I think the distant enemies having a slower frame rate was an intention means of helping the game run smoothly, because beyond that I never experienced any stuttering or slow down in my (now post-game) playthrough
Shin Megami Tensei V did the same thing. Sadly, it’s the best case scenario for Switch games with any degree of draw distance. I prefer it rather than deal with pop in.
This game was just pure fun every step of the way. Between the collectibles, missions, mini-games, timed challenges, upgrades, and boss rush there is a surprising amount of replay value here. And those post-game bosses are no joke! But I'll admit I'm gonna miss the red and black graphics you guys used.
I looooved this game so much. Went all the way to top 1 kirby game straight away. For those worrying about the challenge, there's plenty if you keep going and, either way, it's super engaging all the way through.
Can't believe the last Kirby game I played was Canvas Curse on the DS. This looks like a surprising hit though, has that visual style to make anyone smile.
Ok this one still has Brandon Jones' voice. I'm scared for when it stops. I've been listening to his voice since GameTrailers. I'm sad he's gone. I wish him the best. I'm thankfully for his being. I will miss him very... very much.
A couple things to note - Brandon's not retiring for another month, and even when he does, he'll still be doing VO for us. Also, the new review style is something we'll be doing alongside our traditional format. No plans for it to be a full replacement any time soon. -Bloodworth
Right, he won't be involved in the day to day operations in any form, but he'll be on-hand to do VO for us. He even started a new tier on our Patreon where people can submit short things for him to voice. -Bloodworth
This game is so incredibly charming in every way. The characters animating at 15 fps in the distant background honestly looks adorable and fits the tilt-shifted aesthetic incredibly well. It's something that looks completely awful in a game like Monster Hunter or Elden Ring, but it fits in perfectly here. I wouldn't normally excuse it, but when it works it works.
It's also just a very common optimization technique. Unless it's very jarring and the distance it happens is very close to the camera, it's kind of odd to even point it out. Like imagine critiquing the use of LODs in an open world.
Nice review with on point analysis and presentation and listening to a nice, well trained, voice that even international, non English native speakers, can understand and appreciate. What more can someone ask.
I recently 100%'d the game. Great game and imo a must for fans of the genre. It might not be the most challenging game in the world but I think the appeal comes from other aspects. Solid visuals, great soundtrack, inspired level design, charming world and characters, very fun boss fights... To be honest, considering this is the first 3D Kirby game they made, I'm quite impressed with how well the formula has translated from 2D to 3D. They have a great base for the next installment, assuming it will be a 3D entry.
I still think people are looking over how absolutely gorgeous the game is. Just don’t undersell it, the game is gorgeous and the reasons why it runs at 30 are kinda plentiful when you look into them. Now, this isn’t to say I wouldn’t want it to be 60fps cuz I would, the game looks so good that if it was 60fps and touched up some shadows here and there it’s basically on par wit a PS4 game
Holy shit didnt know brandon jones had retired from easy allies.. But i cant describe how much i apretiate hime coming back to give us his amazing voice. It really adds to the review. Ive enjojed his voice and the script in these reviews since i was a kid looking at GT reviews, and are to this day the only reviews i truly listen to. No doubt. And Brandon jones is a big part of that. Thank you Brandon for still doing voice over, i really aapretiate that
Post-game Kirbys have at times been known for a good challenge. I did 100% in Kirby: Super Star Ultra (my favorite Kirby game) and it was one of the more challenging games Nintendo had put out around the time of the Wii/ DS time.
First review with the new logo? Looking good! Making my way through this Kirby game and it is quite fun and enjoyable. Glad to see the pink puff ball is back!
There are certain fonts that are “display fonts” and certain colors that are “display colors”. These are the colors that should be used only for things like headings. I think that you guys should consider putting all of your other type in black or white or gray. I know you like the new color scheme, but it is often unreadable.
@@heybinsu So the only text during this video was the channel name and score. Both are spoken and the score text is 90% of the screen. Any possible issue with readability with these can be solved with a transparent white or black background to make it stand out from the video game on screen. The color choices are even fine in my color blindness tools as the text shapes are clearly readable.
I played it entirely co-op with my boyfriend and the camera was ROUGH. We took turns as to who got to be Kirby, and it was always so frustrating when one of us would want to look at something but the camera would yoink us back or into an enemy/environmental hazards.
Bro there’s so many switch games I want right now but I can’t chose 1 my options I’m thinking are this Luigi’s mansion, breath of the wild, astral chain, ninja gaiden and the Lego Star Wars game all are probably amazing games which is why I have no clue which one would you guys pick if you could only pick one ☝️
Does the new "EZA" profile picture look * really * off to anyone else? The letters are all squished and covering up too much of each other. There's also a pixely white outline around each letter that makes the logo look unfinished and stops the letters from flowing into each other.
He did say he will still narrate any script the Allies send him, so you'll still hear him. How much is unknown though, since they did mention wanting sine of the Allies to narrow their reviews to make them more personal.
The cutscenes still just musical? I didn't like the fact they was devoid of sound effects as it made some scenes weird to me. Else I enjoyed the demo and excited to get the full version at some point
Crazy how enemy far away frame movement has become something that is nitpicked on today's game review. Gamers nowadays only cared about hyper realistic graphics framerates ray tracing terraflop cinematics and doesn't care about gameplay lol. Nintendo can't survive without new powerful hardware especially with how amazing steam deck right nowm
@@theLikou1 Nintendo keep shutting down steam deck video on UA-cam my dude. Even Nintendo knows the threat of steam deck on handheld market. Remember Nintendo tech is 15 years behind sony Microsoft or valve

I think its not a big issue... its just the draw distance and it doesnt hurt gameplay
Monster Hunter Rise does this as well. And SMTV.
There are many games that do this.

Wait, he left Easy Allies? Noooo, I’m also a GameTrailers veteran and I was so happy to find out he was still doing reviews here!

My daughter's (5 and 4) are LOVING this game... It's so great to see their joy playing a classic Nintendo game

I don’t mind it at all in this game. Looks cute even. In Legends Arceus it would bother waaaaaaaay more
Life can be hard. Some times its nice to play a game because it is fun.
I'm glad that Kirby is getting his due on the Switch.

I know you like the new color scheme, but it is often unreadable.
Agree. What makes the previous color more readable is because they use basic color like red / black / white which works in almost anything.
@@heybinsu Sure, but those colors are ubiquitous on other channels. The new colors have caught my eye much more while casually scrolling.
@@milk_bath For making it standout, sure, the contrast is working. But we were talking about the readability.
@@milk_bath tbf that's fine for thumbnails, but doesn't impact a discussion on readability/clarity within videos you're already watching.
