One year for the 100 days challenge (which starts Feb 18th this year - I think) I challenged myself to spend time in my sewing studio. Some days all I could manage was to walk in, turn the lights on, turn the lights off, and leave again. But it re-built the habit I'd lost during a challenging time. It worked - my sewing studio is back to my happy place and has been for the several years since. I hope you continue to get better!
As someone who had dealt with chronic fatigue for 25 years now, it is heartbreaking to see so many have to deal with long COVID. I hope you are getting informed care and are patient with yourself. Just having health insurance is a good thing. Will be happy to see you here when you can! P.S. "Take all the classes I've already paid for." That sounds sooo familiar! 😄
OH! There is this building in Kyoto that does all of the costuming for period dramas. They have this showroom, called the Costume Museum, with a very intricate display on scenes from the Tale of Genji. It takes them MONTHS to get the display set up, so you have to plan around their exhibition schedule. I went one time last year, and then again this week when the showroom opened up again with a Springtime display. There are dolls accurately dressed for the period, and furniture, and hangings, all these things to tell you about aristocratic life in the Heian Period. They tell you about the fabrics used, how the fabrics were made and dyed, and a few life-sized examples. There was a display this time about the different colors men wore to display their rank at court. It was my first time to see all the ranks and fabric.
Hey I'm planning on going to Japan in 2025 (fingers crossed), and I very much want to go to the Kyoto Costume Institute, how do I keep up to date with their exhibition schedule? Is it just a matter of keeping an eye on their website, or do they have a newsletter or something? (I also follow them on Instagram)
As someone who has a chronic illness, I can understand giving yourself the leeway for the days you feel good enough to work on a project and know when you just don't have the energy to do anything but take care of yourself. I'm glad you will not get rid of the channel, but also that you are learning your limitations right now. Best wishes on getting better. 😊
I have long Covid, too. I've found that the first couple of weeks of the semester are rough, and then it evens out. I spend a lot of time sitting while lecturing which helps. Listen to your body. Generally, I spend from 8 pm on just sitting in my comfy chair, resting. Sometimes it's more of a nap. Eventually you'll find a system that works for you. And don't worry about how often you post. You put out content, we'll watch it! Hugs!
@@Costuming_Drama@Costuming_Drama I'm lucky that it's not too bad. I have a friend who can barely walk for more than a few minutes before he has to sit and rest for half an hour or more. I'm counting my blessings that I'm lucky enough to have a very mild case. It's still annoying, though! We can do this!
Glad to see you are getting better. Good luck with the new job! It literally took me 10 months to get over the side issues of Covid for the most part. The fatigue just added to what I already had so that and the throat/lung damage got to a standing point, meaning no worse or better well after a year. My voice never recovered. Whatever you decide to do is up to you & the rest of us will be here to see what you're up too.
Take your time I’ll be here when you are ready. As a chemical sensitivity and CF sufferer I understand the not knowing what you’ll be able to do but that’s okay, you do you. Hope things go well!!
I would love to watch knitting! Knitting is not for me, but I find the IDEA of knitting soothing. Being fatigued makes doing anything, even things you love, so hard. I really enjoy your channel and appreciate that you’re willing to share your struggles with long Covid. I hope you and all your kitties are doing okay.
I liked Fool Me Once on Netflix. I started a 2024 temperature quilt, spending all of December gathering a rainbow of 24 fabrics, and I hand stitch them in English paper piecing hexagons. Minnesota has been so warm that I have very few cobalts and periwinkles and way too many mustards and chartreuse - - my 2 most detested colors. I hope the oranges and peaches of spring will make me like it more. Sending you loads of healing wishes… 🤗❤️🩹
Having made 4 pairs of pants for myself - non stretch, elastic & lycra free, they are SO comfy and freeing to have. I look forward to seeing how yours turn out!
Congratulations on your job! Please take care of yourself and don't push too hard. I love your chatty style of presentation so would be happy to watch you, sewing or knit or even just vlog. I'm reading The Serpent's Shadow by Mercedes Lackey.
Very lovely to see you back, but equally happy to see your content as and when works for you. Especially if that means you can prioritise your health, which is always the correct decision.
