Thank you so much! I try to remind myself that I'm just one dude. There's an entire universe of diverse opinions out there and making sure to include those opinions really makes for a much richer experience. Thanks again.
I own the 2015 Victory X-1 and LOVE IT. Mine has a lot of Lloyds up grades to the engine, but overall bike is awesome! Handles great with lots of power.
My V-Star took some tweaking to make it comfortable for me. My backrest took all the pressure off my hands and the highway bars let me stretch out. Seriously now it is as comfortable as my recliner at home. Thanks.
I own a 2015 X-1 and I agree with your view of the seating, but my bike has the standard pull back bars which allows you to sit back into the bike. It almost rides like a chopper. I owned a Streetglide and I felt I had more control at low speeds but like you said the X-1 is a big bike and in a straight line I prefer the ride over the streetglide.
+Rudy Mcclain Thank you Rudy! I truly appreciate your insight. This is extremely valuable as an X-1 owner. I truly don't know why they removed the stock bars on this demo bike...I guess to try and make it look even more bad a$$? It sure is a beautiful machine. Ride safe and thanks again!
Hey Soopabee, Good video. As an owner of a 2013 Victory Cross Roads that I purchased last fall, I can say I understand the trouble with the steering. I test road a Magnum and found it was very hard too steer at low speeds and in the parking lot. I believe this is due to the 21" front wheel. It was almost like you has to push the Magnum over in turns as it just wanted to go straight. The mini apes make it worse and are just for looks. My Cross Roads has an 18" front wheel just like the Cross Country and steers much better. Really love my Victory.
+Tasty Squirrel Burger Awesome to hear! I'm glad it wasn't just me (and my lack of skills). It really felt harder than the Cross Country at slow speeds. And those mini-apes...good lord man, they really were more for looks than being practical. Or maybe they were on there just to appeal to the young guys. Certainly not for me. Thank you so much for sharing. So glad you love your Victory! I've been so impressed with them. Ride safe man.
The bars have been the biggest criticism of the cross bikes. Victory has an optional for different bars and there are a ton of aftermarket bars out there.
I think your review was fair because it was based on your preference and I respect that. The bigger front wheel makes site speed handling a little harder but on the flip side, it makes normal speed handling even better .... so it's a trade off. I own a 2015 X1, a cross country tour and I have owned a regular cross country. these XC bikes are my favorite. All the bikes except for the XCT have wind buffering but that's solved with a good set of lowers and a flip windscreen. of course that adds to the price. while$24.5k is on the higher side, you are paying for a 21" billet wheel and all the parts (fender, calipers etc), a 200 watt stereo, and a tri colored bike. You are getting what you pay for but not everyone values those extras. after riding for 30 years and owning 12 different bikes I can honestly tell you that the X1 is the best bike I have ever owned. BTW that bike you ride didn't have a stock exhaust on it (you mentioned the after market bars but not the pipes). Ride safe brother.
Keith, I'm so sorry. I am SURE that I had responded to you but I noticed that nothing posted...damn UA-cam. Anyway, to summarize what I had previously typed in one word, "Thank you!" Your perspective as a long-time rider and current owner is so much more valuable than my little 30 minute ride on this modified machine. I was blown away by the sound system on this bike and surely, I would have to do some customization to make it feel good for me, my height, and my preferences. I'm really not sure why they had these particular bars on bike...I think it was for the younger crowd. But the bike really was awesome. I just needed a different set up. And thanks for pointing out the pipes! I hadn't realized that they weren't stock. Thanks again Keith. Ride safe!
I did read your first post so no worries - not sure what happened to it. I wanted to add that everyone likes what they like. I would never in a million years own any sport bike, so I would struggle to find something really positive to say about one of them if I reviewed them. Having said that, you were fair in your review and you did find some positives. I have even louder pipes on my X1, a great set of lowers and a flip windscreen to stop all the wind turbulence but so allow clean air flow, and a driver’s backrest. I can ride my bike all day long for days in a row, and I love the capacity to carry something or lock up my gear when I get to my destination.
Magnum and Cross Country are the same bike except for the 21' front wheel and lowered rear end, which I guess could account for the difference in handling. Those also aren't the stock pipes, they are vic tri-ovals.
+Cord Scott Yeah, the more I think about it, that 21" front wheel must certainly played a factor in the low-speed maneuverability...that and my admittedly limited low-speed skills to begin with. And thanks for the info. on the pipes! I didn't realize that they weren't stock...even on the X-1. Thanks again man.
Sadly, I rode Cross Country but my camera died (argh!) so I didn't capture any footage. I did have on a separate microphone so I was able to record some good audio. Still trying to figure out if I'll try and do something with it...
I have never ridden a cruiser. Maybe the slow speed stuff is hampered by the massive front wheel diameter. It certainly looks the business and seat position should be familiar to everyone since it feels like sitting on the throne.
