Did Ryan F9 Quit UA-cam?
Why are they making bicycle videos now?

I heard Ryan died in 2018 and FortNine secretly replaced him with an AI-generated amalgamation of Quentin Tarantino and Jack Gleeson. ~RF9
Legend has it that he had to go for surgery but they had to wait for all the bike parts to come in.
Must have been a deadly diarrhea...
Ah, that explains it!
lol.
No (successful) comedy writers here.
Fortnine is a company, and Ryan is just the guy who makes videos for said company. The cheese video came out in april 1. so you can guess why it's so different.
Ryan is the founder
@danr6716 Ryan is not the founder. The company was founded when he was still in high-school. Amin and Karim Sawaf are the founders of what was originally called Canada's Motorcycle and is now known as Fortnine. Ryan is a paid employee that answered a want ad on Craigslist.
@@Kevimoto good to know.

F9 has had MTB and Ebike content for a while now, looks like you've not been watching as much F9 as you think you have
Yup. Watched this video like, what is this guy talking about?
Ok! and?
Doesn't explain what happened! Then why to put an irrelevant comment that doesn't answer the question?
I just discovered F9 channel, so I'm also looking to understand what happened.

Exactly... using F9 as a click lure
With all the talent available, Ryan could even run for the top job in Canada .

From your lips to God’s ears….

I must admit F9 are some of the most sophisticated channels, the editing and language is very well done, I even got my 85 year old dad to watch some of them !!!!
The cheese thing got me to until I saw it was posted on April fools day..
I want the Cheese that tastes most like AV Gas I'll have to go watch that one😁🤣🤣🤣 The Humor on that Channel is what has made it popular

the cheese video was posted on ... Apr 1, 2023
mtb is a recent addition to the fortnine products carried so they are starting to bring that info to the company channel. (mtb is a massivily quick growing sector so its worth it to "advertise".)
the fortnine channel has capitalized on their popularity to bring in a bigger team, Introduction of 43, and later Dod. They also are putting out videos multiple times a month where previously it was maybe once a month.
MTB Does not seem to be hurting them? weekly vids are easier when you have multiple writers and hosts?
Fort nine is Canada’s revzilla. I buy most of my gear from them. They have awesome customer service and selection. Ryan is awesome and miss his presence. Especially as a fellow bmw 800gs Adventure owner. He was key to their marketing presence.
YOU ARE WRONG MY FRIEND..... there are THREE of them!
You've obviously not seen all the FortNine videos and shorts from the last 2 months.
Anyway, whatever, it doesn't matter how stupid, eccentric, crazy or likeable these "imposters" may be, Ryan with his wit and iconic way of presenting, will be dearly missed, should he ever give up F9... but if he does go, then I reckon i'm gone as well !!
But look at the number of Subs, Views and Likes the channel has amounted over the years..., I think they have done well, very well and can afford to finish now and move to pastures new, if that should be the plan. So let's all grab a brew, sit back and wait to see how this all pans out before we all start hammering into our keboards, making our finger tips sore..., (like i've just done)!
What do I think? I think I want to change the subject like the bicycle salesman did to sheriff who was trying to raise a reluctant posse in Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
The CA gov banned motorcycles and being from Canada and not a trucker, everyone is too nice to stand up for themselves and do a damm thing about it... I want Motorcycles on on F9... No MTB, cheesey Socialist, euro dog 💩. This is coming from a motorcyclist who is a cyclist from the UK, not part of the EU, Thank the lord. God Save the Queen, not the King... God bless my brothers & Sisters in The USA 👍👍👍👍
Brexit - smartest move the UK has made since Dunkirk - God Save the Queen, not the King!
imo - they can make videos about anything they like, as long as Ryan's volume of motorcycle content doesn't drop.
I am cool with both existing. If anyone else did something similar however, the channel would disappear - ask me how I know. :)
I second that emotion!