One of the most helpful "hints" I have ever received is the use of a timer. I have one that is preset, so I just choose 5, 15, 30 {etc) minutes in a single step. I use this for decluttering (especially my sewing room) and , because of it, I make a lot of progress. Like you, I have the option to do more if I feel like it. Specifically knitting. I can lose hours sitting and knitting and, while I accomplish a lot, I don't do my back or knees any favors. Again, the timer is my friend! I hope it is for you also. SELF CARE!
i use the timer on my phone all the time for this same reason! I call them "sprints" and try and not do anything but that thing for however long, but then when it is over, it's time to get up and move around.
Glad to see you feeling fit enough to get back in front of the camera!! No matter what your health is more important. Enjoy your new job and looking forward to whatever projects you bring us 🤗🤗🤗🤗
I really, REALLY feel for you. Despite my P-100 filter mask, my gloves, the constant hand-washing, and back in 2020 the damn Tyvex suits...😩😩😩... I got Covid 3 times. And I'm asthmatic. Let me just say it is sometimes all I can do not to want to travel to China, (and EVERY country that is testing germ warfare-looking at YOU U.S.A.), and systematically do something I can't say here on UA-cam. I mean I'm THAT angry, and it takes effort to push past that sometimes. Now, when I get sick, which is every 5th week, my lungs IMMEDIATELY become inflamed and for the first time in my life, I get serious, (nearly hospital worthy), bronchitis. I have lost so much work the only reason I haven't been fired is because I'm only a part-timer, (who does 48 hours a week, lol). I am getting NOTHING done, the house is a disaster, so much for my raised garden beds, my hobbies...grocery shopping. I'm just sick and exhausted. I have ONE week in between illnesses where I feel good. So, I COMPLETELY understand!! And, again, I really, REALLY feel for you. Nicole, you do whatever you can to keep happiness and a sense of accomplishment in your life and DO NOT WORRY.... PLEASE.... about our take on it. Covid is life-changing for so many people, and yet I'm willing to be every single one of those people DOESN'T want their life to change. Resentment can build, and a sense of disappointment in oneself. As pat as it sounds, accept the new normal, hope it doesn't last, but rearrange you life so that you don't see all the things you aren't getting done and only see the things you are. Otherwise, you might wind up like me, using precious mental and emotional energy NOT getting angry with your life. You are too happy and outgoing a person for that! Love ya, woman!!
Noeeeeeeeeeeeeelle, It is so good to see you; congratulations on your new job! Take it easy on yourself, sew when you want, film when you want, and we will be here when you're ready. Right now, I am knitting a sweater for myself and a shawl for my niece.
Definitely good to see you and congrats on the job! Goals give direction, they're not proof of worth. I'm looking forward to the jacket and pants projects very much. The tailored pants conundrum is terrifying to me but I want to learn to make pants that actually fit me! Maybe you could do a chat or update video while you knit? I had covid in early January and it seems to have aggravated my Fibromyalgia; right when I was starting to experience some improvement. Not happy. So I'm crocheting lots, watching Time Team and UK Antiques Road Show.
Thank you for posting an update! I was cleaning out my subscriptions yesterday and realized I hadn't seen anything from you in a while. I'm glad you're improving, and congratulations on the job! I hope that you continue to have good days :) Edit: I would love to see random short videos about whatever you've been up to. No pressure to post if you don't have the energy for it, but I would totally watch a 10 minute video where you talk about what class you've taking, what you think of it, what you want to do with it, etc.
