  • Here is a sequence I have developed to help improve your hip and hamstring mobility. It is 7 difference exercises, targeting specific regions and muscle groups, to not only help you increase your mobility, but also help you reduce pain in those areas.
Coming out of my 15-year professional hockey career, I had chronic pain in my left hamstring. So I created this sequence, did it 3 every Monday Wednesday and Friday for 6 weeks, and got myself completely out of pain!
Do each exercise 3 times, and hold it for :30 each. Try that 3 times a week, and you should see an increase in mobility and a reduction in pain!
Hope this helps guys, check below for links to the bands I used in the video. Also, let me know what other mobility videos you would want to see, and I will get that to you!

This is such an amazing video! Love how well you explain the exercises and what to focus on. I always thought of myself as a pretty flexible person. I flew through the hamstring stretches but man, those couch stretches absolutely killed me! That just goes to show how there is always room for improvement 💪🏼💪🏼

Excited to hear how you program your training sessions. Would be great to hear about how you think about weight progressions, pre/post workout nutrition, and rest. For future videos, would also be interesting to see videos on your form and maybe some deeper explanations of specific moves that you are performing during an actual workout - this video and your warm-up video have been great with that.

great tip and routine! I will be incorporating this into my daily routine. I popped my hamstring 2 years ago playing hockey. Grade 3 tear. Ever since then I have struggled to get it lengthened as well as keep it loose, Thank you

thank you for this awesome video Brooks! I pulled my hamstring doing sprints 3 days ago, and it pisses me off since I tried working on my mobility/explosiveness in order to avoid injuries, not to get them. I start some gentle massage/stretching tomorrow after resting/icing up until now and in a week or so I'll start your mobility/stretching program!
Could you do this kind of video on your nutrition as well please?
All the best to you and your loved ones,
    David

Great video Brooks. For the next one it would be great to see what you do to keep your back strong and mobile. I sit all day at the office and it wrecks my lower body and back.

Great content brother! Was wondering if you’d be able to do a front rack mobility routine kind of video? I see it as a big problem with newcomers to CrossFit. I personally have been struggling with it for a few months, and I’m still not where I need to be, and I’ve been having too much pain in the wrists and shoulders. I know that all my lifts that use the front rack position (Cleans, FS, jerks, push press, etc) would not only be improved, but I’d also feel safer knowing that I’d have a smaller chance of injuring those tender spots like the wrists and shoulders. Thanks! (PS. Would love to see a collab with Matt Hewett on the channel)

Brooks, I need a set of exercises to regain my knee range of motion. On a leg extension, for example, I can't go quite flat - it's about 2 degrees off of straight. The real issue is bending my knees. My left is worse than my right. This came about from a slip-on-the-ice injury about 18 years ago. My left cannot go less than 85 degrees, my right can't go past 90 degrees. So the exercises I see here that show a heel to behind knee bend are beyond what I can do now. I am working every day (you see my Twitter posts because I tag you) to improve that but I would love to hear your thoughts on improving range of motion.