If true, this is a sad day indeed for those of us interested in motorcycle riding technique and engineering....his video on crossplane engine design is an excellent example...tough shoes to fill
ua-cam.com/video/w0PBlc1b0vo/v-deo.htmlsi=B-_kVR_hkyBmGzON
They are selling gear for many other sports, dirt bike, snowmobile... It's smart to try to sell bicycle stuff also.
Ryan still works at F9, he's been there forever and I think he's one of the co-founder of the company back when it was called Motorcycle Parts Canada.
Well, the cheese episode was a hilarious April fools Day prank. That's the only concrete answer I can give you
If you want to go back even further bring up the Canada’s Motorcycle UA-cam Cannel and check out a young Ryan. I believe his start with Canada’s motorcycle was writing product descriptions. He got a cool new job when they rebranded to FortNine.
The video aged like fine milk.
Actually, no it didn't, because Ryan was magically resurrected 5 seconds after it was uploaded, hallelujah, so now we can all enjoy our cornflakes.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened
To assume that motorcycle guys like bicycles is a stretch, but to assume we like CHEESE? They've just gone too far!
The peasants are revolting, they are gonna burn everything to the ground, melting the cheese. Somebody needs to grab Ryan before the destruction begins - are you in?
@@MotoGiant Hell yeah!! I'm in...let's do this!
maybe Ryan just wasn't compensated well for his infamous notoriety bringing so much traffic to the Fortnine store and has left fortnine....
This is all about selling bicycle gear as well. I believe that Ryan is getting this stuff mandated and the outcome is actually good and worthwhile. They do have different hosts to present other stuff but in all fairness Ryan can't be replaced because they can't put the science out of Ryan and put it in somebody else.
Bicycle gear and snowmobile gear too.
1:20 i lost it here lol
I was slightly surprised with the bicyle episode, but I watched it because I enjoy the creators' humour. It wasn't the funniest video, but it did make me consider getting a bike for exercise. The snow has since started melting and I've come to my senses.
Having spent a decade in the MTB world, the health considerations are really upside down and I find that I would rather rely on fatter tires to keep me from crashing in the dirt. I have a lot of friends that have given up many sports, but I have zero friends still riding MTB - I think it is a statistical decision more than anything else?
Out of sight, out of mind...i had forgotten all about him. Loved his vids & yes, very im formative & helped understand the dynamics of what he featured each vid. My " Go to" guy when thinking of making a purchase.
2:40 had me dead, the "wTf?!?" hahahaha
In addition to the mountain bike videos, FortNine has also put out some "how-to" videos, which I also enjoy watching. I'm glad they're diversifying.
there will never be enough how-to's - that is how I learn
Ryan is awesome. I hope they bring him back.
Don’t worry guys, Ryan’s and FortNine are regrouping - rigorous self-inventory - taking me-time after being embarrassed and humbled by D4A in that whole 270 degree Yamaha vs KTM botched video, all cocky and confident until D4A kindly schooled them. I’m sure they will get their way back to being able to talk about things with motors again, but the humble pie’s gotta pass the bowels first. 😂
wow, never heard of D4A till your comment - watching that video now - THANKS!
D4A had some valid points, others he simply was speculating such as the cost of manufacture. He had not talked to the manufacturers and had given no indication as to any source for his speculation, that includes his speculation on KTM's reasons.
I wouldn't be too worried about Driving 4 Answers, as he's full of shit half the time anyway.
"Socialist Europe"?! Most governments in power are centre right or proper right wing, pushing even further to extreme right in some countries. You clearly don't know much about European politics.
ONE of us certainly does not? Try naming three "right-wing regimes" in Europe? That should be easy enough?
@@MotoGiant Italy, Netherlands, Hungary... You really are an ignorant American...
Hungary, Poland, Italy. Right wing enough for liberal european people.

Just finished my break in period on the same bike. Bouta let it rip tomorrow after seeing this 😂
Ebikes are great in town for up to 20 miles round-trip, depending on traffic engineering. Motorcycles best outside those parameters. Just bought a trail motorcycle for Oregons Coastal Range mountain forest roads.