I also make costumes but have been not in a costumy space lately...I am currently crocheting a temperature blanket and doing all the interior finishing on all of last years projects. Creativity is what it is....do what you can, share what works for you and enjoy yourself! Always enjoy your videos 😊
As you've talked about before, you're our sewing buddy. I think many of us are just happy to listen/watch while you talk to us, we'd be happy to watch you make the blanket. Best wishes for your new job and your continued healing.❤
Sorry for the weird one word text! My keyboard is being awful. I am so happy to see you and hear how you are doing. I have so much empathy for you ❤ I have had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, diagnosed by 4 doctor's and a psychiatrist, because I was in serious denial! As a Psychologist you would think I would have been better equipped to handle it. Nope, its an awful disease to deal with. The depression that can come to join the party, along with exhaustion, pain, brain fog... Plus, the content voices from well meaning or ignorant people is hard, and the ones who say to just get over it, it's in your head... Ugh I am very hopeful that because of "long covid" more advancement in treatment will be coming. Prior to long covid, CFS was ( fir the most part) a woman's disease, and often ignored, or mis diagnosed. Okay, this is starting to sound like a rant. Really I just wish you well, and I truly do understand. I am grateful you talk about it. I would watch any of the crafty thing's you make! Embroidery, knitting, box making ( that was fun😊) and sew on. It's your personality and intelligence and talents that have me constantly tuning in. Congratulations 🎉 I am happy you have a job you like and health insurance! I am going to read the comments to see if someone has a good movie or TV series recommendation. I can't find anything worth watching lately. I am reading a great book ( so far) It is called Noon at Tiffany's. It is based on real life. It highlights the woman who actually created Tiffany Lamps. Based on her letter's that were found. The letters were written between herself, sister's and mother. Wishing you happiness and improvement in your health. With hope, Audri
Congrats on the new job! It was lovely to see you again, I'm always happy to watch your channel even without regular uploads. Thank you for the update.💜
Just happy to know you are ok. Whatever you want to share is great. You inspired me to ask for a white board for Christmas. I LOVE it. Been so motivated to try stuff.
Goal #1 be kind to yourself. 2023 was a difficult health year for me, I'm learning to live with and adjust to a new job and health issues/fatigue. So I feel for you and I'm sending positive vibes your way.
Happy to see you. Please take care of you. As for working on things I am currently working on a crochet blanket. It’s only 140+ rounds. So I work on it take a break then work on it again and repeat. So just do what you feel like doing when you feel like doing it. No guilt.
I have chronic fatigue from a serious illness i suffered nearly ten yrs ago so i know how awful and frustrating it is! I think you've been doing amazingly well considering your health. Ive got my fingers crossed that your symptoms ease - or go away completely! And i would love to see knitting/embroidery or any other project it pleases you to share 😊 wishing you a healthy and happy year Noelle!
i am so sorry to hear that you are also suffering from this. It's rough. Thank you for the lovely comments and i am totally wishing you a healthy and happy new year.
Regarding pants,Tricia from Tricia's Creative Costume Academy had a "how to fit pants" thing that I'm hoping to be able to use this year, I too have no hips and my pants fall down. I discovered that waistline for pants or skirts =/= waistline for dresses for me and my measurements, my "natural" waistline is 2" higher and needs an inch or two of ease, and my waist where pants actually go needs -2" ease or they fall off my hips. ...which turns out to be the same measrement, but with 2" shorter rise. That said, this year I'm doing my version of Secret Pants but mine are based on a hakama pattern I've made several times for martial arts, for the prototype/wearable mockup I'm taking the bulk of one hakama that got a bit trashed with use, shortening it to remove the damaged bit at the top and then making pockets in the side vents. I escape the whole "what size is your waist, anyway" because these tie on.... am considering the next version I make being similar to the coquelicot skirt but the front fastens first so I can drop a bum flap to use a toilet instead of having to completely undress like I do with a regular hakama over gi pants. Glad things seem to be improving for you, congrats on the job (and insurance).
Netflix series Glamorous, my acquaintance plays the role of Parker. I went to elementary/high school with him and 2 of his siblings, had the same singing teacher, came to my wedding. He's pretty nice, good sense of humor and actually pretty humble.
As a person who experiences chronic fatigue (not long covid related)--I get it. It's all you can do to get out of bed some days. Sending you all the good vibes for continued recovery. Also sending you lots of permission to just sit up in bed and watch sewing videos like I do on many occasions. And also I found myself not going in my sewing room at all, so I moved all my sewing essentials to my bedroom. It's right there now...as is my bed. If I need to lie down, I do. I'm sewing much more.
I’d love to see a video of you learning how to take photos of yourself. I personally want to start UA-cam channel. But, I’m intimidated by the self- photography aspect, so, I would love to see what you’ve learned
Good to hear from you. Long Covid sucks! Hope your body adjusts and heals it's self soon! Look forward to what ever, whenever you post anything! My husband has finally admitted he 'might have it', , we are lucky we live in Europe, where workers health is important, he has brain-fog and forgets things, he is always tired, needs to nap several times in the day, it is so sad to watch someone you love go through this!
