I went into the demo with the attitude of I'm not buying this game. After the demo I am most definitely buying the game. I like the art style and smooth gameplay.
The demo is a blast, although I wouldn't say things ran perfectly. I played in handheld mode, so keep that in mind, but I noticed some noticeable frame rate dips when running behind large objects (I think they were trees). The objects go transparent so you can still see your character and Kirby was definitely moving more slowly. I also saw some Pokemon Arceus-style frame rate drops when looking at movement in the background. I hope that kind of stuff isn't in the final game. I'm excited for this one!
The frame drops on background movement are intentional to save processing power, so I expect them to be there in the final game. It's not exactly frame drops so much as it is deliberately only rendering every 3rd frame.
I don’t mind that it’s not a huge open world. As long as the levels are large and creative, some fun secrets. I am kind of disappointed that the camera is so fixed though.
There isn't really anything wrong with a fixed camera, it depends entirely on the game/level design. Would you want a controllable camera in any other Kirby game? No! It would needlessly complicate things and allow you to ruin the perfect viewing angle for the content. It's just a way to frame the level in the way the designers want. As a result, they can also hide things using perspective in a smart way and such. You can't do this with a free camera. It's just another tool, what matters is how it's used.
Tbh, having a huge open-world BOTW-esque game would've been too ambitious for Kirby's first fully-3D game, so I'll cut HAL some slack. I just finished the demo, and I had a lot of fun. I'm definitely looking forward to playing the full game.
I loved the demo! It was so fun. My only issue is abilities don't really have enough attacks. The dodging and such are fun to use! And the greatsword, oh I love it!
As someone who finds open world games extremely overwhelming and time consuming I loveee how they have chose to not do that with this game ! Just fun stages etc works perfect for my little basic gamer brain 😂😭
I'm looking forward to this game so much, especially because I canplay a Kirby game again with my husband! I am always glad when there is a game that allows a couple friendly couch co-op.
I honestly think that the people expecting some open world were being a bit silly, I was just expecting another linear Kirby game with a lot of fun features and hopefully a reasonable challenge and it looks like that's what it is. I didn't realize that there was a demo until I saw this, so I'll definitely be playing it!
will be frustrating if the response and reviews for this are critical because its not what people thought it would be after that first trailer. Hopefully its given a fair review based on what it is, vs what people wanted. I for one loved Mario 3D world!
I played about 45 minutes of the demo. At least for me, the new Kirby game is one of the best Switch games that I've played. So much so to where I'm going to get the GameStop pre-order, because I want those pins.
I like how in this video they don't say kirby and the forgotten land in every single sentence like they did with the pokemon ARKeus video. But you could of just said its more like mario 3D world from the start than keep going on about how its not like mario odyssey did take a while to get to that point
I only hope that it is a decent length. I want to more content, because star allies felt lacking at the start. If it takes at least 10 hours to beat the story, then this will definitely be a must have on the switch.
I really liked the demo but it wasn’t enough to make me buy the full game though. It looks pretty, music is great and it it controls well - but it‘s so so not challenging in any way. All secrets - at least in the first area - are basically shoved in your face and the general difficulty is so low, I ran through the demo without losing a single fraction of my health. Guess it’s a great game for beginners though. I‘d recommend everyone else to play the demo first. It’s fun - but it’s a bit too much harmless fun for my taste.
@The Disney Dude: No need to be rude. Agree to disagree. It’s a comment section of a preview of an upcoming video game, so I felt free to post a comment on it. If your opinion differs that’s fine with me. Be excellent to each other and party on! ✌️
im actually really glad it's not open world. Not everything needs to be open world and I think the level based structure works the best for kirby's more simplistic gameplay! They never really advertised it as open world or anything everyone just assumed that when they saw him moving in 3d. Kinda a dumb thing to assume but I can see why, with everything becoming open world for no reason.

So excited to pick this up physically
Open world games are fun but I like a good linear game too. I would be sad if every Zelda game after breath of the wild was open world
this isn't even like 3d world tbh. There are missions inside each world like galaxy and odyssey. Its kind of a combination of the two
Tbh, having a huge open-world BOTW-esque game would've been too ambitious for Kirby's first fully-3D game, so I'll cut HAL some slack.
I just finished the demo, and I had a lot of fun. I'm definitely looking forward to playing the full game.
I loved the demo! It was so fun. My only issue is abilities don't really have enough attacks. The dodging and such are fun to use! And the greatsword, oh I love it!
The slide is usable with guard + jump, and you can jump cancel it. Give it a try with Sword for something special.
