschio8244 Nice! Love me some collectible T-shirts, 9/10 times if I'm buying a T-shirt I'll pop onto eBay and buy a 2nd hand collectible, if I'm going to buy a T-shirt, may as well get something with some additional value and meaning behind it at the same time haha... Got 3 Playstation shirts, an Intel one, and lots of brewery/beer ones.
I love channels like yours that actually show off real hidden gems instead of regurgitating the same games over and over. It reminded me that in the last 20 years, I've BARELY scratched the surface of what the PS2 has to offer. Thank you for your service.
Yeah I like his channel for that and am playing many ps2 games I never played or heard of when I had one back then
It's interesting you can recognize Tetsuya Nomura's art style in The Bouncer, it's just like his art style Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends with You, and even Final Fantasy 8. Not a bad thing, it's just a neat art style!
I’ll second that!
@@thatvideogamesshow , I wish that The Bouncer had a much longer sequel with a map at least as large as one that was in True Crime: Streets of L.A., as well as new characters, enemies, weapons, and bosses.
The PS2 library is amazing! There are so many great and weird games. I just started playing Eternal Ring after buying it a while back, I even have the strategy guide for it.
I remember seeing The Bouncer in gaming magazines before the PS2 released. Man did it look amazing!
As someone who 100% completed War of the Monsters back in the day, I can't recommend it enough! There are a ton of unlockables, a few minigames, and even a bonus unlockable Sweet Tooth skin if you have a Twisted Metal Black save on your memory card! After playing it again recently, I can't believe just how well it controls for the time. Definitely pick it up, it's a blast 😁👍
Such a fun game man!
Incognito made most of my favorites on the PS2. Twisted metal black. War of the Monsters, and Downhill Domination. All great fun games.
@@thatvideogamesshow , here is a list of games that honestly need to be mentioned, played, respected, and talked about more for the PS2.
Black - While EA is mostly known for its revival of the Star Wars: Battlefront games and its Battlefield series (and Battlefield actually got its start for the PC and PS2), Black, despite being a bit generic, is actually a good looking FPS game for the PS2 that still holds up surprisingly well today. Yes, the game is a bit on the short side, and it lacks bosses, but Black honestly needs a better, as well as more expansive, sequel for modern video game platforms. If Psychonauts can get a good sequel, then so can this game.
Galactic Wresting Featuring Ultimate M.U.S.C.L.E. - This is arguably the last game to have the usage of the same wrestling game engine that THQ and AKI had used for such massive hits as WCW Vs. The World for the PS1, WCW Vs. NWO: World Tour and WCW/NWO: Revenge for the N64, Virtual Pro Wrestling 1 and 2 for the N64, WWF WrestleMania 2000 and WWF: No Mercy for the N64, and Def Jam: Vendetta and Def Jam: Fight for New York for the PS2. While the M.U.S.C.L.E. franchise had a poorly received NES/FDS video game back in the day, this game is actually a pretty good wrestling game in its own right with creation tools as robust as many WWE titles from the PS2 onward.
Phantom Brave - This game is brought to you by the people that brought you Disgaea, which is Nippon Ichi Software/NIS America, except that its story is completely unrelated to that particular franchise. However, this game is also a good game in its own right, as well as a very good, if not criminally underrated, SRPG in its own right, and its story is also a very good one.
La Pucelle: Tactics - Like the previous game, this game is an SRPG that was made by Nippon Ichi Software/NIS America. However, while that game had nothing to do with the world of Disgaea, this game is essentially Disgaea, but from the viewpoint of the heroes, which are typically villains, in the Disgaea series. However, like Phantom Brave, the story to this game is pretty good as well, and both of those games have very good English and Japanese dialogue and voices. Honestly, I prefer this game and Phantom Brave to Disgaea and I find their stories to be better overall.
Daisenryaku VII: Exceed - If you like things like World of Warships, World of Tanks, Risk, Stratego, Advance Wars, and anything that is like them, then this entry of the long running Daisenryaku series is right up your alley and it is also said to be the best entry in the entire series. (There is also a Daisenryaku VII game that is for the Xbox, but it also has less features than this game, yet it is also a good game in its own right).
The Adventures of Cookie & Cream - I heard about a game that is called It Takes Two be a super big hit for multiple current video game platforms and this game is also a very criminally underrated cooperative 3D action/platformer/puzzle/racing game that technically was kind of like that game, but it was made for the PS2, and its story is also considerably more lighthearted than that game.