Hi Nicole! 🙋🏻♀️❤️🫂✨ Knitting content 👍🏻 It's sewing adjacent. 😄 Congratulations on the new job!!! And health insurance!!! Hope your health continues to improve!!! 🫂🫂🫂 (My husband has chronic fatigue with his COPD. It sucks! 😟) Nice to see you and hear how you're doing! I'm don't sew much. (My Grandma did 😍). I like fashion and all things pretty. 💖 I'm beginning to blossom again after years of depression. Life continues to be interesting and challenging. We've been waging war with cockroaches, and we are winning! 🎆🎇✨. I'm starting to do self care and housework again. Not much stamina yet. Progress not perfection. Best wishes with embroidery! I too want to learn to do it better. I want to make some felt Christmas ornaments and stockings with embroidery on them. Love, Hugs & Sparkles! ❤️🫂✨
So good to hear from you. I was wondering where you've been! I hope you feel better soon. I wish Angela Clayton would do something like this. We haven't seen her in over a year.
Just wanted to say hi and ask how you were. Especially now that the Bay Area is finally getting some nicer weather. I'm also chronically ill. This year, I've taken up slow stitching to use up all my scrap fabrics. It's great to do while watching a movie or one of the classes. Hope you are feeling better ❤❤❤❤.
Thank you for checking on me! I’m doing as well as can be expected! I’m so sorry to hear that you are also sick! 💖 I’m also working on finding small things to do when I’m resting to be at least a little productive!
Glad to see you back, even briefly. I'm going through your back catalogue-again- so that's been fun. Sorry to hear that you still ha e long-covid. Some of the symptoms of it (extreme fatigue, brain fog, etc) are symptoms of an illness I've had for 20 years. So I totally understand the impatience of wanting to do something, but just not having the energy. So I really do hope you recover soon. Can't wait for more videos, but take your time and don't push yourself too hard. The consequences can be really unpleasant.
Yay job! Yay health insurance! I have ME/CFS a bit stronger than you and so I'm look forward to living vicariously. I'm a huge knitter so bring that on. I want to see anything you want to do.
I'm an avid knitter, and have finished 3 blankets, the trick is thick yarn on thick needles or it gets boring for me. Unfortunately al of the blankets I've made have been presents, so I don't reap the benefits, lol. I'm a wrestling fan, so I'm very much looking forward to Iron Claw being released over here so I can finally see it! Good luck in your new job xx
Good to see you back. I remembered that you had had Covid, but I didn't realize that it had become Long Covid. I'm sorry you did, and I'm glad to hear that you've been slowly getting better. I am very slowly getting my sewing area cleaned up and more organize. It didn't help that I acquired a whole bunch of beads and beading supplies from a friend. Her older sister loved to make beaded jewelry. Unfortunately, she was also a hoarder. At the end of August she fell and couldn't get back up. She ended up in the hospital where she died on Sep 1st. So my friend, along with around a dozen friends and family members when to her apartment to clean it out. As a result I inherited about a quarter of the bead hoard. So it has taken over my sewing area. I tried cataloging it, but there is just so much. But it has to be done or I'm gonna go nuts. Oh, and it doesn't help that my sewing area is our living room. We have a 4 bedroom apartment and I couldn't use one of the other rooms because they're all being used as bedrooms or my best friend's workroom or a TV room. My best friend's husband is a couch potato who is gradually going deaf. So the TV is always on and at full volume. The TV room is now on the other side of the house where the rest of us can't hear it. Ya know, I am always a tiny bit envious of folks who have an actual room for sewing... with a door... that they can close. I had one once. ( le sigh) It was wonderful.
We are all happy to watch whatever videos you post when you can. Your health is the most important, you do you and we will be here. Glad things seem to be getting a little better for you!
Congratulations on the new job. Take your time and from a fellow chronically ill person you have all my sympathy. I'm also working on improving my embroidery.
Hiya. I have long covid. It's been 14 months. By the 8th and 9th months, I was a lot better. I got covid again in month 10 and it got worse, but it's getting better again. It's definitely possible to get better. I've spoken to a lot of people with long covid, and loads say they improve or get entirely better. The consultant think I have an autonomic issue, POTS, specifically. My heartrate spikes when I stand up and is generally running fast. I get dizzy when I stand up, get out of breathe easily, I'm fatigued, have poorer coordination, migranes, brainfog and memory problems. The consultant said not pushing it and having a relaxed body and mind is what will get me better. Ie training my body to not overreact to everything. So trying to take it gently enough that I don't get out of breath, or push up my heartrate unnecessarily. Which is helped by not standing still, not keeping your arms above your head, avoiding stress, doing things that make me happy. And I should try to avoid catching viruses. Not everyone has this disautonomia, it is one of the things long covid can be. It's all quite new to doctors. I'm saying this because I wish I could hear more of different people's long covid experiences to feel less alone, hence sharing my experience so others can read mine. I'm happy to watch any content you post, sewing, organiaing books, knitting chatting whenever ad hoc videos might come out. Sending lots of love Noelle 💚 congrats on your job! It's great that you like it! And are sort of managing with it. Go you!
