Hi! I'm currently making my way through your entire video collection. You are such a ray of sunshine. No joke. Your vlogs really cheer me up. Love seeing all the stuff you've been up to.
I was in Noises Off! a few years ago and it was hands down the most fun and most difficult show I've ever acted in! The timing has to be just impeccable for everything. But what a blast.
I didn't expect this to make me so homesick! I guess it's been two years since I last was around London for Christmas now. I'm glad you're having a great time! Thanks for sharing!
This vlog just jolted a long lost memory of when I was a child and also went to Portobello Road and didn’t appreciate it. I bought a little velvet hat and an elephant brooch. Thank you for posting this! (Even though I’m watching a year later)
Just wanted to let you know that I did see your community post. On my homepage, it shows about 3 or 4 post from people I subscribe to and sometimes I look at them.
So many cool and familiar things! I was very pleasantly surprised at Selfridges ornament selection - Frieda! Yoga Santa, Anna Wintour, LOL. Your top hat is AMAZING and such an excellent price. The parasol is gorgeous too, such unusual and long fringe. The Dora Marr exhibit looked very cool so thanks for including it. Thank you so much for this video, really fun to be the elf on your shoulder.
I can totally understand why you quit your job. It sounds like an uncomfortable amount of uncertainty. Quitting seems like a more sane option compared to being in a strange limbo of maybe-employment! Props to your hubby working out after a long flight! I'd 100% fall asleep on the elliptical if I tried that! 😂 My roommate goes for lots of walks recently because "the watch told me to do so" lol. Modern art makes my brain go 'wat?' most of the time. There's some stuff I (maybe) get, but most of the time I wish the artist wrote an essay explaining what's going on with the piece (idk sometimes it's like I'm missing a specific life experience that would put the thing into the intended perspective?). Dora Maar's works are very pretty though 😊 Plus, Picasso! I admire how the dude managed to jumble around facial features but the result is still recognizable as a person somehow.
Liberty is Arts and Crafts in the tudor style. Gah 'i miss being in town. The lights look nice this year too! I agree on the Christian Bale thing. OMG I HOPE YOU WENT TO PANTO!!!!!
OMG Twinings of London makes a Lemon Ginger tea, that I LOVE!! I get it at Stater Bros., so you should be able to find it at a grocery store in Northern California pretty easily.
In Noises Off, the play-within-the-play is called Nothing On, so Noises Off is a riff on that AND is the universal theatrical stage direction “noises off” that indicates that sounds need to be coming from offstage at that moment.
Love vicariously traveling with you! I'm pretty new to your channel but at the time you were saying you had 7K subs, now, 2 years later you have 33.7K subs! That's crazy cool!
Ohhh, I just remembered my husbands ancestor started the Doggett pub. I think it’s by the Thames. And when you showed Pandora and her husband and yours, I waved hello! 🖐🏼
Thanks so much for taking us along! Portobello Road looks fascinating -- I could see myself spending a lot of time and money there. And twirly potatoes, too? Yes! Can't wait to see you in your top hat! Loved the Frida Kahlo and Karl Lagerfeld ornaments -- so fun. Sounds like you've got a nice golden parachute arranged for your work situation and wishing you much creativity and accomplishment in your off-time. So enjoying all this.
What gorgeous Christmas decorations and markets! Love going on these trips with you. I hope you're able to take a much needed break from work and make some pretty things!
You'll get a Sewing Stuffed Sabbatical! Let's hope they don't drag their feet about the layoffs. "I did find a parasol" Of COURSE you did. LOL! Love the lights. I live in a super rural area, so I never get to experience that kind of Christmas display, except for this one house in my village that goes WAY over the top. I dread to think of their electric bill. LOL!
I'm the same about most modern art. Kansinsky is one that, although he's not one of my favorite artists, I came to better appreciate after learning about the premise he used: he was trying to interpret music on canvas.
