      I guess you do the lunges with your upper body vertical during the eccentric phase. Poor your knees and especially your patellar tendon! Lunges are exercises that must center in the hips, so in the eccentric phase your hips must flex backward in the sagittal plane! Study Anatomy and Biomechanics before giving breath to ignorance!