Radiata Stories - This is Square Enix trying to make something different and it is kind of like a hybrid of its own JRPG of Chrono Cross, its own Mana JRPG series, and the Suikoden JRPG series that was made by Konami. This game, despite being made a well known video game studio, has consistently flown under the radar and literally no one talks about how great of a JRPG that this game was for the PS2, and, as of this writing, as far as I know, it has not had a re-release or remaster made, which is honestly disrespectful to this game.
Enthusia Professional Racing - Arguably an even stronger rival for Gran Turismo than R: Racing Evolution, which was mentioned in this video, Enthusia Professional Racing is the lone attempt by Konami to get into the simulation/arcade racing genre. Many things that this game did were actually, gasp, BETTER than what Sony did with its Gran Turismo games, but some of them were not as well done as the Gran Turismo series, and Konami should honestly not only revive, but also improve upon, this series, and, with most of its intellectual properties up for grabs by anyone that wants to work for Konami, now is honestly the best time to make a sequel to a criminally underrated racing game for the PS2.
Dororo: Blood Will Tell - This game is based upon a manga and an old Japanese legend about a baby that was born with demon parts and he has to get his human body back, or something to that extent. Basically, it is a cross between Shadow of the Colossus and the Onimusha and Devil May Cry franchises, but more like the last two franchises than Shadow of the Colossus. Still, you do fight big enemies and bosses on occasion, but the smaller enemies and bosses are just as tough as their larger counterparts.
Dr. Muto - Midway finally got an attempt at a kiddie character game and, while it is not perfect, as well as a bit too much of a collect-a-thon, it is still a good and mostly solid 3D action/platformer game.
(This message will continue in another post.)
@@thatvideogamesshow (This message is continued from the previous post.)
Test Drive Unlimited - While the Xbox 360 and PC ports of the game not only get all of the love, but also all of the aftermarket/custom modifications and hacks, especially the PC version of the game, the PS2 and PSP ports of the game are not bad themselves. Yes, the controls and AI are not always spot on (though those oversights are corrected in the PC port by a lot of modifications and hacks), it still plays pretty well, and, like R: Racing Evolution, and Racing Lagoon for the PS1, it too is kind of an RPG of sorts as well and it is also a pretty solid title, and this game, as well as its later sequel of Test Drive Unlimited 2, are the reasons why Test Drive Unlimited (3): Solar Crown is being made for all modern video game platforms. Also, the street map to this game is eerily accurate to what is on the real life version of Oahu...it is not a one for one bit of accuracy with that island, but it is done well enough to get you to approximately where you need to go, should you ever visit that part of Hawaii in real life. Yes, you read that right, this game has one of, if not THE, biggest map(s) to ever be in a PS2 video game, and, unlike nearly every other video game map, it is based upon a real world location.
Crimson Tears - Everyone talks about how good that God Hand is, how mediocre that Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance is, and they also even mention the controversy, and questionable story, of Final Fight: Streetwise, but no one talks about how underrated, as well as surprisingly good, that Crimson Tears is from Capcom on the PS2. Yes, the female characters look like they belong in an adult film and that their clothes are from an adult book/clothing store, but it is honestly a better version of The Ninja Warriors franchise that was made by Taito, and it is also in 3D. Also, Spike (now Spike Chunsoft) and DreamFactory helped Capcom make this underrated gem of a fighting game, so it has those things that are going for it as well.
True Crime: New York City - While this game is not as good as its predecessor, namely, True Crime: Streets of L.A., it is not as horrible as everyone says that it is for any of the platforms that it was released upon, but, at least its attempt to have a sequel led to the Square Enix franchise of Sleeping Dogs, so I guess that is kind of a win.
True Crime: Streets of L.A. - While True Crime: Streets of L.A. is the better game of this pair of games, both games had better combat, MUCH bigger areas to explore, and a MUCH better story than any of the Grand Theft Auto games for the PS2, and yet even Yakuza and Mafia get talked about more than this pair of games, though both of those franchises are also good in their own right. This video game series honestly needs a revival.