So loved this!!! Because you have been to all 7 continents AND you know good places to see WITH decent accommodation, I wish you'd consider organizing a tour with you as theTour Guide. I would sure go on a tour with you! Bet I'm not the only one. Hugs from Down Under 🇦🇺♥️ Love your choice of music in all your Vlogs. 🌂👒👠🎩
Yaaay! More vlogs! London seems like such a magical place during the Holidays. It's literally that picture book image come to life and that's just amazing *0* I'm so glad to see you're having a blast there! Also, the weird lighting issue you got during that lunch could be due to LEDs or lights that flicker. Usually the camera with it's frames per second can't quite capture everything at once which makes it do that thing that it did.
I'll just assume you commented about how witty and clever my comment was and leave it at that. I always comment about how much I enjoy watching your vlogs so we're evan. safe travels.
Hi Noelle, Thank you so much for taking me/us along. I am so happy that I have found you! I am enjoying catching up on all your videos. I am learning a lot from your videos. Thanks so much!
I miss London so much. I've never been there a Christmastime -- I hope to do that one day! P.S. I grew up with a British father, so I know all about Sunday Roast. We had it at least once a month when I was a kid. Now, it's about 3 or 4 times a year and it makes me sad.
Thank you for the delightful break from my cleaning because the whole family will be here tomorrow for thanksgiving. Your adventures look so fun. Whenever, in a a novel, someone produces a hamper from Fortnam & Mason, I celebrate their Britishness.
My back hurts, but this was a very beautiful distraction from the strange almost twister (the game) movements I had going on. Just 4 more pieces to go and all 3 garments have all their pattern pieces-no worries, I labeled them! Which is perhaps the kindest thing I’ve done for myself today lol
I had a great time at Tate Modern, but I really like modern art a lot. Oddly enough, getting more into the stuff indirectly led me to wanting to learn more about historical sewing and costuming, hence my new arrival to your videos and Bernadette's.
Hey there. Glad the travelling was good. Kudos to your hubby for doing the gym thing. Note to self...never watch Noelle's travel vlog whilst hungry. The paella shot had me drooling! The hat is gorgeous and what a pretty parasol. Mmmm....fudge. I adore the Kubo t-shirt! Such a good movie. Got the community tab thing. That is such a cool humidifier thing. Those darn death eaters! My hubby did graphic design/photography at the art college and I *got* that. Some of the more abstract stuff from the fine arts side of the building just didn't float my boat at all. I get what you're saying about the modern creations. Googled the musical advent calendar. How adorable is that? Glad that you two are having a good time! Take care of you.
Looking forward to your Winsor visit. I have one piece of modern art. I had to have it because when I walked past the shop window, I could hear and smell and see movement as well as see what the artist was painting, even though it's just 4 horizontal stripes of paint. To me it is waves crashing on a beach, on a sunny day. I took microseconds to make the connection in my brain.
The Christmas lights on all the streets! Love it! Glad you’re getting out of a stressful job situation and I agree, it doesn’t sound like they were going to let you go at the end of six months.
Costuming Drama I hope your time until you’re “let go” is drama free and quick. I’ve got four more weeks left at my job and then I too shall be a free elf!
I love modern art, but it took me a moment. I just love art in general. I think if I went to London, I would make myself totally sick on Willy Wonka Turkish Delight. I love that stuff.
Really enjoyed being along for the trip. The hat and parasol are things of beauty. Thanks for the Dakota update sorry to hear that you still have no answer. The job thing makes sense you know you best if the uncertainty would drive you spare then it’s for the best. The perfect time to take some time for yourself and maybe do some stash busting. Much happier with prototype 2 of the socks. I have made her enough to get through a week plus the first version. Doctor wants to see her again to check healing he doesn’t like the weird space between bones said he might X-ray her other ankle to see if it was normal for her. Oh well the cast is off. The air cast on and the socks worked so we will count our blessings instead of worrying. Have to make a few more socks with a lighter material for nighttime
Yay for Yorkshire puddings! I’m from Yorkshire. The idea was that you filled up on cheap to make, Yorkshire pudding so you didn’t eat as much meat, which was much, much, more expensive!
I have the exact same thoughts on Christian Bale and modern art! People look at me like I’m crazy when I mention stuff like that. It sounds like your cold got better! Thanks for sharing your fun!
