My salute to Prof Tajuddin for his unwavering courage to speaking up, addressing the elephant in the room. Not many intellectual Malays dare to speak about the pressing sensitive issues we face in Malaysia, not even Keluar Sekejap, you can tell that KJ is trying to preserve his “political brand” and waiting for the right moment to jump back in the lever of power. Well done Harith. Looking forward for Sesat…
It's so refreshing to hear Prof Tajuddin's bold and multi-faceted points of view. I share his insights on seeing the bigger picture and be critically aware of the hidden agendas of those playing up controversial issues for their vested interests. I always felt alone among my community when I don't share their overtly racist sentiments nor believe the narrative that Malays/muslims in Tanah Melayu (especially) are under threat by the non-muslims/non-malays. Just like Prof Tajuddin, I also believe that the conduct of our Prophet was far from racism but one which exuded love, understanding, humanity and compassion and which, we should all uphold in our behaviour regardless of faith. For we are all human after all and to be human is first, to be humane to each other. Thank you Prof Tajuddin and Harith Iskandar for this wonderfully insightful podcast. I used to feel alone for having a different worldview from many of my Malay/muslim relatives/friends/ communities but not anymore. Malaysia is a beautiful multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi -religious country. Unity in diversity is our strength. So, let's not let anyone with extreme worldview and with hidden 'selfish political' agenda manipulate and control us. We can do better and be better if we are open-minded and always seeking knowledge and the truth by reading widely and cross-referencing from various sources before forming an opinion or making a judgement, treat each other right, with love, compassion and respect and we will sustain the beauty of a harmonious Malaysia.
I left Malaysia 30yrs ago we didn’t have these social problems I expected it to thrive and progresses to be more harmonious and more inclusive but it has been moving backwards

Jakim has weaponised " halal " certification. They can easily shut a food factory by just accusing it of violating halal processes. When asked for evidence, after several months, there was none. Tens of millions lost just because of hearsays. In the end, non muslim halal factories had to hire malay chairman just to handle this issue.
Great discussion and an enlightening one for Non-Muslims. To know that level-headed people who openly discuss what's obviously wrong with the portrayals of Islam and Muslims by zealots is indeed eye-opening. Definitely needs to be in the mainstream media than just potcasts in UA-cam. Looking forward to watching and listening to more from both. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Well said Prof. If everyone is thinking the way that you are. Malaysia will surely become one of the best and truly multi-cultural countries. Thanks Harith for having this wonderful session. May God bless you both ,,🙏
Love it. Prof is my UTM lecturer. Honestly some of his remark I have reservation but he do has his point. Give you another perspective of understanding religion. Keep up the good work and talk professor.
Yes please 'sesat". Looking forward to that. I have respect for Prof Tajuddin and yourself and people with logic . You can change many to learn from outside the box and not just rely on where we are contained in.
What is the meaning of provocation? Stop abusing it by hiding behind it as cowards . Stop abusing the word provocation like the Gazan being used as human shields by the barbarian Hamas Islamic terrorists organisation. Truth though alien to most abdooos is not the slightest provocation but certainly hurts . One must have brains in the head to understand truth.
Being a non-Muslim I have so much to say about the situation in our multi racial country, but I can not say it loud or in words for fear of being charged under seditious act. I can only pray to GOD for peace to prevail in our nation between misguided Muslims and non Muslims.
Yeah, i try to steer clear away from these sensitive topic purely out of fear of angering our muslim brothers. I dont even dare to voice any opinion on social media eventhough i do have an opinion on it. I just hope people are kinder and goodness prevails.. My worst fear is a full blown ethnic cleansing to every other races happen.. Our country seems to be very good at self destructive behavior
Thanks for your courage to publish this type of content. I’m a Chinese and I know as much that I wasn’t “supposed” to question Malay’s thought. So I always keep it within myself. Good to know what some of you think. I tried questioning ChatGPT on Quran and Bible , it was fun but I do respect the religions. Love this talk. Wish we Malaysians can have more of these quality talk. Humble, deep, genuine, interesting & intelligent conversations. Can’t wait for the episode on sesat. 😊
Thank you to both of you for having this discussions. I have listened to Professor's few videos, he is someone think out of the box not confined in a small tempurung. Every human being on this face of world no matter what are our background, beliefs, religion, etc in order to live peacefully is not to impose our religion, belief onto someone or in a country where multi racial people living. It is a individual path to practice, experience, learn, study, explore the possibility of knowing the truth. I wish more like minded people emerge in Malaysia.
I’m very happy to get to know prof here. Never imagined that Harith & Prof discussion was really intriguing. I’m very pleased that the UA-cam pop up this video to me as suggestion. Great contents & had learnt much from Prof. I have many Malay friends back then & now. But now I can feel intolerance in our society when we face issues of Religion nationwide in social media. I feel that I need to be more careful when approaching & friendly interaction with my fellow citizens if they are Malay, after reading extreme comments from social media. But in person, all the individuals especially Malays were still very friendly when approached where I lived in heavily Malays populated region in Selangor. What is been projecting in social media by those extreme post, statements & comments is still considerably not representing the whole nation’s real voice. We are still not rotten as a whole nation yet many still thinking rationally while living in our multicultural & multi religious nation. Hope politicians stop politicizing all fairly ignorable & forgivable issues into massive issues just to gain profit and to secure their personal interest. We must unite & stand as Malaysians to compete in international arena to shine but not to fight within our own fellow Malaysians and become vulnerable. Stay prudent.
Thank you Professor Dr Mohd Haji Tajuddin Bin Mohd Rasdi for your farsighted & Wisdom, rationale and Compassion for all Malaysian to move forward together happily for Malaysia to move on.....I salute you Sir.
The boycott affected many workers of KK Mart predominantly malays. Am sure many families must have suffered. Always rationalize the consequences of all those directly earning a living from KKM, and the many other industries who are depending on KKM employees to support their business. Eg, the barber, restaurants, retail units and etc etc , the list will go on.