Sorry to hear that COVID is still kicking your butt. Uncertain as to how much natural light you are exposed to. Living up North, full spectrum sun lights are crucial for survival in the winter. I wish you all the best in your job and sewing. I finally cut the fabric for the gauchos! Now working on making all the marks and the prep stuff before sewing. I'm not too happy with the front pockets, so I considering making welt pockets rather the scoop patch pockets. I also been thinking to add welt pockets to the back. My feline boss lady Sabrina is impatient for me to get to working on my sewing. When I'm pinning the patterns she uses her paw to point out where to pin next. She sits perched on top of the serger as I sew on the conventional machine and then hops onto the conventional as I sew on the serger. It only took forever to finish the black jeans made from the Coe trouser patterns. I'm glad that I cut it the way that I did because the wearing ease in the seat was non-existent. Odd because I have a rectangular figure and my non-existent butt is the hardest to fit. I deviated from a fly front and made it button fly instead.
Congratulations on your new job! I'm glad you are enjoying the work and getting along well with your coworkers. I also started a new job this year. I am teaching a new subject for the first time which is a challenge but has its benefits - including potentially being able to include some sewing or sewing-adjacent skills. PS - the first thing that caught my eye was the hair tinsel! very cool!
Thanks for the reminder - I also wish to make pants this year! I have a pair I really love, I have some lovely light linen, now to take a pattern and hopefully have a never-ending supply of trousers that actually fit 😀
enjoy your new job,I watched one you tuber who caught long covid quite painful to watch loosing her vitality it too her the best part of 18months to get back to "normal" so take it easy
Congrats on the new job! I hope your health improves! I am going to make a vest/waistcoat that Elizabeth Swann wears at the very end of Pirates of the Caribbean 3. There is not a lot of footage of this outfit and it's shot at sunset or sunrise so the lighting is not all encompassing. I'm really hoping it turns out well and I am happy with the end result.
Congratulations on the job and health insurance! I have also been leaning into the taking care of myself vibe and doing more relaxing. I have been crocheting a blanket, which seems to give my brain the i did something productive feeling even when I am relaxing watching movies, just trying to take care of myself. I am in the opposite as you are with balancing job life stuff where I was recently laid off and now trying to figure out what my days and time look like for now while I am in this stage of things. I have also been working on learning pattern drafting, and my big sewing goal for the year is making tops that fit well, are flattering, and I enjoy wearing.
Sorry to hear long covid still has you in its grip. That sucks. There is only so much you can do to recover except rest. I am knitting as I listen to you - found some silk linen blended yarn at a fibre show and had to try it out so making up a sweater as I go along.
There you are, you have been missed. I am glad you are feeling better and I hope you continue to recover. Congratulations to the new job. Take care of your self.
I do understand the paying for classes but not taking the time to watch them. I've been paying for Skillshare for years and have yet to take one class! I remember I have it every month when I get the renewal notice. For sewing, SewSewLive has real time sewing videos with lots of fitting suggestions and help. She's chatty and interacts with the comments while she's cutting and sewing. I don't envy you the commute, but am happy you have found a job in which you can thrive and where you can meet new and interesting co-workers.
Take care of yourself. We can all wait, we're happy whenever you can show us a new project of yours. I'm mostly resting myself because of a torn ligament in my foot. So watching the new All Creatures Great and Small series and knitting a fair isle sweater vest for myself.
January birthdays are the best. Working for health insurance is definitely at thing in the US. Making is making whether yarn or fabric. We will be here whenever you post.
Your sparklies are still in your hair and they're so pretty. Congratulations on your job, hoping that you to see the end of your unwanted covid journey real soon.
So nice to see you again. ❤ I’ve had long haul Covid myself. It has abated but it took well over a year. As one of your faithful subscribers I’m content with less content as you get healthy. Much love and healing light your way.