+troyboy986 This was a very different kind of cruiser from your usual ones. I actually really liked that massive front wheel (was that the reason why I had trouble maneuvering at low speeds...hmmm...not sure). Thanks for watching and commenting. Hope all is well!
That thing is tight!!! But yeah way steep price-wise. Interesting that you mention it is has a slight forward lean as it looks like a reclined riding position. Who reads the magazines anymore when dropping a deuce?!?!?! Smartphones have invaded that space. LOL! Enjoy your vids as always!
The X1 I rode looked like that exact bike you rode. I loved the bars on it myself. I agree that it was not my favorite of their bikes at all. I liked the Cross Country the best. I thought that big wheel looked weird and felt weird. Also the biggest complaint I had about all the Victory bikes I rode was buffeting to an extreme above like 60 MPH. It felt like my head was in a blender. I can see in you video you had the issue on the HWY too but you didn't ever mention it. Also did you notice how the bikes feel super docile unless you twist the throttle all the way past comfortable? The direct drive transmission sounds like loose marbles all the time. The gear selector is super slow to show what gear you're in and I forget what gear shows up as a symbol instead of a number. The bikes are cool but have some quirks in my opinion that no one seems to ever mention.
+NewZona Rides Awesome points man! I think that the big front wheel contributed to the lack of maneuverability at low speeds. I actually had a much easier time at low speeds on the Cross Country. And I'm so glad that you mentioned the air buffeting! I actually did notice it too...but interestingly enough, I noticed it being the worst on the Cross Country. I kept getting a blast of wind right at the top of my helmet. It was horrible man. Unfortunately, I forgot to turn my camera on for the Cross Country ride...damn it (I'm still going to edit the audio for a podcast though). The one bike that had NO buffeting issues for me was the Vision Tour. Wow. I'll be working on that video soon...I was VERY impressed with that machine personally. Now as far as lacking throttle response, I didn't notice what you describe for most of the bikes...there were certainly some (for example the Gunner) that felt more responsive. But I absolutely agree with you about the gear indicator...it is funky. I mentioned it in one of my earlier Victory demo ride videos (can't remember which). But I will say that I got used to it the more I rode the bike. But yup, the gear sure disappears as soon as you pull in the clutch (Polaris fixed this on the Indians! I forgot to mention that on my Indian Scout video). Great points man. Thanks for sharing your perspective brother. I truly appreciate it.
LMFAO! Now, I've seen the Soopa-toilet-Seating! This bike does seem like a pretty big bike. Not sure I'm into it but enjoyed the review...well-done! And, uh, I will never view toilet seating the same ever again, Bee! lol
Bikes & Drones Oh! Now I get it. I spent 4.5 hours on that one minute clip at the end of the Halloween Special. Yup. Four and a half hours. I'm sick, I know. I'm slow, I know. I suck at editing, I KNOW. LOL! Good lord man. Here it is if anyone is interested. ua-cam.com/video/8KypY09QHLo/v-deo.html
Oh dude! Did you really have to do "that" shot? I'm not sure I'll ever recover. Haha. Is it just me or were you borderline bored while riding that bike? You really didn't seem impressed at all. I have to agree with you about your doubts when it comes to owning a bagger, I'm just not a bagger rider myself. Great stuff as always bud.
+Rob Ash Ha! After I got done editing it, it seemed like it needed just a little more. A little something. Why not a crap shot! LOL And I really just trying to get comfortable on the bike. The seating position combined with the funky bars just make for a real awkward ride. In my opinion anyway. Thanks as always brother Ash. Sorry for scarring you! :-)
Always thought the sound systems were weird, it's like you want everyone else to hear it. What is a bagger? Hmm...the internet doesn't have a clear answer. And he does the toilet shot! Ride a dual sport, people actually change positions without moving. Good riders, ones way better than I. Though tourers tend to be less maneuverable because it makes them require less effort to control on long rides over straight roads. My bike constantly requires my attention, since a minor movement at high speeds will send me into the next lane. With a tourer, maybe the small movement from stretching or waving would be less likely to result in drifting off course. That one seemed quick....weird. 200 watts!?!?! My bike only makes 200 watts, and that's crazy high for a bike it's size. This thing must have the alternator of a small car welded to it. Let the reviews continue, come over and you can review the TTR125 that's sitting in my backyard. You'll get to see how weird a slip clutch is. Actually...it's like riding a scooter in that you don't need to pull in the clutch to stop, but like a motorcycle in that you still need to shift.
+Adventures in Real Life Here ya go! "In the past a bagger was defined as any motorcycle outfitted with at least a set of saddlebags, but more commonly the term referred to a cruiser with hard bags, a top case and a fairing with a windshield" -Motorcycle USA. holy crap XD ive just taken myself to the nutt farm (mental hospital) after seeing the shit shot oh god..... lol but $24499.00 no thanks ill stick with getting a car for that much it has too many gadgets and stuff not for me :( but that front wheel ;) yeah boy thats what im talking about