This looks like so much fun. I'm hoping to make it to a European Christmas market some day. Need more vacation time and a passport first though. I'm glad your trip is going well. I did mishear the name of one of the shops as "port nom" which amused me. (I already found the correct name in the description.)
I was thinking about you before I checked YT. So delighted to see your travel vlog! I'm cleaning the the kitchen of the old rental we're moving out of, and wishing I was somewhere else. Lol. I've been wanting to visit Edinburgh's Christmas market, but it looks like London is magical at this time of year too!
@@Costuming_Drama Yes, it is free and cold winter nights, lots of costumes, very crowded but fun. I think there are photos on different computer sites of Nevada City Victorian Christmas.
@@Costuming_Drama Trader Joe's used to have mulled wine (the German kind) or the spices so you can make your own. At least back in Cali you can buy alcohol at TJ's. I have to drive to VA to do that here.
York Shire Puddings are so much fun to make and absolutely delicious. Beef roasts are not done enough here and for some reason people don't realize how easy it really is to do. Also your making this Anti Flyer want to go to England. Sigh. Also with us being 34.1K strong now... your 5 year 70K prediction might be a thing.
the pastel crackers at 16:16 though. I feel like it's the curse of people who are into the dark and mysterious(i.e. me) to also be inexplicably drawn to the cute and fluffy. also, modern art is my jam and I just can't resist, so: Also one of the things with modern art is that not all of it means something. Sometimes when you're looking at something and are like "This is cool, but I don't get what it means" it might just be a composition. One of my faithful examples is Jackson Pollock, I've heard so many people who think it's random, or is supposed to mean something. It's neither. Pollock paintings are just visual balance. And of course modern art is super wide and varied, so there are also things with heavy symbolism and layers upon layers of meaning, but sometimes it's just "these shapes look right"
Costuming Drama although if you ever see Kandinsky paintings, he had synesthesia in a way that shapes and colors created sounds for him, so his paintings are songs, part of why they’re called “compositions” because why not make puns when you can?
OMGOSH can only imagine what Frida Kahlo would have thought of the commercialization of her image. LOL! Hello to Chris from a fellow Mainer. Hope Dakota feels better.
So this is going to be an insanely long comment as I’m literally doing this while the video is playing lol! Hugs! Mulled wine!!!! Oh so yummy! Also good luck finding a new job and hopefully less stress and I’m also really hoping that your kitty feels better soon! This is putting going to England way up there on my bucket list! Ooooh! Top hat and parasol envy here! I wants all the nummies!!! Sherlock House!!!!!!!!!!! Holiday lights are so beautiful to see and he’s a good singer! Now THATS a tree! Oh lord, gotta love fluorescent lighting lol! Love the Happy husband comment! I reiterate, definitely visiting there is on my bucket list! And you have some of my favorite music from the Nutcracker there! So much beautiful architecture! Sorry, I have a thing for beautiful buildings! Squeeeee! Double decker bus!!! Really am loving the different street musicians you keep finding! Oooh! Sherlock restaurant! I’d laugh as according to the latest iteration, it’s incredibly difficult to get him to eat lol! And I did get the announcement, and thank you for worrying about us not seeing your comments! Oooh! I like the mini humidifier! Your husband is such a goof! Love the video bombing he did! So I’m guessing she also modeled for pictures? Some of the pictures look like they were made with photoshop. Those window displays! Lol “Quality content” Have fun and I’m loving the trip vlogs so far! Thank you for being so willing to share your experience with those of us who haven’t quite managed to head over!
ah i went to see noises off for a birthday once! it is truly hilarious, glad you enjoyed it :D also i agree with you about the tate modern, I used to spend quite a lot of time there as a teenager and some of the art is ...more interesting than others lol, there was quite a period where representional art was not the in thing, and if you are someone who likes looking at pictures of things this is not ideal... Maybe if that exhibition is still on i'll check it out though :o
18:50 is it just me or those Christmas lights look like a peacock tail? thoroughly enjoyed this vid... all the funny little moments "free elf" "Hemsworth action" *the hand reaching for the mini pancakes*. That top hat was a great find! Mmmmm that roast looked delicious too. And all those Christmas decorations, so gorgeous!!! I can understand buying at least some of them (so much peacock stuff)! I hadn't seen your Community Post about your comments being deleted, I don't see those very often because I guess I often look at YT on PC and either have the page already on a video or someone's channel but I think I did see it once recently on PC when I had it on the YT homepage maybe can't remember for sure!