@@FlameUser64 I did, when I found out I was happy
As someone who finds open world games extremely overwhelming and time consuming I loveee how they have chose to not do that with this game ! Just fun stages etc works perfect for my little basic gamer brain 😂😭
Is the game easy even on wild mode? I like a bit harder games and Kirby is known for low difficulty and I'm not sure if I should buy it.
Ngl I wanted open world. Kirby’s air ride city trial is still epic
I'm looking forward to this game so much, especially because I canplay a Kirby game again with my husband! I am always glad when there is a game that allows a couple friendly couch co-op.
and what about the wild freaky sex ?
@@misterae6430 dude please chill
Yeah the Co-op is really solid from the demo I tried I was loving bandana Dee can’t wait to play with more friends
I honestly think that the people expecting some open world were being a bit silly, I was just expecting another linear Kirby game with a lot of fun features and hopefully a reasonable challenge and it looks like that's what it is. I didn't realize that there was a demo until I saw this, so I'll definitely be playing it!
Hope you have fun with the demo! ^^ My sister and I are gonna play it for dinner, too, exciteddd X3
The second trailer made it obvious it was more Galaxy than Odyssey style. Not sure how some missed this.
will be frustrating if the response and reviews for this are critical because its not what people thought it would be after that first trailer. Hopefully its given a fair review based on what it is, vs what people wanted. I for one loved Mario 3D world!
I haven’t played a Kirby game since triple deluxe on the 3ds and it looks like this will be the perfect game to come back to😊😊😊
I played about 45 minutes of the demo. At least for me, the new Kirby game is one of the best Switch games that I've played. So much so to where I'm going to get the GameStop pre-order, because I want those pins.
How long is the game ? Can I expect many hours of fun or beat it in 1 day ?
I like how in this video they don't say kirby and the forgotten land in every single sentence like they did with the pokemon ARKeus video. But you could of just said its more like mario 3D world from the start than keep going on about how its not like mario odyssey did take a while to get to that point
The only thing about the demo is it didn't really show anything super new. I'm still gonna get it though, I love Kirby
I only hope that it is a decent length. I want to more content, because star allies felt lacking at the start. If it takes at least 10 hours to beat the story, then this will definitely be a must have on the switch.
Even if it aint Odyssey style this is gonna be one of the cleanest 3d Platformers in a hot minute
Did you have to re upload this for some reason? I watched this earlier, but it got turned private
anyone know if demo progress can be transferred to the main game?
Kirby so frickin cute
Never played a Kirby game before but after playing the demo I think I’ll be getting this
does it run at 60fps? Bc I tried the demo and it ran at 30...
Cool. Didn't need to say anything then. Nobody cares if it didn't make you buy it.
In the demo if u press “up” on the d-pad Kirby will laugh or say “Hi!”
Sure, it would be nice to have an open world game, but we have plenty of open world games right now and this will be a nice change.
The demo was super fun what will make or break this game is how many stages it has. I hope a ton
I actually didn’t realize you could suck the stars up in the Gorilla boss until I watched this.🤯
How long will this game be
Played the demo, it feels very smooth definitely a purchase when it’s on sale
sadly nintendo 1st party almost never go on sale if you plan get physical you should get it soon or later because physical copies tend to increase in price not lowering if you want digital then you might get a sale in a year or so if we are lucky
@@BeanSparrow your probably right that’s what happened with xenoblade 2 I was waiting for a sale and now they are nor in stores
@@BeanSparrow Maybe Black Friday it will go on sale?
If you beat the Demo on Wild Mode, you get 2 Codes for the Full Version
They added a hard mode finally, but sadly it’s still very easy.
Imagine if UA-cam was a place we physically go to. Like you go to a huge UA-cam building to watch Zion give a talk on Kirby, or watching a streamer and the entire chat is sitting right there. If only it really were the case so I could actually wrap my mouth around that subscribe button
Wonder why they re-uploaded this video
Personally don't mind the fixed camera, I'm crap at it anyways!
I love how the game looks but I didn’t really have fun in the demo, hopefully I will find it more exciting when the full game is released.
I know this is a big nitpick but "It's got that all new mouthful mode ability that brings to mind odyssey's capping mechanics..." sorry what? isn't kirby's whole idea to use their enemies powers? Not saying that the writing is wrong, but shouln't that comparison go the other way around?
Always looking forward to another Kirby game. I too thought it would've been open world, but maybe this'll be a precursor to that.
I can't get enough of the demo.
I've been re-playing it again and agin.
This is great, it's like Crash Bandicoot with its corridor level design
"Odyssey's copy mechanics"
Wait, did you just compare Kirby to Mario Odyssey, claiming that Kirby copied Mario?
Bruh, Kirby has been doing this shit since the 90s. :P
Forgotten land is the most crisp game this year! Stunning