YAY, the fruit stand! BOO, long Covid. We have a local meetup at the Cupertino library to work on handwork UFOs if you have the time/energy after working at the spaceship. I hope you feel better soon.
Missed you Noelle, glad you're feeling a little better. Enjoy your year, and be kind to yourself. Interested to see your pants - I want to make some this year too! (And I have a half-made jacket to finish!) 💜
So glad you are getting health insurance and taking care of yourself. Congrats on the new job. Crafting is an act of love (at least for me) no matter what medium. I like to just hang out in my craft room doing nothing but watching crafting videos sometimes. Take the classes you already paid for. Relax and learn. 😊 We, your craft buddies, will be here when you are able. I'm currently listening to the Sandman (full cast) and it's fantastic. I'm still trying to figure out my next physical read. Something on my shelf is bound to yell at me soon. Maybe Jumper by Steven Gould..? Watched Trolls 3 with my tiny human today. I think I liked it more than he did. 😂
Congratulations on your new Health Insurance! I just found out my insurance changed and now all of my specialist doctors are outside my network! So sorry about long covid, which I didn't even know about! Hope you find good coping strategies. I'll watch whatever videos you put out...although I'll probably skip around on 'Nicole napping in her recliner'!
FYI I have two gowns I made from 95%linen and 5% Lycra. It actually went together well and I didn’t have any of the issues I’ve had in the past with stretch fabrics.
I've been dealing with a broken foot for the last six months because I broke it bad. I've been trying to clean my sewing room. I did a tiny bit of re-arranging, I moved my pattern cabinet away from the wall that the door bumps and traded places with it and one of my fabric shelves. I like the flow better, and now I have a place for Kim to stand that isn't blocking a path or a drawer or a cabinet. Glad you're back. Best wishes with the job. You and I are on the long mend, but we will get there.
Congrats on the job! I decided to try basketry, with decidedly mixed results. But learning new stuff is always fun. And I have a new pet -- a uromastyx lizard who lives in my craft room. It's fun to share space with little guy.
Really glad to hear you're doing all right, all things considered. Yay for health insurance coverage! **offers hugs** For patterns to try out for jackets and or pants, I recommend Cashmerette. The patterns are geared for a wider range of sizes. Friday Pattern Company and Chalk & Notch are also wonderful. :)
Hi Noel, great to see you again. Reasonable goals, I should catalog my books, but it gives me the shudders thinking about it. I'm afraid my ocd will take over and I'll then catalogue everything else, dvds, cds, my husband's vinyl, you know. I've got no sewing space at the moment, because we are remodelling that part of the house, so I'm writing instead. I would love to do pants, but I've thrown quilts in my path instead. I still want to make that 1882 late natural form outfit from my novel, but I'm not giving myself any sort of deadline on that. Reading? My own novel for the umpteenth time while rewriting/editing. Watching? All the things my kids thought were bad, like Halo, Whatsis Moon, and actually enjoying them. Also reruns of Friday Night Dinner, which is a must see.
❤️❤️about the long COVID. I’m dealing with a ton of fatigue too and the feeling of a life that is just work and rest … is real yo. Many sympathies and love for you. I’m glad January was better than December, i hope the trend continues. My recovery has not been linear but trending in the right direction and that’s a thing.
I am doing ALOT of cross stitch, especially now I am jobless 😊 i need to sew more, my TV drawer ls are nearly done! But I,also have a bunch of sewing machines to clean and get working (including one from 1896 😮 )
So take care of yourself first! Some times it is hard to figure what you need to do first... I had a Stroke six months go - so I have been trying to figure out what my medical needs are. Fortunately, my big problem is talking - my brain is good, and my arms and legs are good, so I can write. Some days I feel like I am in First Grade as I learn to say the words my brain already know...
oh i am so sorry to hear that! I had one of those mini strokes one time and it made it so i couldn't read for a week until my brain re-mapped, so i get it. Talking is so much harder though! Your brain will remap though! i wish you a speedy recovery! It does kind of go in spits and spurts...
I'm rewatching The Brady Bunch, season 1, episode 1 all through to the end. It's very different watching it as an adult. So far I'm on on S2, E3. My partner and I like watching old tv shows. Gunsmoke will always be my favorite though. I'm working on sewing a few 1910s outfits. I've almost finished the long line corset. I forgot how much I truly enjoy corsetry. It's good to see you back here. I hope your body continues to heal!