I like the fact that you are not arrogant in your review and understand that we are all different.
Thank you so much! I try to remind myself that I'm just one dude. There's an entire universe of diverse opinions out there and making sure to include those opinions really makes for a much richer experience. Thanks again.

That is awesome! Can't beat the sound system on this machine!
Nice ride along. Thanks for sharing it. Add a backrest and it should be an all day rider.
+sam smith Hmmm...maybe. I think I'd be in pain after a day on this thing. It really was not comfortable for me.

+Chris Caliente Thanks brother!
I'm a Harley Fanboy but i love Victory baggers - i think Victory baggers are the most sexiest baggers i have ever seen.
I could agree more. I have to admit, this Magnum X-1 was one sexy beast! And the sound system...wow!
The bars have been the biggest criticism of the cross bikes. Victory has an optional for different bars and there are a ton of aftermarket bars out there.
I think if I found the right set of bars for me, this really would be an awesome ride! Especially that thumping sound...wow!
I think your review was fair because it was based on your preference and I respect that. Maneuverability probably has to do with the 21" front wheel in comparison to the the Cross Country with the 18" front wheel.
+James Usher Yes, I believe that you're right!
I like the way you do reviews. This isn't a bike I would ever consider owning but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

Some things cant be unseen ;>( You have the bike review formula done pat, very informative. How long did you spend on the sound?
+Bikes & Drones Ha! Sorry for that man. And do you mean how long did I spend on tweaking the sound of the video or savoring the sounds of the bike?
tweaking and twerking the audio quality. You mentioned you spent hours on 1 minute on a video. Which video was that?

+Arill0 That's what I'm saying. $24K? Wow, what too steep for me man! And hey, we all gotta take a dump sometime!
Great looking machine, but not for me I'm afraid, good review bro, RSMF.