The west got a snow bomb of weather. Good luck with your return to the USA. UGG I would be spending a fortune at Liberty Of London for my fabric stash.
Always glad to see you have a good time, even with the kitty situation. This one made me both a bit nostalgic for Christmas London, but at the same time glad not to have to endure the shopping craze… Although, those peacocks ornaments could do very well on an 1880 hat, don't you think? And that top hat screams for a riding habit! There's good stuff in modern art, but it's a bit hit and miss for me… Probably because it relies more on emotions. Only point of friction would be the Bale/Damon thing. Bale is pretty intense and sure not anyone's cuppa, but Damon is getting douchier every year. I hope you have fun at Windsor, it's a beautiful place.
Loved this video. I've been to London twice and it was not at Christmas time...Will need to go back at that time of year as it didn't look nearly this pretty. Piccadilly was completely empty when I was there...Did go to the Crown Pub though...really liked it there. Thank you so much for taking us on your trip and showing us the beauty of London! Concerning community tabs, I have no idea what that is. Enchanted Rose said at the top of your channel page we could find a 'community tab'. Isn't this your channel page? I am confused, as usual! LOL..Hope you continue to have a wonderful trip!
It totally depends on where you are when you say "this". You could be on mobile. You could be on an individual video page, you could be anywhere really and see this video, so there's no way to tell. If you didn't look up my channel name and then click on it, probably not. You would see tabs at the top and one of them would say "community", but you could also be getting community updates in your email, on your mobile or in the main feed if you are on desktop. This is why I am asking if anyone sees them (the answer is probably no if you are asking this). Anyway, here's a link to the community tab if you are curious: ua-cam.com/channels/GfIQhkqB_CMTW7wVGYSz_A.htmlcommunity
@@Costuming_Drama Thank you for this explanation. I only use a laptop and found your channel by accident a long time ago. I had never actually looked up your channel page before. Now I know what to do to see community posts. I have been subscribed for quite a while, but never rec'd any community messages in my email. I will just check the page, now that I know how to find it!! Thank you again.
Oh, those feels about moving a UA-cam channel from a personal to a brand account. I've done it for so many clients and it STILL freaks me out Each And Every Time. Alls well that ends well though, and you're absolutely right - much better to do it at 7,000 than 70,000. Also, giving the amazing Ms Banner access it a Good Thing(TM).
How about the cafe next to Sherlocks flat in the BBC series? I thought it was fun there, lots of Chinese tourists and tumblr girls. Also, Francoise Gilot is another ex from Picasso that has kind of made it as a painter herself. She is famous for being the only woman that ever left Picasso.
Community posts seem to come up on my recommended page when I open UA-cam up on my computer. I hope you find out what's wrong with your kitty, it is so stressful when furbabies are sick
I would like to use a parasol to make a shade for a floor standing lamp. I love Liberty. I could spend the day there. Their afternoon tea is scrummy. Did you go to the Sherlock Holmes Museum?
Have you ever thought about sending your things by FedEx or the like ..just the things that you can't fit in your luggage, or maybe buy a new suitcase just for the extra things that you can't fit in with your existing luggage? Whichever one is cheaper and will get them home intact....just an idea
Oh yes, we have extra bags with us, but they are soft sided and no manner of luggage is good for glass baubles. They obviously need to be hand carried. As does the parasol and the top hat. Both luggage handlers and fed ex are BRUTAL on your possessions... seems foolish to trust either of them with nice things.
"it's better now at 7k versus 70k and ten years from now." I'm watching this in October 2020, and you're at 23.5k subscribers...I feel like 70k is going to come much sooner than you think it will.