The video Ryan hosted about Ducati was the best.
F9 transitioning from "old" Top Gear which was about car reviews, to "new" Jeremy Clarkson Top Gear which was about car reviews, fun, cool shit, mates and adventure.
The real question is what happened to #'s 1-42 and how has 45 avoided a similar fate for so long?
Brother i am so glad to come across this video i was wondering the same thing as i watched the new dude on fortnine...thanks for the homework Bro
It was good while it lasted. I always enjoyed Ryan and his creative and interesting presentations.
had the same experience as you 3 months ago, I think ryan is still on the channel just breaks, hes integral
f9 ryan was at his best when its not even a review(tho some of them were fantastic), just ryan talking technical stuff and educating people.
I noticed about 3 months ago around the surron ultra bee video, that guests started playing a big role and it got less technical and more markety, id be unhappy with direction if I was ryan as he really had a niche and audience. .
Yeah buddy...that's some 100% factual information right there. Without a doubt, Ryan is THE man!
Hey Hey Hey !!
You can talk what ever you want about F9's bike videos, but no one is allowed to insult the Cheese Review.
Ryan is doing fishing videos and physics tutoring now XD
Thank you for the video, well done. I've been watching Ryan on FortNine since he started and Ryan is absolutely brilliant. New subscriber, I hope you do some on the road cooking and show some great rides. I live in Washington but will be moving to Idaho soon which is close, I plan to take a lot of rides into Eastern Washington, Idaho, Montana and other states close to it. I'll incorporate some hiking and fishing into my trips and get out into the middle of nowhere, away from insane Seattle, I'm pretty much done with Seattle, it's turned into a real crap hole. Be watching your videos, bring em on. Peace.
glad to have you. should be out west again this summer
I actually saw Ryan around my nieghborhood he was riding a bicyle after exiting a cafe shop and stopped to smell a flower
They probably got into Mountain bike stuff as its become HUGE during covid , ebikes are actually worth using now and a lot of brands like alpinestars, Dainese , Spada, Fox , troy lee designs all do a variety of products for motorbikes and mountain bikes amongst other stuff. It's quiet a nice breathe of fresh air to keep things unique and evolving. There's only so many years a specific formula can garner the same viewership and interactions
Ryan is still there.
Good episode; thanks. F9 is great, and despite being used to (and expecting) Ryan, the new guy seems ok for the few videos I’ve seen with him.
I have no problem with new faces, but like many of the comments below, I came to F9 for motorcycles - not bicycles, snowmobiles or fashion. I hope they will survive the loss of viewers, but after making small changes in my own channel format (and suffering for it) in the past, I would suggest they start a separate bicycle channel - I do hope to see them continue with the moto content.
The Humor on that Channel is what has made it popular, I want the Cheese that tastes most like AV Gas I'll have to go watch that one😁🤣🤣🤣
Do you think soft panniers would have helped?
maybe - good boots for sure
The cheese episode came out on april fools day. I watched it the whole way through before i realized what i was watching. RF9 is such an amazing content creator that he can do an episode on anything and make it worth watching
I am sure he would do well presenting anything, at least they brought in other guys to disappoint the audience with bicycles? He has built quite the following in the motorcycle world.
@@MotoGiant The kind of videos Ryan and F9 does sometimes takes months to film and edit. Ryan said in one of the older video that they were bringing on more host to do different content, to add more videos. So it's not less of anything, they are just doing more stuff. The motorcycle content is still there.
I love F9. I ride MTB and motorcycles. Anything with 2 wheels is good in my book. I would also wager that there is a lot of riders who love roosting down some singletrack just as much as they love taking in some twisties.
I see absololutely no issue with them covering whatever they want. The MTB content is equally as valid as the motorcycle content...just dont start covering lycra focused road cycling stuff...that would definately make my head explode.
Canadians. Who knows, who cares?
Who ever true to do a FortNine video will have to have the dry, super educated, mildly demented, Benny Hill humor attitude Ryan has.