Also worth mentioning are these games:
Godzilla: Save the World
Chaos Legion
Shadow of Rome
Dokopan Kingdom
Deus Ex
Musashi: Samurai Legend (its prequel for the PS1, which is called Brave Fencer Musashi, is also a good game)

13:15 So the sword is a great companion in the beginning it seems.
It’s really good 😅
I miss “The Bouncer” kind of games, they were really easy to play, you didn’t have to be playing way too much to upgrade and was very linear, like you felt you only went forward (No frustration).
The intro music of your channel reminds me of my childhood, man. I loved Tekken 2 so much and used to watch that opening sooo many times in awe of the graphics [and I didn’t think hair tech would ever get better than Nina’s haha]
Tekken 2 was my jam! So many fond memories!
What a great list. I learned of Elden(I mean eternal) ring some time ago through random eBay shopping and thought the case looked sick. Your gameplay footage sold me. Dying to get it and Magnacarta
I couldn't get into Magna Carta.
I tried over and over and over, and I couldn't get use to the combat. I loved the art work, but the combat was not for me, I didn't get far at all.
13:13 the sword is a great companion in the beginning
I am still digging up various amazing games of PS1 and still stuck to it rather than going to PS2 games, since I didn't found that unique titles there, but this is slowly changing with your videos.
I know. I'm late. I got two: The Suffering & it's sequel (Ties That Bind) from Surreal Software (2004 & 2005, published by Midway Games). Horror shooter (both third and first person view are selectable) with great plot, characters, setting and pacing.
The remake of those would be great!
I have well over 400 good PlayStation 2 titles in my collection, I have not counted could be 500+ but the library was very large for the system and these videos help scope out one's I may of missed. I only collect what I would play one day. My PlayStation 1 library is bigger. I collect PAL, NTSC and NTSC-J.
Sounds like an awesome collection!
I only have 450 PS2 games, mostly NTSC (because I prefer 60hz) but also some PAL/NTSC-J but that's because I have the multiplatform titles on my OG Xbox instead, nearly 850 games including the console's exclusives. Most of what I'm missing on the OG Xbox are sports titles, there's way too many and my interest is very low.
@@Manic_Panic , ESPN NFL 2K5 is worth it for either system, trust me.
Ooh, Eternal Ring looks like an interesting play. Might have to try and check that out!
It well worth giving a go man 🙂

@@thatvideogamesshow Congratulations on nearly 65k !!!
kessen 2 didn't continue the story. Its an entire new game/story sharing the same base mechanics as kessen but improve upon it. Kessen is set to the late Sengoku Jidai period (early 1600s) in Japan, and is a very historical game while kessen 2 is a very fantasy Romance of the Three Kingdoms adaptation. Kessen 3 changes up its gameplay and borrows some fantasy elements from kessen 2 but tone it down. And is a prequel to the first kessen, and takes place in Japan mid to late 1500s.
Throwing Dual Hearts in there. Spiritual successor to Alundra made by the original studio, nobody seems to really know about it! Hidden gem.
Nightshade and Shinobi were pretty weird to control.
Gladius was a fun tactical rpg, Swashbucklers Blue vs Grey and Black Bucaneer were fun pirates games, Monster Attack and Global Defence Force were fun shooters on the PS2.
Shinobi hard af
Spartan Total Warrior's framerate, draw distance, and unit count are very impressive for a PS2 game! It makes sense seeing it's made by the Total War guys, but that's still quite the feat.
Totally agree, it was a right looker!
Was released in 2005 so they were able to get pretty much the max performance from the PS2.
Great selection of lesser known games. I remember grabbing Nightshade on a whim and not regretting it.
Such a solid game!
Love watching these lists! Always find games I've never heard of...
Delta Force, Nightshade and R Racing have all gone on my wishlist.
Glad you found something new!
I used to play Delta Force all the time with my dad as a kid! This brought back so many memories. Thank you 😊
My pleasure Austin! Glad you enjoyed the video 🙂
I really love black hawk down it was a fun and still one of my favorite fps games.
The coop was fun my lil bro was my partner when playing that game.
The Bouncer looks like "Kingdom Hearts meets Final Fight!!"
Haha the perfect mix!
The bouncer was ahead of its time!
The graphics were amazing and the move list was huge, plus you play as Sora from the dark universe.