Alrighty so far I am jealous of your tophat find. I would make mulled wine but nobody would drink it. Your trip looks fun so far. We don't decorate for Christmas until December. Are peacocks just a british christmas thing? Scarf update: 20 inches last measured.
If you ever have that weird flashy/stroby lighting issue again, try slowing your shutter speed if you can. I don't know sludge about video, but I've seen someone else have that problem, and that was their solution.
Is there anything as good as hot chocolate from London or Paris? I don’t think so. At home I never have hot chocolate but everytime I go to London or Paris, that’s my drink of choice....of course I am always going around Xmas time when its cold there and stinking hot at home, that’s prob why I enjoy it so much.
I am having SO MUCH NOSTALGIA 😭
Bernadette Banner I thought you were going for 2 weeks?
@@TheresaHanssen Miss B is going in 2 weeks for a couple of months. Patterns of Fashion 6, anon.
SO EXCITED FOR ALL THE MORE SEWING VIDS!! I hope your work break is fabulous and healing :D

London looks so magical at Christmas time 😍😍😍 The street decorations are stunning!
It's so nice to have these videos during this plague. Makes me feel like I am visiting the world from my home.
Noises Off takes its title from the theatrical stage direction indicating sounds coming from offstage.
Aww...sending kitty prayers. Mm...mulled wine. Yay on the hat and the parasol. Nice to get to see Hubby. So many pretties and yummies! Gloria🐂
I agree with you about most modern art. Now those Christmas window displays were art to me.

You can buy some really yummy mulled wine at Lidl. It should say Glühwein on the bottle!
So many pretty lights and trinkets!
so much fun...loving seeing London through your viewfinder :-) take care guys!

Ah! Thank you!
And so much feasting! I want some mulled cider with fresh fruit and spices cooked in it.
It was a joy to see London, the shoppes and markets, through your eyes...especially at Christmas time. Wonderful video.
We have Gluhwein in Texas. You and your husband are so cute together! He has a great smile! I absolutely love Christmas decorations!!!
I’ve been binge watching all of your vlogs from the “Before Times™️”...

I did mishear the name of one of the shops as "port nom" which amused me. (I already found the correct name in the description.)
hahahahaha!
Keep up the great work!
The Christmas market looks amazing.. I need to have mulled wine :)
Yes, you do!
It certainly is!
I do get the community updates but I use a mobile device. Beautiful sights. Felt like I was there. Thanks for the vicarious experience.
Thanks for letting me know!!
very fun to watch, thanks for sharing. Great Christmas market event every Wednesday night in December in Nevada City, they have mulled wine there.
Oh that's awesome! It's all but impossible to find in California... especially outside of some "you have to pay to get in" event like Dickens Faire.
I made the mistake of not watching this until January and I miss Christmas so much. 😢
That was so cute!! I’d love to visit London some time :)
Every time you mention Portobello Road in a vlog, I start singing the song from Bedknobs & Broomsticks.
Hahahahaha I’ve never see that but I do know the song!
Here's hoping your break is restorative!
Thank you!
Omg I looove Dishoom 😍😍😍 an absolute must-eat when one's in London 😊
Agree!!
I need to hit that place up next time, it's news to me.
the pastel crackers at 16:16 though. I feel like it's the curse of people who are into the dark and mysterious(i.e. me) to also be inexplicably drawn to the cute and fluffy.
also, modern art is my jam and I just can't resist, so:
Also one of the things with modern art is that not all of it means something. Sometimes when you're looking at something and are like "This is cool, but I don't get what it means" it might just be a composition. One of my faithful examples is Jackson Pollock, I've heard so many people who think it's random, or is supposed to mean something. It's neither. Pollock paintings are just visual balance.
And of course modern art is super wide and varied, so there are also things with heavy symbolism and layers upon layers of meaning, but sometimes it's just "these shapes look right"
Well that is the most sensible description i have heard so far!
Costuming Drama although if you ever see Kandinsky paintings, he had synesthesia in a way that shapes and colors created sounds for him, so his paintings are songs, part of why they’re called “compositions” because why not make puns when you can?