There are reasons certain channels flourish, one of the main reasons is a good host that can relate to all sorts of people.
If you don’t know Fortnine, you may not know motorcycles. ❤
I think the dairy industry paid Ryan a handsome sum to push their carcinogenic product.
Cheese episode = April Fools Day video, took me a minute to realize that.
I believe the cheese videos was a test - a successful test - to prove the can STILL get 1/2 million views on ANY video?
I used to love watching F9 vids but a lil while back they became a little bit too productiony. They lost that rawness in favour of cinema.
Lets get back to shooting helmets with BB guns and sanding jeans. Minus the chalk, lets get a white board. 🤣
2:36
Buyouts or expansion. Same thing that ruined moto trek, which caused Brett to no longer be in the scene.
Food for thought, cheese?
I like F9 vids, they are nearly as good as yours mate!
thanks brother !!
Ryan is the backbone. His witty and demeanor is what makes FortNine. The new host guy is meh at best
One of the last and most recent of Ryan’s videos I watched was specifically about how riding with all the PPT gear is useless and he goes into depth on his statement, acknowledging that protection is necessary but and this is where things shifted::: the standards, limitations of various pads, protection levels are determined by the manufacturing sector despite Governmment/State regulations and standardized testing along with “ the facade “ that comes as a consequence and or result of the manufacturing industry striving to make the big $$$$ vs the actual amount of of protection that Level 1/Level 2 provides. He goes into the science of it all and as click baited as the title of the video initially looked….. Ryan had one hell of a point. *** This could definitely have caused several major ripples with his employment, employer, employer’s various gear sponsors- when you tell the truth, show and back up your own claims and place a dark cloud over the sources of PPT gear… They don’t care for that very much.
Not politically correct at all.
Ryan has been trending out of the FortNine content for months. The new guy is good but I miss Ryan. The cheese video was an anomaly but the mountain biking content seems to be part of the New FortNine Order. I liked mountain biking when I was younger but I wish they'd spin that off into a new channel.
2 million followers has some weight that cannot be denied - probably has more to do with margins than anything else, but 2m users will justify a pretty big budget for whatever they choose to do. I think the bike videos get 1/2 million views?
Ryan isn't going anywhere. I just spoke with him last Sunday.
@@Kevimoto - Ryan recently released a video with some motorcycle gear recommendations. It looks like the channel is broadening, with more people making content, and a broader range of content.
@@Liberty4Ever exactly. They've expanded into mountain bike, snowmobile and shortly, marine gear.
Ryan isn't going anywhere. He even said in an older video that they are bringing on more host. The kind of content they do takes an immense amount of time (some take months of filming and editing), having more hosts, allows them to bring more videos. It's not less of Ryan, it's just more F9 content, so if a subject isn't to your liking don't watch it.
This video seems to be a little on the clickbait side. I like F9 don’t get me wrong and as a Canadian I shop there a lot however calling their videos “no bs” and “science based” is a stretch. Over the last couple years the no BS reviews I watched them for gave way to manufactured controversies for clickbait and pseudo science observations. Stuff like air vests and MIPS in helmets seem like interesting safety advancements at a glance but there is no real data that these reduce injury or fatalities in motorcycle accidents, but they do drive up costs on motorcycle gear and justify marketing departments. Oh and help F9 sell stuff. It’s well produced but have your pinch of salt on standby.
@trailtrashgarage - legit! I guess when it comes to "science" that world has turned into hype and opinion too, as journals have devolved into corruption like other media. But comparatively, their content has pulled more reality into UA-cam than most of the other channels out there that rely on feeling. I just hope they continue to focus on quality videos rather than sales numbers?
Hope we’ll get some real answers.
I stumbled on to the channel with the video on the history and woes of HD. Brilliant.
And I too have noticed the diminished presents of Ryan, who, as far as I am concerned, IS the F9 channel. The new guys seem to be interlopers on sacred ground.