Airblade! How did I forget that gem! Cheers dude that’s on the to get list for the collection along with Kessen 2
The Bouncer is why a got a PS2 way back when, along with Onimusha, Bloody Roar 4 and Soul Reaver 2. Kessen 2 came later but damn they were gold! Great Vid!
I cheered when you mentioned Eternal Ring. It's a unique game and I appreciate what it set out to do.
It's crazy how I have all these games and was just talking about them a few days ago with friends and played some of them, too. Then UA-cam recommended me this video today, lol. Pretty cool. Great video by the way.
You can see just how much games like Bayonetta took inspiration from Shinobi and Nightshade. Sega/Overworks should have continued developing the series.
It would have been awesome if they did!
Nightshade is great, one of my top 30 PS2 games. I have yet to beat the ship dock area, purchasing this for 2.18$ over 16 years ago is such a score. I got Shinobi a few months later from the same shop. Both games a such a great experience. Wonderful video.
Kessen 2 is such a freaking good game. I am so happy that its getting some recognition in this video.
The Bouncer wasn't too bad apart from the game breaking bugs that meant I couldn't finish it :(
Had the same thing happen to me with Call of Cthullu: Dark Corners of the Earth for the Xbox
The ai is a cheating bitch. I've beaten the game many times. It honestly wasn't that good. It has its moments
You need to add close combat first to fight.
4 player co-op through the campaign was killer at the time
You should have put Drakan: The Ancient Gates in this list. NOBODY talks about this great game and truly hidden gem for the ps2.
Such a great game! I included it in a previous episode on the channel so didn’t want to repeat 😅
I guess the sword is a great companion in the begining
The sword is a great companion in the beginning 😀
AIRBLADE!!!!! My first PS2 game in 2002. Loved it.
I’ll second that!
Spartan total warrior is one of my favorite games in ps2
Such a good game!
Grimgrimoire and Ring of Red are all I need for my fav ps2 games.
Love ring of red , amazing got me in to the genre altogether
War of the Monsters is honestly a ton of stupid fun, definitely one of my favorite PS2 games ever!
"R Racer Revolution" was my go-to PS2 racing game because of the # of unlockable content & feel of playing a racing sim but slightly less difficult than getting a license in "Gran Turismo" 😁
I love your videos, i sometimes watch them in loop!
Haha thanks Leonardo! I appreciate that 🙂
The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age was one of my absolute favorite games back in the day. I would love to see a remake!
Great list. I think another good game on PS2 that no one talks about is Atari's Transformers game that was based on Transformers Armada.
I still have that game! The battle with Tidalwave was pretty epic. I liked the toyline and Dreamwave comic too
Besides the Cybertron games on PS3 and 360, Transformers (Armada) is the best Transformer game out there.
It was made here in Aus which makes it even better to me lol
Outstandingly awesome video man! I'm a huge fan of the ps1 and ps2 and yet I've never ever heard of anyone at all talking about these games before... Thanks to you now I have a great bunch of games to try on my emulator. I'm adding this video to my favorites!
Another solid list. Nightshade looks fun. Plus Airblade, R Racing, war of the monsters the PS2 had some gems.
Thanks Des!
My list of underrated ps2 games :
shadow of rome
The darkwatch
Gun
Area 51
Rule of rose
Ghost hunter
Evil dead
Okami
Shaolin monks
The suffering
Radiata stories
omg! I forgot all about the bouncer, use to love that game. Thanks for bringing it back in my life!
when you said "the sword is a great companion in the beginning, the sword is a great companion in the beginning" ( 13:14 ) I FELT THAT
When I think of a game on PS2 nobody ever talks about, I think about call of duty big red one. You would think since it was a cod game, people would remember and talk about it but it's like it doesn't exist or something. It had an amazing story and all the characters on your squad were awesome.
The time being, you can still also play it online alongside Finest Hour and 3.
Brother in arms too
The Bouncer was my First PS 2 Game i loved it it has great graphics and High Replay ability.
"The Bouncer" definitely deserves a play at least once.
Man, I've been watching your channel for a long time now, and it desperately needs a text list or even better, chapters.
I love binging your channel to find new games I can emulate
Glad the videos are helpful man! 🙂
Love your channel man. Nightshade reminds me of Shinobi for the PS2. Just more streamlined with a female protagonist. Shinobi was a really difficult game to beat; but man was it seriously gratifying to do so.
Thanks Nick! Glad you enjoy the videos 🙂
Nightshade is actually Shinobi 2.
