42:34 Reps are all contextual to your goals.
43:34 Many women hold back to avoid over-developing the upper body.

53:34 Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy helped Holly balance her hormones, thus improve
her energy levels, sleep, libido, and ability to train hard consistently.
56:44 Women need testosterone and men need estrogen.
01:06:29 Holly eats 3 to 4 times a day, prioritizing protein and fat.

I eat a large salad with a protein almost every single day. Even when I cook my egg whites, I throw it on top of kale and shredded broccoli slaw. But when I go to my parents house to eat, I always get constipated when I stay up there. Because most of their diet is Protein and vegetables. As a runner that is hard I do not like to feel like there’s a block of cement sitting in my stomach. So I always have to travel with those Dulcolax chews- Which which I don’t really like to do because I don’t wanna force myself to have diarrhea and sometimes I think that those Dulcolax make you really dehydrated. I noticed a huge difference in my sodium water balance when I have to take that stuff. Also when I’m up at my parents house in Florida, I run outside on the bridge so it’s very hot and I tend to get dehydrated, but I can’t stand to be constipated up there with their meat diet

WOW! So I’m approaching 40 here in the next couple months and I’ve slowly been gaining more weight, partly from not eating as well as I had years back, but also from having aches and pains in various places that made it not so fun to exercise. I kept looking at exercising like it was just torture. Even more so than throughout my 20’s and 30’s. But you said something that dawned on me…”long femurs”. I have NEVER thought about that being a “thing”. It makes total sense though and connects so many dots! SO many people talk about doing the typical barbel squats and I’ve always been afraid of hurting my back and a lot of my pain is in my SI joint and tight legs, mainly thighs but it’s now affecting my calves and what not because I’m not working out as much and things are so tight. I’m going to have to focus on exercises that caters to my long femurs because I have very short calves and while I’m not tall, I have always had that body build. Thank you so much!!!!!!

The way I see it now, protein is the treat and foundation for health. Good quality food and protein is expensive, there is no money to waste and why would you if you are investing in quality. It's a lifestyle budget choice. I used to love Pizza, but now if I have a lot of protein and enjoy it, everything else will take care of itself. Body starts to desire quality stuff. Organic blue berries tastes great, and benefits. That's my treat. Anything good is a treat, cheat meals are a old way of thinking now..Just enjoy it all or don't.

I wonder if her success in bodybuilding has a direct correlation with her parents prioritizing protein while growing up?
I am from a third world country, where protein is rare to have in your meal, and one or two eggs are diluted to feed a family of 6.
I remember my mom only giving steak to my dad, we got the meat flavor, or a tiny piece. If I asked for more, there never was more. 🤔
So I was stuffed with potatoes and rice, the cheapest option available. Minimal vegetable too.

They can jump very high and go without food for days, their muscle anatomy is at its finest in the natural state. None of us can go without food We’ll die within 48 hours. We’re terribly weak. to ease the pain in the neck, stop watching. Here it is Building muscle and losing fat, especially for individuals over 40, can be approached with a combination of targeted exercises, proper nutrition, and lifestyle adjustments. Here are some general tips to consider:
    1. **Resistance Training:** Incorporate strength training exercises into your routine at least 2-3 times per week. Focus on compound movements like squats, deadlifts, bench presses, and rows to work multiple muscle groups simultaneously.
    2. **Progressive Overload:** Gradually increase the intensity of your workouts by adding more weight, increasing repetitions, or reducing rest time between sets. This helps stimulate muscle growth and improve strength.
    3. **Cardiovascular Exercise:** Include cardiovascular activities such as brisk walking, cycling, or swimming to improve heart health and support fat loss. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity cardio per week.
    4. **Protein-Rich Diet:** Consume adequate protein to support muscle repair and growth. Include lean sources of protein such as chicken, fish, tofu, legumes, and dairy products in your meals.
    5. **Balanced Nutrition:** Focus on a balanced diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats. Limit processed foods, sugary drinks, and excessive amounts of saturated fats and refined sugars.
    6. **Adequate Rest:** Ensure you're getting enough sleep each night, as rest is crucial for muscle recovery and overall well-being. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night.
    7. **Stay Hydrated:** Drink plenty of water throughout the day to support hydration, energy levels, and overall health.
    8. **Consistency:** Stay consistent with your workouts and nutrition plan. Progress may take time, so be patient and stay committed to your fitness goals.

@@HH-gv8mx You should be exercising in a fasted state.
I had horrible IBS, constipation, SIBO, gallbladder sludge and stones when I was whole foods, plant based. Fiber blocks you up because it is not digestible. I always thought it was supposed to "clean you out" but it actually does the opposite. We are not like ruminant animals with a cud and four stomachs. We have shorter digestive tracts than other herbivores too. Fiber and plants also do not trigger gallbladder release of bile. Even though I always added plant based fats, it was not enough to trigger the gallbladder to release bile acids and I nearly lost my gallbladder because the bile would just sit in there are get too concentrated, sludgy and even form stones. I ended up in the ER so many times with horrible attacks.
It was not until I dumped all that useless fiber and began eating clean animal protein & fats that I healed my SIBO, gallbladder disease, IBS, GERD, constipation (plus hemorrhoids).
I think that Zoe Harcombe really makes the science of the fiber myth very understandable. I saw her talks AFTER I had already made my own N of 1 discovery, but it is very good to watch. Good luck to you. 👍🏻

@@nutech1810I didn't say 80%. Fat adaptation happens with consistency. Consistently not ingesting carbs. Performance needs protein too because the turnover is higher, so 80% fat is probably not optimal. Most athletes do best with 1:1 on mass (g), with personal variations +/- not much, depending on type of sport as well as individual metabolism.
