    Love the energy of Grandma and Geega making an alliance, despite the religious difference, to joke about the weird insular community thing.
    Same shirt/hair style/cufflinks thing reminded me of those videos of wives secretly making their husband the same as other husbands to "prank" them.
    Could that be why they look similar? Or is it the cultish community thing secretly spreading by disguising it as a joke, so other men don't feel as weird since "they seen it online" (does feel a little conspiracy, even though I say that myself)
    I definitely got the vibe that the weird wife is doing things that is separating the cousin away from his original family and reducing resistance to move: antagonizing other family members, attempting to remove pets so they can move back more easily, and kind of making acts that lets the cousin having to pick a side if he isn't careful enough with his reaction. NGL reminds me a little of how abusive relationship and cults work.

    There is a section of the main line Christian churches that is no-longer recognized as Christian by most standards. A decent chunk of united Methodist clergy no-longer recognize either the bible or tradition as a worthy moral source, and see their role as essentially to provide emotional uplift to their congregation, as well as to elaborate on widely held moral standards. There is a reason to the madness so to speak, but some of these clergy more closely resemble a Buddhist teacher in ideology and action than any christian sect that existed 100+ years ago.

    Lots of protestant religions that have strict dress code. Mennonites, Apostolics, and some types of Pentecostals. The men will all dress alike, and have similar hairstyles, and the same with women. Not only that, but some of them will live in similar homes and drive similar cars. I know that the apostolics that live near me do not socialize with anyone outside of the church. They will speak to people, but do not include them in any social gathering. Also, the church requires a percentage of a family’s earnings, and any major purchases must be approved by the church. To me it’s strange, but I suppose it works for them.

    it makes me think autism. the sensitivity to sound is a big tell to me. the wide open eyes also seem like a common trait (O-O), the need to seek the comfort of a familiar structured environment (going back to her family), the being in a cult (autistic people are more susceptible to being indoctrinated due to being more gullible) a lot of things line up in my eyes 👀the meat thing might have been because of small differences in the type of meat or the way it was cooked that differs from the way they are comfortable having it

    • @ethanhodges4283
      @ethanhodges4283 Місяць тому +3

      That's not something that would change suddenly. If a sensitivity bothers an autist, it's generally always bothered them unless a major life change happened. For instance, if I am to close to a train, the repetitive clunk-clunk makes me feel angry. It doesn't make sense, but it's always been that way.
      I've known and seen too many cult-lite people, so I know that behavior is a conditioned or unconsciously learned manipulation tactic. Isolating others into their group is natural because their whole group does it. It's sort of like they're trained to do abusive and dishonest things to make their group the only support system so one has to rely on it.
      I've lived in Mississippi and the south, so it's pretty common here. If it takes a few little white lies to get you hooked, it's for your own good and is justified. Also, the crazy eyes are something we're taught to look out for. That's a sign of someone who's eyes are strained from focusing on seeing every little problem they can nitpick and use.
      For autistic people being more susceptible to cults: yes, but it's more so due to being isolated for being different. However, autistic people are more likely to ask questions if something doesn't make logical sense, so a lot of autist get extra attention to keep them in line if they are in a cult. The answer, "because I/the book said so" happens to children like this in Sunday school, and the logical inconsistencies can lead a lot to leave if it isn't beaten out of them.