Yay! Suddenly glad I'm home today! (lost my job yesterday)
Oh no! Big hugs to you!!
@@Costuming_Drama Thanks.
So sorry to hear that. Sending you best wishes all day!
@@julied.8277 Thank you.
So sorry to hear that and at this time of year seems cruel..Hugs!
OMGOSH can only imagine what Frida Kahlo would have thought of the commercialization of her image. LOL!
Hello to Chris from a fellow Mainer.
Hope Dakota feels better.
Chris says hi back!!
I am on a MacBook Air. I saw your community post. Happy Thanksgiving Noelle!!
Thanks for letting me know and Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Lol “Quality content”
Have fun and I’m loving the trip vlogs so far! Thank you for being so willing to share your experience with those of us who haven’t quite managed to head over!
I'm so glad that you are enjoying the vlogs!!
ah i went to see noises off for a birthday once! it is truly hilarious, glad you enjoyed it :D also i agree with you about the tate modern, I used to spend quite a lot of time there as a teenager and some of the art is ...more interesting than others lol, there was quite a period where representional art was not the in thing, and if you are someone who likes looking at pictures of things this is not ideal...
I hadn't seen your Community Post about your comments being deleted, I don't see those very often because I guess I often look at YT on PC and either have the page already on a video or someone's channel but I think I did see it once recently on PC when I had it on the YT homepage maybe can't remember for sure!
yep - i believe that they are supposed to look like a peacock tail!
The west got a snow bomb of weather. Good luck with your return to the USA. UGG I would be spending a fortune at Liberty Of London for my fabric stash.
I am SUPER fortunate in that i kind of hate their prints, so I never want to spend money on them! :-D
It was fun!!
my morkie is named karl doggerfeld! the other is tom furd.
Anyway, here's a link to the community tab if you are curious:

@@Costuming_Drama Thank you for this explanation. I only use a laptop and found your channel by accident a long time ago. I had never actually looked up your channel page before. Now I know what to do to see community posts. I have been subscribed for quite a while, but never rec'd any community messages in my email. I will just check the page, now that I know how to find it!! Thank you again.
I love you travel videos. I love the Costuming, but depending on what you’re sewing I may or may not make it thru the whole thing. Say hi to Chris!
Thank you for the moral support!
I agree with you about Christian Bale...he definitely has been portrayed as a jackass but he is a good actor....sigh love/hate situation
Thank you! and thanks for letting me know that they come up!
Lovely Christmas at Selfridge’s. Loved the yoga Santa. Is everything imported from China there also?
Mostly no!
Yes, Yoga Santa was adorable, I totally would have bought that.
I would like to use a parasol to make a shade for a floor standing lamp. I love Liberty. I could spend the day there. Their afternoon tea is scrummy. Did you go to the Sherlock Holmes Museum?
Nope, the line was too long to be worth it...
Perhaps!!
Btw, my husband just said we are going to see Frozen 2!!! Woo Hoo!! And more London too. Great Thanksgiving 🙏🏼
YAY! That should be awesome!
LOVE YOUR VLOGS!!! Just sayin'...
Alrighty so far I am jealous of your tophat find. I would make mulled wine but nobody would drink it. Your trip looks fun so far. We don't decorate for Christmas until December. Are peacocks just a british christmas thing? Scarf update: 20 inches last measured.
I sometimes see peacocks on things in America too... And YAY Scarf!
If you ever have that weird flashy/stroby lighting issue again, try slowing your shutter speed if you can. I don't know sludge about video, but I've seen someone else have that problem, and that was their solution.
Oooohh good tip! Thank you!
@@Costuming_Drama no problem, I hope it helps if needed
I’m sending positive healing thoughts to Dakota. I hope her liver values return to normal.
Thank you so much!
You should have worn Dr Watson.
Oh hell no. :-) That outfit is not fit for anything but standing gently in. Certainly not tooling around London!
I love it!!
I did have a hot chocolate in Austria that was the single best one I’ve ever had!
Costuming Drama You don’t get that silky thickness at home like you do in London or Paris or it seems Austria~
