You are my hero. Not only this amazing tutorial which has hundreds of applications but it's for the 15th anniversary Miku figure. Omg Knowing that you'll be making Strawberry Miku honestly makes me want to make her too since I know there'll be some bomb ass tutorials coming for her
I’m currently working on an Ultimate Madoka cosplay and have been absolutely dreading trying to figure out how to make the open-front hoop skirt I wanted for MONTHS… You have absolutely saved my life, thank you so much for making these videos and sharing your patterns! 💕
I used to watch all your videos out of pure enjoyment of watching cosplayers do cool cosplayer stuff, but now that I'm making Celine's dress from Fire Emblem, I didn't think I'd find myself coming back to watch for educational reasons!! Sarah, you are SO entertaining and good at explaining things
watched this even though i have no intention of making an open front hoop skirt (for now...) but i was blasted by the creative inspiration rays from this vid and immediately left to redraft my current project. it had been missing something and i dont know how but this video bonked me over the head with the solution. thank you captain spaceman
Im literally sitting here looking up "trainskirt petticoat, trainskirt hoop , hoopskirt for train skirt" ans showing nothingm and then- sarah came in clutch 😭😭😭
Hello Sarah!! I wanted to thank you for making these videos, it really inspired me to start a new creative journey! I asked my grandma to learn me how to sow, and she was super happy to help! My mum kind of gifted me her sowing machine (which has been collecting dust haha) and now I'm starting to get kind of used to it! I like to watch your videos, you can see how much work you put into them! And even if they're not tutorials, I still learn a lot from them! Thank you so much!!
yet another amazing and helpful video! it was interesting seeing the trials and tribulations, and how it all came together in the end!! strawberry miku is so so pretty, i'm excited to see how you make the rest of her!!
As someone who’s been wanting to cosplay goddess Madoka For years and was starting to think I’d have to make a frame outta chicken wire, you are a GODSEND
Hey! Just wanted to say I love your channel! Seeing you enjoy yourself making your outfits inspires me to work on mine! This video helped me make my own hoop skirt I had no idea where to even begin with! Thank you for your amazing videos, for all your in-depth explanations, and for your hard work! You're awesome
I really wanted to do this Miku, but I didn't know how to start, thanks so much, your videos are super helpful and the patterns are amazing! I hope I will be able to make her this year, and it will be just thanks to you
A small suggestion for those times when you are really struggling. There are 2 things you can do. I already know you don't like patterns and that's fine, learning to make your own is an amazing skill, but taking a look at the general shapes can cut down some of the guess work. The other is if you ever have the opportunity... reverse engineering things also helps. (You can cheat this by looking up people taking those things apart on youtube) You already have the last option nailed down pat, lol, when in doubt try, try, and try again!
I've wanted to make this Miku for so long but I decided against it 😭 I'm glad to see you making it though. 100% using this video to make my ultimate Madoka cosplay! Thanks!
I think you will have to add as much weight to the bottom (like the pattern weight thing) as the fabric you are putting on top of it in order for it to create a silhouette other than the top full hoop skirt and bum pad are already doing. But honestly even without the back hoops it is cute. It could work it just seems like it could potentially be a lot of weight depending on the fabric. I will be excited to see how it turns out though!
Yeah, totally see what you're saying, the bottom hoops seem a little redundant with how much work the bum pad and short hoops are doing, But, I have already made a change to it while Ive been making the dress thats made them, slightly less redundant, we live and we learn!
@Sarah Spaceman. I wanted to make a hoop skirt for a skirt overlay but I didn't want the boning for the front at all. I wanted a waistband and then the overlay would have the boning. Is that feasible? Thanks for your help, I'm learning a ton on this channel. ❤
QUESTION I think you’ve answered one of my questions about another cosplay I was planning (never ended up doing it bc I’m a broke high school student with no job) BUT I am planning to go to a local con (two of them, one in town and the other in OKC). For me I’m making the 2019 magical Marai Miku and the MM 2019 design of rin for my friend! Rin should be simple enough, but Miku is the scary part. Mainly the over ‘skirt’ which is really just a vest looking thing attached to some weird ass diamond stuff on the sides that attach to the back straps. And how I’d do the skirt part itself, because I want the cosplay to be as accurate to the design as possible. But, the ruffles look massive and I don’t know how I’d get them to stay straight up and keep them stable. And the wig. Should I do a wig like you did yours and completely butcher wigs to make the whole wig or just get a lil Amazon wig and crimp and straighten the hell out of it? Sorry if that was too many questions, my friend doesn’t know anything abt sewing and I don’t know anyone who has any sewing experience lol
I have the measurements on the first page of the pattern, it’s free to download and it’s hosted on my Patreon, just follow the link in the description 😊

Where do we find the Miku 15th Anniversary Edition cosplay pattern
is there a way to find out how much fabric is needed for each skirt? the pattern sizes are my size.
I’m making this right now and was wondering how long bones did you do?
I have the measurements on the first page of the pattern, it’s free to download and it’s hosted on my Patreon, just follow the link in the description 😊
