I wanna mention, as an audience member, during the voting time for the audience choice THE VOTING DIDNT WORK, we found out like halfway through the voting that we needed to update the app so I think a lot of votes were sadly lost :( Im blaming närcon /hj

As a person who was there in person cheering for you really hard at the competition, I cheered SO HECKING HARD when you caught that GOD DAMN FORK!
I did also sing along to the song in the audience and it was amazing to see you perform (since I was only at the con for Friday night and Saturday I missed the chance at meeting you and saying hi.) and it was so cool to see your reaction to NärCon!
And even if you lost I hope the rainy Swedish summer treated you nicely anyway!

As a Swedish person who is very familiar with Närcon, it's very cool to see how people outside of Sweden react to the convention. Närcon Sommar was my second-ever convention and has always been special to me. I wish I could have watched the NCC and seen you in person but I was working at the Karaoke and rarely left C-huset. You inspire me a lot, and I'm glad you had a good time even though you didn't win. Happy late birthday. Never stop being amazing. 🧡

It was my first ever con being there and honestly even if Sarah didnt win she sure won 1st place in my heart because she made my first con experience very magical being able to see her on the stage, it was AWESOME!!
One day, maybe five or ten years from now, I'm gonna stand on the same stage you stood on in my own cosplay at NCC, and you're gonna be invited back as a judge, and I'm gonna turn to you and say "Because of you, I am standing here right now. You are the giant who's shoulders I stood on the most to get this far." I hope to one day thank you in person❤

As a Finnish person, I loved watching you eating Salmiakki >:D it's called salty liqorice in many places and it's basically that but the salt is specifically ammonium chloride which gives it the distinct taste
Even if you didn't win, being there was a sign of your skill, craftsmanship, spirit and dedication. You did FANTASTIC and once again you have made me cry

Aww, I really get the feeling. I myself competed for my very first time on the Thursday (in cosplay novice) and I didn’t even make it to post judging. And it’s okay to be disappointed but I also try to look at it as a learning experience and a ticket to try again next year! Ps: I love your hair too ;)

Not gonna lie, this video made me cry a little. Närcon has been my home con since I was 14, I was a couple years away from my ten year anniversary of going when the pandemic hit and I haven't been able to go since. I hope you had a good time and wanna come back at some point despite not winning and the travel being stressful! Also happy belated birthday! (also the bit at 11:48 was weirdly relatable. I always mix up which one of rooms the thing I wanted was in, I swear they switch the rooms around when ppl aren't watching lol)
as someone who was at Närcon 2023 and watched you perform live, it was absolutely amazing and gave me the chills, and while you might notve won, you will still be remembered by the whole Närcon community and NCC

The way you always manage to convey big feelings in your videos is so wonderful. I totally understood you when you were saying that Finland's cosplay deserved the win (that cape ALONE 😍😱WOWWW) but that you were still disappointed, it's a complex emotion, and you expressed it so clearly. Oh Sarah, I completely teared up when you did your monologue of why you compete despite not being able to win. You absolutely perfectly explained why competitive cosplay exists. We don't necessarily compete to win but to do our best and to meet likeminded cosplayers from all over the world! I saw so many friends compete at NCC that I've met through contests over the years and it brings a tear to my eyes to see people thriving and living their best life, including you!! Your costume shines on stage so much and I love the way it flows through your dancing!

@@uniuniverse4275 Because the USA is a first-time participant at NCC. NCC is a contest between a select group of member nations. Other countries can apply to join, but their first year particiaption is treated as a sort of trial to see if this all works out and so NCC has the rule that the team from one of these new members can't place 1st, 2nd or 3rd when they participate for the first time. The only price Sarah could have won was the audiance choice award, but that one went to someone else.

Finally got the chance to sit down and watch this, and it got me all emotional about Närcon and NCC again! I wish I could have watched your performance live, but both me and my fellow Glue Guns missed the last few performances as we had to get ready for the intermission act. Seeing it now (even without the song) was really awesome, and that fork catch was freaking epic! I'm only sad I didnt have the chance to talk more with you, but I'm so glad we managed to give you a birthday present and that you felt the long, ardous journey was worth the time! Second, 20 mins for judging seems like a dream. I think the longest I've ever had was 7 mins at Twitchcon, and I still spoke like I'd had too much caffeine.
Thirdly, it's so nice to hear that others feel the same way about competing. Win or lose, I love just hanging backstage and talking with other creators. It makes the whole experience worth it.

honestly youre the only channel that makes con vlogs fun? Like I've never actually had the patience to watch through them and likely won't start now, but I feel like I've been with you on your journey (as like an audience of course, as much as I can be without actually knowing you or anything actually related to cosplay or cons). I was there to digitally watch, and so it just makes it all the more worthwhile to see your progress and, well, live my love for cosplay vicariously through you if that doesn't sound too weird. All your contents always been really enjoyable, and I find that I'm genuinely excited to watch you do your thing after having been able to see all the hard work and effort you put into your stuff.
Rooting for you :D (also its so cool to be getting in on the international action. i just really find different communities and countries and people and stuff meeting together and doing things enjoyable. it just adds an extra cool factor, because even if you dont understand languages, everyone can understand emotion and stuff like that. Like how music can reach people even if they might not understand the lyrics, joy is universal to where you dont need to make a comment about it for people to know you might be happy about something. Happiness can also be infectious, and I just find it really cool how people can put aside any differences they might have and just focusing on having a good time, even if they might not actually be able to, say, properly communicate with each other or something, y'know?)
You did amazing and you definitely deserved some sort of prize. We are all proud of you! You inspire me so much to compete in bigger competitions!