So good to see you! You look and sound great. Congrats on Apple and health insurance. Blessings to you for a full recovery. As an arthritis sufferer who had to give up knitting and crochet and embroidery 😢, I'd love to see all of those on your channel. Style Arc has some nice pants patterns for non Barbie body types. My best to you.
It's good to hear all the good you have been getting gooder.....wait...I looped. :) I am happy with what I get when I get it. Thank you and keep getting stronger.
As a knitter I’d very happily watch you knitting a blanket.

As a non-knitter, I agree
not a knitter but same.

Happy to see you here whenever it works out! Glad for an update, hope you continue to recover. Take care.
Thank you!

Hugs!
Thank you! I'm so sorry you are stuck with this garbage also...
I’m so sorry you suffered from this also! 💖
Thank you! 💖
I love Mercedes Lackey's Elemental Masters series!
So glad you are feeling better-ish. Congrats on the new job. Good luck with 2024 and all your goals. It's lovely to see you.
Thank you so much!
First five seconds: SHINY HAIR!
Balance in life is the key to accomplishment. You motivate many of us.🎉
Very lovely to see you back, but equally happy to see your content as and when works for you. Especially if that means you can prioritise your health, which is always the correct decision.
Good to see you again, but please take care of yourself too. Congratulations on your new job.
Thank you, I will
One of the most helpful "hints" I have ever received is the use of a timer.
No matter what
your health is more important. Enjoy your new job and looking forward to whatever projects you bring us 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Missing you. Checked yesterday to be sure i hadn't missed anything. So happy to see you today.
Noeeeeeeeeeeeeelle,
It is so good to see you; congratulations on your new job!
Oh no!! I do hope you feel better soon!
Thank you for posting an update! I was cleaning out my subscriptions yesterday and realized I hadn't seen anything from you in a while. I'm glad you're improving, and congratulations on the job! I hope that you continue to have good days :)
Edit: I would love to see random short videos about whatever you've been up to.
Thank you! I am so glad!
As a fellow January birthday 🎂 person allow me to wish you a happy belated birthday 😊. I hope your health improves 🧸🍵.
And to you too!
As you've talked about before, you're our sewing buddy. I think many of us are just happy to listen/watch while you talk to us, we'd be happy to watch you make the blanket.
Best wishes for your new job and your continued healing.❤
Oh thank you!
How are you, Noelle? Are you feeling any better from Covid?
We miss you, you are not forgotten.
Blessings and love!
Hi there!! Still very tired, but I *am* filming again!! Thank you for checking on me!! 💖
Ugh
I am very hopeful that because of "long covid" more advancement in treatment will be coming.
With hope,
Audri
hahaha it's all good and i hope you found some recommendations that are for you! I have a huge long list now! and YES CFS SUCKS...
Congrats on the new job! It was lovely to see you again, I'm always happy to watch your channel even without regular uploads. Thank you for the update.💜
Thank you so much!
New Shogun and I'm glad you're better
Just happy to know you are ok. Whatever you want to share is great. You inspired me to ask for a white board for Christmas. I LOVE it. Been so motivated to try stuff.
Wonderful! I’m so glad to hear it!
Goal #1 be kind to yourself.
2023 was a difficult health year for me, I'm learning to live with and adjust to a new job and health issues/fatigue. So I feel for you and I'm sending positive vibes your way.
Sending positive vibes right back atcha!
😢 so sorry to hear that you are still having covid fatigue. If you are enjoying your new job.
Happy to see you. Please take care of you. As for working on things I am currently working on a crochet blanket. It’s only 140+ rounds. So I work on it take a break then work on it again and repeat. So just do what you feel like doing when you feel like doing it. No guilt.
Lovely to see you! Congratulations on the job ❤ Looking forward to whatever videos you fancy making 😊
💖💖💖
I’m glad that at least he is given the room to rest and heal!!
ooo this 15 minute rule is a great idea
😘🍄Take your time ...
Congrats on the job and the upward trend with the long covid! I hope the food at the apple cafeteria is as good as it used to be!!
I’m so sorry to hear about your long Covid. But glad to see you back. Save those foot steps for important stuff.