I have a huge library of ps2 games on my hard drive and wow most of these i didn't know about these ones. great video
not me playing kingdom hearts for the first time in 2024 i had a ps2 when i was a kid but i only got to experience a few games like sly, gta sa and a few others before the xbox 360 came out and i left behind this amazing library of games
Loved seeing the Bouncer here, one of my all time faves 🤘🏼
You should check out Summoner 2 on ps2 it's pretty underrated in my opinion its awesome RPG game I used to be addicted to it when I was kid
Oh man yeah that was a great game, I’ll have to include it for part 2!
@@thatvideogamesshow thanks for the heart like men!
@@thatvideogamesshow have you ever heard of Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam on ps2?
And if you use PCSX2 you can play them in 5K resolution.
Do you know if PCSX2 can run on a 2020 intel iMac?
Thank you a million for saying Nightshade...that game is so overlooked
Spartan Total Warrior is one of my all time favorite games. It makes you feel like a real spartan with its block mechanic. Using your shield to knock back a group of enemies surrounding you and create openings is genius. And deciding when its safe to attack and when you should defend creates a real tension to the battles.
It also sparked my interest in similar games where I found Shadow of Rome and Colosseum Road to Freedom which are absolute gems
Shadow Of Rome was decent up to the stealth part, screw. the. stealth. parts.
Nobody talks about the Forbidden Siren series of games...
I remember eternal ring was one of the first games I got when PS2 dropped in October of 2000. I was also one of the earliest to get a PS2 because my brother hid one aside during the initial craze when he worked at Target, he almost got fired for that lol.
I distinctly remember getting eternal ring and being fascinated by its graphics at the time comparing it to PlayStation 1 or late 90s PC games. It was a fun first person RPG that almost reminded me of the original shadowgate. I remember enjoying collecting the different rings and seeing what spells they brought about.
At the time I noticed it was by from software and I also rented Evergrace because it was by the same developer. To this day I love that weird and unconventional action RPG. I remember being fascinated at the time that the armor you pick up actually shows up on your character and it's interesting to see some of its DNA in the modern Dark Souls.
I picked it up cuz of its close look to the King's Field games. If you wanna see some of the early DNA of the Souls games, check the KF series out! KF IV for PS2 is prob the best place to start.
bouncer was a legit sleeper. love that one, added on the ps3 through jailbreak, and im bout to play it again, excited!
Such a great game!
I would recommend a few more, like Gungriffon Blaze that is an arcade mecha action fps with an awesome soundtrack and butter smooth framerate. Chain Dive that has laughably bad cgi, but a really unique gameplay and chill soundtrack, Skygunner with charming graphics and fun gameplay, Airforce Delta Strike which is Konami's Ace Combat that has great character art and a newgame+ with unlockable ships that are recreations of old konami shmup ships. There's also Shinobido that is a spiritual successor to Tenchu by the original creators, its controls take some getting used to, but it's an excellent ninja game with lots of replayability as the game has it's own story and different endings depending on how well you do missions and to who you do missions for, as your performance influences the forces of factions with their own goals. The game got a spinoff/sister game on the PSP that allowed you to create stages you could migrate to the PS2 and sequel on the PSVita that builds up on the features of the first game with tighter controls and just as much replayability. There's many more, but these are among my favorites.
Glad you brought back the OG classic game the bouncer!! My childhood
Haha same here man, loved playing that when i first got a PS2!
@@thatvideogamesshow I'm actually playing it on my phone
Chaos Legion was a favorite of mine I never hear anyone ever mention. God that game was fun.
Nice, you included Delta Force Black Hawk Down in this video. If you want to play a slightly improved version, get the original Xbox port. Pretty much the same as the pc original which is still available digitally on Steam.
I miss games based on and ones that actually respect historical events/battles like Delta Force did. Well, there is still Six Days In Fallujah coming hopefully this year.
If you want great M rated FPS games on PS2? Go for: Soldier of Fortune Gold Edition, Half Life, Red Faction, Black, and Cold Winter. Both Soldier of Fortune and Half Life can be played with mouse and keyboard set ups too.
I loved The Bouncer when it came out. Wish it got remastered. Same for Nightshade and Shinobi PS2, excellent games.
Tenchu Wrath of Heaven is another excellent forgotten PS2 game.