Thank you for this episode, it was insightful. BTW. The preamble of the Trade Descriptions Act mentioned that it should deal with boycotts, but there are no provisions inside of that Act that explicitly mentioned boycott.
Tadi sesat scrolling UA-cam... tiba2 jumpa this video😂. Tqvm for this superb video, Harith! Looking forward to seeing Prof Tajuddin in your show again.
It is because he always biased to your favour. By your name I do not think you are a Muslim, correct me if wrong, so to you he is true Muslim. As simple as this, his perspective of Islam is within your understanding of Islam. So other Muslims way of thinking which doesn't suit to your whims is considered as extremist ? So please join this Tajudin's sect. of Islam.
how do you know if god loves him? That is something that god knows. The people who commonly say things like that are Christians. Anyways, his logic is flawed. by his logic, its not considered rude to put your feet on top of your parents head or dining table or religious scriptures or a flag of a country. The guy also conveniently forgot the hadith about a companion wanting to let Rasullulah (ﷺ) to sleep upstairs because he doesn't want his feet to be higher than the Prophet (ﷺ) head
One the most sensible scientist like Carl Sagan doesn't need to be in politics. He kept teaching science to the public with a philosophical and moral perspective. People who wants to learn will learn. We don't need Prof to be a PM, Prof Tajuddin should just be Prof Tajuddin or at least our own Carl Sagan.
This intellectual intercourse is a must watch by every one. The extremists will be moderated. The ignorant will be educated. The religious seekers will be enlightened. The nation will be liberated. But sadly, we all know deep in our hearts, the damage is beyond repair and the regression is accelerating.
Education is key. The ability to know and think for yourself and not influenced by these politicians that sought to weaponised sensitive issues that would disrupt the harmony and peace of the country. I'm truly enlightened by your point of view. We really need more people like Prof.
Prof Tajuddin protray the Malaysian situation very well. People don't read widely, don't ask intelligent questions, and basic eduation system. Prof shd be seconded to the education panel to be set up to revamp our education system.

