You can buy a gladiator shelf from home depot for 200 and have enough money left over to buy a rogue power rack, a bar and weights. absolutely love it! I just added the Rogue Wall mount to my home gym... the Rogue 100lb bag is wonderful.. and yes the bumper plates are essential... Love your home gym..so similar to mine yet yours is even better!! Also a Washington DC guy here and Caps fan! Wish you were still here!!!!

I love it when a garage gym is clean and functionally organized. In regards to floor maintenance and making use of limited space, I hope you don' mind me throwing my two cents in your comment thread.... 1. Get an inexpensive ($20-$40) electric leaf blower. It's makes the weekly chore of clearing out chalk, dust and any derby that snuck in from having the door open durring WOD's so much easier. If you have a shop vac you use it's "blower" port in the same manner with less effectiveness in my pinion. Just make sure it's empty otherwise you'll likely blow more more junk into the garage. 2. Over time sweat, blood, tears and grim with adorn your floor mats. You can't blow that stuff away but a 50-50 mix of Simple Green house hold cleaner and warm tap water does the job. Spray generously over the mats and allow them to soak for at least 5 minutes. Work over with a heavy bristle floor brush and mop away with clean water and a mop. Repeat until area is clean and sanitary. 3. If you run out of garage walls space you can use the garage doors as a white board. You can buy adhesive vinyl rolls online or in crafts stores in various sizes and back ground colors ($20-$40). You can cut them to size and stick them onto as many garage panels as you need. Grab some magnetized dry areas markers and you're good to go.

Great Gym
Nice gym, if I were looking for a next improvement to make it would be better lighting. Ditch the fluorescent fixtures and put in two 5 bulb track light PAR 20 style fixtures with 23 degree spot dimmable led bulbs. Use the warm halogen temp bulbs (2750k) and it will really make it feel like your outside. The spots are great for making sure there are no dark spots anywhere in the room and making sure that you can also have it where the light is not shining in someone's face.

I live in LA in Hermosa Beach and recently decided to fully commit to giving up my Equinox membership and building a garage gym.