I liked Spartan Total War too. But Relic's best console game was Warhammer 40k Space Marine. We're finally getting a sequel to that 10 years later.
Thanks for the suggestion a while back, I really enjoyed my time with it!
@That Video Games Show, You're welcome. 👍
Wanna play a so bad it's good PS2 exclusive FPS? Play, Fugitive Hunter: War On Terror. It's the Rogue Warrior equivalent for PS2 lol.
@@Gruntvc , Six Days in Fallujah is horrible. You are much better off with Black.
Red Faction II can be played with a DualShock in tandem with a USB mouse and, for direct weapons select, keyboard as well. Unfortunate that the first title didn't.
I'd heard that Soldier-of-Fortune supported mouse but never explored it and since forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder.
Cold Winter can be played online without requiring any mods to make the connection and it's also cross-region compatible between ntsc-U/C and PAL.
For that matter, Delta Force Black Hawk as well as -Team Sabre also can be played online from the ntsc-u/C releases after ~mods have been made to make their connection online.
@@thatvideogamesshow , I honestly wished that Racing Lagoon got a sequel, but with a much larger vehicle list, as well as a worldwide trip, and that it also borrowed elements from more traditional racing games as well.
War of the monsters and spartan total warrior still the best for me and thanks for sharing the other gems, gotta play em :D
Dat Rogue Galaxy Battle Theme Music at the beginning of the video. Gotta love Level5 Composers.
Good ear!!
lol 1:35 that dude goes flying into the wall!! classic : O
😅
I remember as a kid always wanting to play nightshade, the cover art made her look like shinobi and I always thought that was pretty cool, never did try it tho
I loooooove Spartantotalwarrior. I talk about it from time to time. Hell yeah the medusa shield
Stuntman also nobody talks about. That game is pretty like Driv3r "tech demo" because it's more like physics test game.
I had a great time with Stuntman back in the day! I’ll have to include it for part 2 🙂
...and yet, like Driver 3, its control scheme sucks, despite it being a prettier game. Also, Stuntman: Ignition is a far better game, and, if you have a PS3, Xbox 360, or PC, please get Driver: San Francisco, as it is a much better game.
"Who is introduced to the world of racing by Heihach -- I mean .."
R-Racing Evolution's A.I. made the game really shine. When you can go into a hairpin side by side with a CPU car and both of you clear it with zero contact, that is an amazing A.I. You didn't say how terrible the controls are, though, it's like online with lag.
I still have the Kessen II box with the booklet LOL. Nice list of games.
The bouncer and Nightshade were actually quite popular back in the days
I have the war of monster, original with the case and manual, and I have a good surprise when I test the game in 2008. Then play the game, I love this game
one i recommend is road trip adventure.. was a mental game.. takes a bit to get into it like then you see the really cool stuff it does
Recently covered this game in another episode. Loved it!
Bouncers multiplayer mode is also one of the most side achingly funny things to behold.
Haha I’ll second that, it’s a right laugh to play!
Delta Force had 50v50 on xbox in 2006. it was hectic and so much fun.
As always, great list of titles that passed under the radar for me. Though, there is one that I didn't see here, maybe in a Part 2?
Chaos Reign
I remember the plasma blade trail effect from Nano Breaker gave me headaches and made me feel dizzy, I could never play that one long.
I really enjoyed picking up the bouncer from game crazy back in the day
Sky odyssey,, Wakeboarding unleashed and Rebel Raiders Operation Nighthawk this games,, very very good and underrated
2 games that I never hear anyone talking about are Everblue 2 & Everywhere Road Trip. They aren't much from a visual standpoint, but each have gigantic worlds to explore and dozens upon dozens of hours of gameplay. I lost myself in these worlds for weeks. Everblue 2 is a scuba-diving sim/rpg & Everywhere Road Trip is a racing/rpg in a world of talking cars. There's not much to compare them to on PS2. They're very unique.
Great suggestions there! Will have to include them for part 2!
Was Everywhere Road Trip released for the NTSB-U region, or was it only an NTSB-J, and/or PAL, only release?
@@paxhumana2015 Yes! It released in NA as Road Trip Adventure. It's been a while, so I referenced the wrong name 😅 It's a ton of fun!
@@thisguy4505 , thanks for the heads up and I confirmed that information as true via a Wikipedia search.
