"Knock knock" "Who's there?" "Not Wyat." I laughed way to hard at this. I always look forwards to the little conversations the figures have as they're glued into place.
This build is so visually appealing, and I’m amazed how even small adjustments in angle reveal different stories. And so sorry to hear about Wyatt 😢. Love this build Boylei!!!
These builds are always so charming. The little worker men add so much character to it. "Not Wyatt" got a laugh out of me too. Your little mini-men conversations that you sometimes sprinkle around a video never fail to make me chuckle.
Well I'll be damned! Now I can't wait to see your take on the Chupacabras... I love your Wilde West World. The stories I make in my head while watching you create those miniatures and when you show the beauty shots... makes me want to write some fan-fic based for your work.
This was such a fun collab, hope we can join forces again in the near future! Also, I'm highly anticipating the chupacabra and giant bearded dragon dioramas!
Love it! I know you have the sheriff’s office, but how about adding a town jail too? You could go to town creating eccentric outlaws, and maybe some steampunk security automata!
Being a rookie when it comes to model building, your skills and techniques have helped me overcome my fear of kit bashing, into a fun challenge. Another nice build! BTW...you are correct about the prices for model railroad building kits!
What I've started to use for flocking is ground-up tea leaves. I saved up used tea bags and let them dry, then I use a shiv to short out the finer bits from the more significant leafy bits (which I save to use as a "Denser" flock), then I put the finer tea leaves in a coffee grinder and set it on espresso grind and grind it down. It gives a good cover on a glued surfaces, and since I drink tea a lot, I always have a great supply!
now i love watching this universe grow and i’ve thought that my favorite of the set was locked down and secured. but for some reason this one really spoke to me and i love it. maybe it’s seeing the men and being able to imagine their lives and their families relief that they work in the saw mill and not out in the prairie. just amazing per usual! ps im stoked for the bearded dragon 😅
Cool build! My guess is that the tanks hold water. It could either be a cooling system for the forestall (maybe it's an older model that tends to overheat) or a cooling system for some other mechanical part of the mill. The water could also be a dust suppressor or an emergency fire suppression system. I love that you leave little details in your builds and let our imaginations fill in the gaps of what they might be
Definitely my favorite build in the whole town. Also, "Not Wyatt" is probably going to need to watch his back for a while. Things can get pretty dicey, even in the relative safety of a lumber mill yard.😂
The knock knock joke 😂😂😂 I just love this town. I really love the paint pallete you use, the colours are so lovely. The theme is brilliant and your humour shines through in every episode. Thanks for making such great videos ❤
Wyldwood is genuinely one of the best paints for wood and leather, love the build and the paint job! Will have to look out for used train station parts in the future
Really well done! The actual saw mill part with the plank being cut reminds me of a saw mill I seen as a kid in the Cascades in Washington State. Really, really cool! Brings back some great memories of hiking thru the Cascades and Rockies with the fam. Keep up the great work! ❤
As for how they rolled the logs onto the mill, they used log peavy's to roll them onto the log carriage, but for being a mechanized mill, you got it! I've made a log peavy with the old man and they are not easy to use or make. Haha. My blacksmithing skills are limited. It did work though.
Really love how some of the buildings in the town connect to sets outside side of it. In that regard, it could be interesting to see some sort of gun/ammunition store to show where people get both the smaller rifles and handguns as well as the larger gatling and machine guns. It could also be a place to get normal tools as well, or maybe even some dynamite.
If you're using contrasts paints, I recommend also using a matte varnish on the models. Contrasts paints have a trademark glossy and gloopy finish to them, but matte varnish removes it completely and makes them look way better, at least imo. I use AK ultra matte varnish.
What an amazing piece to the town, it was looking pretty good before priming, but when it was done it looked absolutely stunning. But I would expect nothing less from you.
Man i love the stuff you make. Just blows my mind that you are world building with models. The wild imaginary west would be an amazing world to write in.
And now I have the Log Driver's Waltz stuck in my head, thanks so much for that XD A log driver in this universe would definitely need that hooked pole as much for smacking the crap out of giant water beasties as for wrangling the logs
Im glad you added a new section to this. Maybe make a small pond where they float the logs to the mill. Like in the old days. That would be cool. I cant wait to see what you mKe next
Lovely build (as always)!! You always seem to work in such a tidy way, I am jealous. Always is there a role playing game for this world, there needs to be.
With all the lumber and fantastical elements it's making me think of Paul Bunyan 63 ax handles high and his giant Blue Ox Babe. I feel they'd fit right in this world, though probably deep, deep in wildest of woods.
Really enjoyed this one, B-man - it's got a threeway (oh my!), a Mill, nine minutes of calm, chill Boylei banter, a "gaping hole" (oh my again!) and even a small slice of that naughty Dan. and LOOK ---> a Little secret for those who are still listening(reading) this robotic rant - my Maker added a Boylei 'homage in the "No Dig Bill" while waiting for his tires to be replaced this morning. Bill just might have a pet fish in his home that slightly resembles our lovely aquatic crafter master. xoxo
Incredible. Please don't ever stop. I want to do this so bad. I just have to get out of my own head and accept the first few are probably going to look like garbage. I want to be perfect my first time out. But I also know that's not how it works.
I think Nathan from YT's "Out of the Woods" would give that sawmill a thumbs up. Just paint the log carriage orange and make Woodmizer sponsor the video. Love watching the town slowly grow. Cheers.
I was in the Adobe Western Art Gallery in Fort Worth, TX, last week and came a cross a number of paintings by Val Mayerik that reminded me of the Imaginary Wild West. They all involved cowboys and dinosaurs. Among the were bulldogging small dinos, and dinosaur drive (to market?) and a cowboy being chased by a T-Rex. Unfortunately, I can't find any example on the internet so can't send you a url. Fun stuff.
For a video, you should give us a tour of whatever room you keep all these models in. They all look so good, but it would be awesome to see them all in one place, especially all the ones that go together like the imaginary wild west models.
If you ever want to add something small that connects this one to others, you could have a hopper full of sawdust and someone shoveling it into a compressor to make logs for burning in cast iron stoves. Would also make a convenient clutter item to add to a market, bakery, a butcher who smokes meats, so on
Another banger little brother. Your videos inspired me to try some new things with my knife making/leather work. Also, one summer during high school, I worked at a small sawmill this fella basically made himself. Your mill is amazingly similar to his. Excellent work.
Omg the "not Wyatt" made me spit coffee 😂😂😂 My dad was a log scaler. The guy who puts teeny little spikes on the bottom of his boots and runs along the logs while they're in the water moving to the mill, to measure and grade them. He had CRAZY stories... logging used to be an intense industry even without giant lizards... but giant lizards probably make it way more fun 😂 This was a cool addition.
I was just watching your Train Robbery video, and it made me think of another building being a railway station with a train stopped there. Could be interesting to tie all your train diaramas
Wow amazing! Love the weathering, the colourful sheet metal roof and the sawdust! One addtion I think would have made it even better was more sawdust, especially around the bases of structures inside the sawmill itself. Other than that, amazing as always!
The clip of bill at the beginning made me think I had clicked ‘next’ on my playlist - 😂 but alas it was a feature in your vid, Aw I love it when y’all colab with build mates❤
Fore real, go follow Gameyy. Not only are his builds absolutely top notch, his pre-planning drawings are gorgeous, his editing and sound work is immaculate, and perhaps somehow above all that, his writing and narrations are some of the most compelling pieces of his work. His current sub count is a crime. Go help fix it. In other news, great work once again, Boylei! This series remains my favorite of yours. Being able to play a TTRPG with a set this varied and detailed must feel like being a kid in a candy story.
Great! Another sort of industrial facility which is "powered" by a captured WIW creature would be cool I think. Or maybe some kind of farm building where domesticated WIW creatures are kept for giving milk or eggs or scales for armor or something.
I love watching this world slowly grow
I used to but now it goes too slow, like this building, their not very good.
@@docholliday4546bruh what😂 this was one of the best ones imo. Loved the attention to detail
@@docholliday4546What a hilariously out of pocket comment to make 😂 There's no way that isn't rage bait
I’m the most liked reply because I like my own comment
Just a small detail, not a criticism. But the cut planks are a lot longer than the trees. I know there may have been some longer trees but....
A fine addition to the Wild Imaginary West. I love the sawdust pile and the weathering of this build is perfect.
The "not Wyatt" joke got me laughing this morning 😂
Well played, and nice build!
Me too. I almost spit my coffee. That’s why I love these creators. Talent and humor.
Too soon man, too soon
Same 😂 funny as all get out