Just work on your health and safe. I hope you feel better soon ❤ your channel
Hi Nicole! 🙋🏻♀️❤️🫂✨
Knitting content 👍🏻 It's sewing adjacent. 😄
Congratulations on the new job!!! And health insurance!!!
Hope your health continues to improve!!! 🫂🫂🫂 (My husband has chronic fatigue with his COPD. It sucks! 😟)
Nice to see you and hear how you're doing!
I'm don't sew much. (My Grandma did 😍). I like fashion and all things pretty. 💖
I'm beginning to blossom again after years of depression.
Yay blossoming!!
Don't worry about us. Just focus on your health.
I am happy that you are doing better healthwise. take care of yourself
I love your golden rule! I think I might adopt it, I'm also struggling with long covid and chronic fatigue. Thank you for the idea :)
congrats in the job! sorry about the illness. get better.
Careful, embroidery can be soooo addictive 😀.
So true!
Thanks for the video, Noel! Hope you feel better soon.
( le sigh) It was wonderful.
the door is indeed wonderful
Go you!
Thank you and yes, hearing that other people did get better does give me a lot of hope!
I love your 15 minute golden rule! That's such a good idea
Yay gaucho update!! And yeah, my non-existent butt is also hard to fit!
Wonderful!
enjoy your new job,I watched one you tuber who caught long covid quite painful to watch loosing her vitality it too her the best part of 18months to get back to "normal" so take it easy
I have also been working on learning pattern drafting, and my big sewing goal for the year is making tops that fit well, are flattering, and I enjoy wearing.
oh good luck with the drafting! I would also like to learn to do this better someday!!
Just hope you are feeling better and are resting up. I miss your content a great deal. Just wanted you to know I was thinking about you.
Awww thank you! I am sewing when i can and filming right now and should have a video relatively soon for you all!
Take care of yourself. We can all wait, we're happy whenever you can show us a new project of yours.
I'm mostly resting myself because of a torn ligament in my foot. So watching the new All Creatures Great and Small series and knitting a fair isle sweater vest for myself.
Thank you! You too! I hope your foot feels better soon!
January birthdays are the best. Working for health insurance is definitely at thing in the US. Making is making whether yarn or fabric. We will be here whenever you post.
Long covid + job, is no joke. Don't push yourself, let that body have as much rest as it wants.
Your sparklies are still in your hair and they're so pretty. Congratulations on your job, hoping that you to see the end of your unwanted covid journey real soon.
Thank you so much!
Chronic illness is a tough beast, sending you restful vibes.
Thank you!
So nice to see you again. ❤ I’ve had long haul Covid myself. It has abated but it took well over a year. As one of your faithful subscribers I’m content with less content as you get healthy. Much love and healing light your way.
I am so glad to hear that you kicked it! That gives me hope!
YAY, the fruit stand! BOO, long Covid. We have a local meetup at the Cupertino library to work on handwork UFOs if you have the time/energy after working at the spaceship. I hope you feel better soon.
Thank you!! Is there somewhere I can go for more info about the meetup? (Days and times?)
Missed you Noelle, glad you're feeling a little better. Enjoy your year, and be kind to yourself. Interested to see your pants - I want to make some this year too! (And I have a half-made jacket to finish!) 💜
“With chronic fatigue, it is a crap shoot”. So true!!! The vid so did not help! Be strong!
oh taht sandman full audio is amazing and i am also really enjoying it!
Noted!
I would enjoy blanket updates.
Noted! 😀
I’m so sorry about your foot! We will get there!
Congrats on the job! I decided to try basketry, with decidedly mixed results. But learning new stuff is always fun. And I have a new pet -- a uromastyx lizard who lives in my craft room. It's fun to share space with little guy.
Oh awesome! Pls give him pets from me!
Really glad to hear you're doing all right, all things considered. Yay for health insurance coverage!
**offers hugs**
For patterns to try out for jackets and or pants, I recommend Cashmerette. The patterns are geared for a wider range of sizes. Friday Pattern Company and Chalk & Notch are also wonderful. :)
Thank you for the suggestions!
Thank you for all the suggestions!!
Missed you!
I’m so glad to hear that you are trending in the right direction! 💖
I hope the exhaustion part of long covid improves for you and you do get better. Sending good thoughts.
Thank you!
Thank you and keep getting stronger.
oh boo! I hope you feel better soon!
