These work awesome! I've been using the original since it came out. One note I'd say on what TC did in the video is that there isn't a need to go to the guided cassette. You can sharpen to a blazing sharp mirror finish with the blade grinding attachment only.
I bought the mk 2 work sharp two days ago.. I now have knives that are sharper than they were new. My buck 110 was so dull it was unreal..in just two minutes it will now shave my face hair..
As others have said. No need to go back to the cartridge. If you use the cartridge, as the instructions state, make sure to start and stop with the blade in contact. Otherwise you end up rounding the heel and tip like you did. I prefer the blade grinding attachment from start to finish, that way I can lift or start at either end to prevent this from happening.
Does anyone else think that the edge guide has a design flaw to where it should come out further towards the user so that the blades edge is even grinded? Also, doesn't the felt pad support feel like it should be more firm so that it stays steadier for a less wobbly grind?
It goes far faster if you follow the instructions and work one side to a bur and then move to the other side. This is how professional sharpeners work a blade. This will decrease the total amount of steel that you end up removing and your knives will last longer. You can purchase 1 x 18 belts from many places. The exact same belts that are used on knife makers 2 x 72 is available for the 1 x18. This includes even leather strops.
It really wasn’t necessary to go back to the original attachment to finish your sharpening. Both attachments are made to do a complete job. Use one or the other, no need to go back and forth. The blade grinding attachment has wider belts and can handle larger blades.
I have one of the original work sharp sharpeners. It does not put an even grind on each side of the knife so I am leary about buying the newer version.
Perfect video. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!!!!
Thanks for watching and we are glad it helped!
Nice job and very well explain.I am ordering mine very soon
Thinking of buying it.
You will absolutely love it

How does the edge angle guide work when you get to the tip? There's no support and it just wobbles
Your doing good better than i would 😄👍

Keep up the good work and vids... Be safe and take care, "God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 😇🙏👊
could you have sharpened the knife with the original attachment?

We always suggest reading the directions first, watch official videos from worksharp next, and only use TC as a reference guide lol
Does anyone use that flat platform thats on the away side as youre sharpening like a regular belt grinder?
You can use that to get straight edges instead of convex edges
Mine works well