For me, no Ryan, no channel. More bicycles, no channel.
Cheese is different. But only once a year in April.
A ‘be respectful’ message came up so I won’t comment after all 😂
awww, just be respectful?
You are correct. It has changed. But, is the spirit of the show still there? Is it cerebral and entertaining? Edgy and disruptive? If you like it, keep watching. I personally will give it a chance. Maybe dust off the bicycle and burn some fat. Y’all have a good day!
Ryan has said it that they are a retailer. They are basically the Canadian Revzilla. Even the bikes Ryan says are his are really company bikes, like the BMW, he’s pretty open about the situation. I don’t think he’s going anywhere and if he did he’d probably pop up somewhere else almost immediately
The cheese video was a joke my friend. They still have good videos. F9 sells mountain bikes too. They are diversifying.
I bought a tw because of Ryan
F9 is guilty for crimes against KLR650's ... but arent we all?😅
first against the wall
Ryan F9 is the face of FortNine. I know he introduced another guy a while back and the new guy is ok but it's still better whe. Ryan is back. If Ryan F9 is not going to be on the channel, then I do. bt I'll be watching as much. It's like when MotorTek got rid of Brett Tkacs, it went downhill.
I could not agree more.
My thinking is he got caught with that whole, what’s it’s noodle…physics?? Thing. Trying to understand the world. What a waste of brain matter. Motorcycles F9. Please Lord help him in his time of need.
If indeed Ryan is just an employee than he needs to move on and do his own thing. For the good of us all.
A bit click baited but yeah as other commenters have expressed, it’s all within reason. Good to expand viewership. I saw the Cheese episode day of and was confused until I realized the date.
If you check out the store you'll see they also sell bicycle parts and accessories = bike videos
I don't know if ryan went to cfmoto's global launch in tge Philippines, but yeah fortnine among others was invited there last week.
I agree with you, it is weird and I had noticed it too. Fortnine used to be one of my favorite motorcycle channels, possibly only secondary to Yammie Noob (granted, they’re totally different in how they do things). Disappointed to see the change and probably won’t be watching their content anymore if it’s going to be radically different. I’m certainly not interested in bicycles.
still holding hope here?
Very interesting topic, I also used to watch a lot of these videos and was surprised how unbiased and straight Forward they were. I've even bought a few things from Fort nine. I'm betting they are trying to get a piece of the cycling market up here since it seems to have exploded at least in the GTA. Government has been spending lots on bike lanes and I blow by groups of spandex wearing road cyclists on concession roads steady year round. I'm sure mountain biking is equally as lucrative a market.
Crazy that peddle power can cost as much as gas powered?
@@MotoGiant you pay for the engineering, not necessarily the material value. What better way to impress your rich buddies and look down your nose than to buy the best of the best.
@@Dean.F sure, but you still have to peddle?? 😆
@@MotoGiant I'd be interested to see a study on the carbon footprint (I'm always hearing about) of riding a bike vs riding a motorcycle. Considering the only thing more expensive than fuel up here is food... The fuel for a bicycle. My 35 minute motorcycle ride to work would probably be 4 hours or more on a bicycle too.
@@MotoGiant I worked in bike shops my entire life and the onset of E-bikes suddenly created some overlap within companies: KTM, GasGas, and other companies started Ebike departments. Yamaha is one of the top 4 mfg of overly complicated ebike motors. I'm not sure if there is much overlap within customers, but the moto brands seem to have a reason to produce ebike lines, and I've seen motorcycle retailers start to stock ebikes on the floor. Oh, and mtn bikes are stupidly expensive because there is a materialistic status derived from upgrading every part of the bike to expensive CNC
aluminum and carbon bits in the name of bling and saving 10 grams. Many manufacturers even stopped making aluminum models because their super expensive carbon bikes sell better. Many riders might vomit at the thought of having affordable stamped steel parts on their bike. 😁
I like your tiger 1050. I have the same one.
Sacrilegiuos! How dare Ryan doing anything else beside riding Motorcycles? I even heard, he is now enjoying vegan meals from time to time....