Well explained of the current inter racial situation in our country. Salute to the speaker and thanks to Harith for having him on the show. Looking forward to the topic “SESAT”
In Arabic, the root word "k-f-r" has a broader meaning of covering, concealing, or hiding. When applied in Islamic terminology, "kafir" refers to someone who denies or conceals the truth of Islam. So, one could argue that it's used for those who reject or hide the teachings of the Quran, including Muslims who may do so.
Consider this, my friend : A father left many nice drinks in the fridge, told his son to serve to whoever comes to the house as a guest. One of the family friends came and the son did not serve him the drinks. When the father came back, he found out. The son, when questioned, answered thus: 1. The guest rejected the drinks., 2. He refused to serve the drinks because of many personal reasons. You cannot simply called someone KAFIR before you presented to him the truth. If you did that but he rejected, that too depends on what you presented to him. By your interpretation of KAFIR as concealing the truth, then before the nons are put to hell the Muslims who did not preach the truth would go in first. Wallahu A'lam.
@@amyssb1 of course not. It's the duty of those who knows to preach what he knows. All prophets did that. The goal of Islam is to be a Muslim in this world, and in the hereafter it's entirely up to the Creator. But the Muslims now unashamedly called themselves Muslims before they even practiced the teachings. By analogy it's like calling oneself an engineer before he even started to study the courses let alone passing the exams, and with the new found identity he started to differentiate himself as the believer while labelling others as kafir. Let's put it this way, the Quran consists of six thousand odd ayat and it's existed almost one thousand four hundred years. It was meant for the so-called 'akhir zaman' and suitable even for the illiterate bedouins in the arabian desert. So the meanings might be deep but the teachings are meant to be general. For the religion it's entirely up to the devotees to show the meanings of the religion through their practices. Don't get me wrong, I am entirely agree with what you said but just want to put in some of my thoughts. Salaam.
@@HexxaLi-go8xz This verse emphasizes the responsibility of believers to promote righteousness and guide others towards the truth. 1. Surah Al-Imran (3:110): "You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah." 2. Surah An-Nahl (16:125): "Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided." 3. Surah Al-Baqarah (2:256): "There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing." 4. Surah Al-Mumtahanah (60:4): "There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, 'Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone.'" These verses, among others, emphasize the importance of conveying the message of Islam to others with wisdom, kindness, and patience, while also respecting their free will and choices. But there are verses that emphasize that ultimately, it is Allah who decides who will believe and who will not. One such verse is in Surah Al-Qasas (28:56): "Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided." This verse highlights that guidance ultimately comes from Allah, and humans, including the Prophet Muhammad, cannot control whom Allah guides to belief. While we can strive to convey the truth to disbelievers, it is ultimately Allah who decides who will be guided. Our duty to Allah is fulfilled by making the effort to convey the message, but the outcome of guidance rests solely with Him.
Totally in line with my thinking.... refreshing to hear from someone else. There are quite a number of us. We are just not mainstream unfortunately for now. Hopefully that will change fast enough for this country to benefit while I'm still alive.

It was a great discussion! I'm Malaysian Chinese, and I feel that Islam is a profound religion. However, it appears that in Malaysia, politicians often exploit the religion to boost their popularity, and our education system is unfortunately regressing. Despite these challenges, I believe Malaysia has the potential to become an economic powerhouse in Southeast Asia, similar to Saudi Arabia, if we stand united and embrace the modern world.

Sayangnya majoriti melayu tidak seperti beliau. Saya sendiri bukan lah melayu ttapi orang Asli yg memeluk agama islam.

Sadly true. Malaysia needs to urgently remove Islam from the state. Put an end to Islamic institutions and Islam's clerics in affairs of the state.

Thank you, this is enlightening for a non-muslim like me. Prof Tajuddin is both insightful and concise, and spot-on on the topic.

Keep up the good work and talk professor.

Professor Tajudin is a true Muslim, it's no doubt that God loves him & Heavan is reserved for him.
So please join this Tajudin's sect. of Islam.
@@IsmailIbrahim-t3bBut you're biased too. And by saying "this Tajuddin sect" you think you're the terpaling Muslim?
how do you know if god loves him? That is something that god knows. The people who commonly say things like that are Christians.
Anyways, his logic is flawed. by his logic, its not considered rude to put your feet on top of your parents head or dining table or religious scriptures or a flag of a country.
The guy also conveniently forgot the hadith about a companion wanting to let Rasullulah (ﷺ) to sleep upstairs because he doesn't want his feet to be higher than the Prophet (ﷺ) head

Actually it means a farmer - someone who covers a seed.
Consider this, my friend :
A father left many nice drinks in the fridge, told his son to serve to whoever comes to the house as a guest.
One of the family friends came and the son did not serve him the drinks. When the father came back, he found out. The son, when questioned, answered thus:
1. The guest rejected the drinks.,
@@HexxaLi-go8xz can a non muslim which do not know about the Quran hide the truth of the quran
You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah."
2. Surah An-Nahl (16:125): "Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided."
3. Surah Al-Baqarah (2:256): "There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing."
4. Surah Al-Mumtahanah (60:4): "There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, 'Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone.'"
These verses, among others, emphasize the importance of conveying the message of Islam to others with wisdom, kindness, and patience, while also respecting their free will and choices.
But there are verses that emphasize that ultimately, it is Allah who decides who will believe and who will not. One such verse is in
Surah Al-Qasas (28:56): "Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills.
This is an amazing talk! I learned a lot from you guys! To read and read and read and to question is always of the utmost importance! This should be taught to our kids as number 1 rule ( critical thinking)

Alhamdulillah. Tqso much Harith for invinting prof tajuddin for sharing his thought about msian. Selama ni sy mmg follow Prof tajuddin, he is a rare malay muslim and has great wisdom. Sayangnya majoriti melayu tidak seperti beliau. Saya sendiri bukan lah melayu ttapi orang Asli yg memeluk agama islam.