My names Wyatt😢
Agreed
@@wyattwilliams9087What?
I love the action in this one... more "normal" than fighting giant animals... and this would be an essential business in the town. Thanks you!
This build is so visually appealing, and I’m amazed how even small adjustments in angle reveal different stories.
And so sorry to hear about Wyatt 😢.
Love this build Boylei!!!

I love the half sawn piece of wood! It’s been great seeing this world grow over time. Great Video!

Dude the level of realism you manage to put into your dioramas is insane. Fantastic build and video!
Great build! Gameyy builds is awesome 👍👍
I love the stories in his videos. I found him about a month ago and went through all of his videos in like a week. They are great
Absolutely incredible work. Always excited to see what you're gonna build next
You both (all three) knocked it out of the park! The real saw dust was a great addition to the diorama!
"... not Wyatt" 😂👍

These videos where you build the town up little by little are some of my favorite things to watch! Great video!
It's a shame about Wyatt, though...
Always look forward to the Wild Imaginary West builds. This one was right at home in the setting.
Your Western town builds are the best!

I love the Imaginary West, almost as much as i love you, Boylei.
You probably needed it more than I did!
Glad you enjoy the Wild West too. It’s my favorite.
The knock knock joke 😂😂😂 I just love this town. I really love the paint pallete you use, the colours are so lovely. The theme is brilliant and your humour shines through in every episode. Thanks for making such great videos ❤
I really like the way the sawdust pile looks. i imagine the workers have to make a decision to go around or trudge through it multiple times a day.
Wyldwood is genuinely one of the best paints for wood and leather, love the build and the paint job! Will have to look out for used train station parts in the future
I agree with you, that half-sawn plank might be the best detail in this diorama! Really cool! Really well done!
An idea for floors: after roughing them, use fine sandpaper to burnish in traffic paths. Areas worn smooth from heavy use are a nice detail.
Fantastic! I was so excited to see a new Wild West build. I’m not saying I squealed with delight this morning, but I’m not saying I didn’t.
Love this town so far. Hope it continues to expand in the future.
I love the basketball hoop. What an amazing touch.
I don't know what some of your mechanisms are for, but it's fun watching you. You are a maestro - and fun to listen to!

I like the little basketball hoop you added. It gives a little extra realism to the piece, lets us know what they do on lunch breaks!
Awesome diorama, this is my favorite diorama series on UA-cam. A log rider (down a river) would go quite well with this setting!

Nice bash, I’ve seen that kit at many train shows and I’d have never realized it was the base of this if I saw the mill before the video.
Now all your town needs is a model of Serenity from the TV series Firefly, and then it'll be really good. 😉👍