*GULP* vegan? No, as far as I have seen, other dudes are doing the bike stuff - he might be smart enough to stay clear of that hole?
FortNine presented good information, but I stopped watching it years ago because the writers producing scripts for the smartass kid were trying way to hard to be clever. It put me off. If it has gone away, that's OK with me.
that smartass kid could be a smart ass kid because he was a SMART ass kid...did you ever google his awards and colegiate accolades?
U tube has a fort nine video with Ryan on from a month ago, not sure why he disappeared for a bit though.
Did you ever get to the bottom of why he disappeared?.was it aliens or something more sinister...ohhhhhhh🤣.
Cheese video. I’m sure jokes are funnier when you don’t have to explain them 🙄 April fools 😉
I was hoping the bicycle videos were a joke too?
Man you havent really been paying attention to what Fortnine really is...😂
Not enough of these people do their videos for the sake of love of the ride ad the bikes.
No more like that please! That was rubbish. Stir your hand around all the stuff you did before, actually, take a year off and go play, we'll watch all the old stuff again. Cheerio!
I quit watching, have no interest in it anymore since new host
Clueless gratuitous poking at Canada. First and last video I watch on this channel.
awww? Not poking at Canadians, just your clueless government - surely you are not gonna try to defend it?
I don't see bicycle content as odd. I think they are simply expanding the Audience since they are a motorcycle store at heart, and you will see motorcycle store sell bicycles it's coming closer to what a youtube channel based on a retail store is.
oh sure, just disappointing - next thing you know they will be hocking skateboards? I would be just as disappointed if they went back to doing nothing but reviews - any idiot can do those?
Sooo...if a bicycle channel did a review of the new Goldwing, that would fit?
They sell snowmobile gear too.
You need to see the 2023 ABR video.
Those canuks are having a tough time up there.
Ryan always made good quality content with his motorbike reviews 👌 without question. But i think youtube has demonitorized the chanel 😮 and the cost of production can no longer be justified . Hope he comes back though.
It's good they have a seperate Host for Bicycle related things, also understandable that they want to expend it the market, It's a company and selling more things is better for then
And as long it's on 2 Wheels it's more fun then 4. (Am dutch, politics aside, cheese is good in moderation)
Ryan rode his SilverWing to Uranus and is back talking about the elephant in his pants/room
Maybe F9 is trying to push there bike line more to are trying to build a online presence with a new guy? Keep us updated!
Ryans is stuck in what is called the " Linus effect" ...... Linus Tech Tips .... ( Canada's largest you tuber 15.6 MILL was started out of a tech stores back room where he reviewed stuff.
soon he got so big , he wanted to change it up a bit but the "owner " thought he should stick to his floor job as a sales person. Sooooo he bought the rights to the name for the UA-cam channel from his boss for A DOLLAR ! and went off to start again. And that is where Ryan is at. BUT F9 owns the youtube channel ,,, And at 1.9 mill subs Ryan cant buy him out.
If there was a very large clue he is leaving F9 , then it was the move to BC's warmer weather. BUT he cant make a post on F9 to say he's forming his own channel.
So the question is ? How does he leave ? and take a million subs with him. Or is it happing already with a new host. ? hmmmmm Stay tuned kids!
Maybe he will leave by making misinformation videos about how protective armor doesn't work.
I'm sure its a way of diversifying content and hopefully increasing revenue, I'm sure there is a bean counter making Ryan justify the existence of the channel, they have also started adding sponsorships which I dislike. Unfortunately when you give honest reviews the big companies stop including you inthe review circuit so that part of the channel is hard to access in a timely manner as you need to buy/hire the vehicle as opposed to being loaned one.
How could you supposedly be a fan and not know it's a corporate sponsored channel?
Not sure how long YOU have been watching, but I remember searching channel info when I first started watching many years ago, and they had NOTHING referring to a website, retailer, or anything else? AND, I am not alone in my ignorance?
