It could be a paper towel holder! That would work I bet!
It's called a yarn dispenser. It spins as you pull the yarn. You can get large ones & smaller ones. It doens't work for skeins tho, like Red Heart Super saver as the post is too short. Annoying background music really ruins your instructions.
Unfortunately, lots of creators add music with crochet tutorials. I find it extremely distracting so I mute.
