I can't believe this series is less than 4 hours long. It feels much more longer and bigger in general. Truly majestic, like a crack rock the size of a fist.
Believe it or not, But the entire series of the Simpsons is only 104 hours total! ...I'd suggest not believing because it is a lie, But still believe it or not!
I remember watching this when I was younger and almost all of the jokes flew over my head. It truly deserves so much more appreciation now that I can understand the jokes.
I saw the first 4 seasons when I was just 13 years old and season 5 was still being made. I should not found this series at a young age and now coming back to it it's just as funny as I remembered lmfao!
If I'm being honest, just seeing sonic and tails swearing made me laugh as a little kid, but I understood some of the more mature jokes when I was younger so I wasn't completely left in the dark.
Back in the day when I myself felt lost and was looking for work I stumbled upon this gem. Never in my life was my soul so put at ease. Not feeling alone in regards to finding a purpose has been one of the best feelings I've ever experienced. Whenever I'm at this crossroad again this endless crossroad of looking for new beginnings, I always come back here to this series. No kidding man. My family has been referring to me as a "job hopper" and this series inspires me to not give up on looking for some sort of occupation that isn't a totally awful fit. Like as sarcastic and cynical as this series is, it really captures the feeling of not feeling any level of fittingness in all types of work, but giving all of them a meaningful shot
One of the best web series ever made. Seriously underrated. (Edit for those who got angry at me for saying this for some reason): To add context to my comment here, this series when it was released. It was released in like 2010 by a side channel of the defunct channel Machinima, and the viewership from what I remember was never extremely high despite the quality of the shows animation for a UA-cam show at the time (Some episodes would struggle to hit 100K again, from what I remember but I could be wrong, but I always felt the numbers were low), this was due in part to how Machinima ran it's channel and it's contributors (The Machinima channel is a rabbit hole in of itself for bad ethics toward content creators). There was also a long period of time, where when the only way you could really watch this show was from re-uploads. And then a really bizarre twist when RoosterTeeth picked up the show for like one season after a pretty long time of inactivity which was the last season to air. I imagine this had something to do with contractual obligations (And why the show was switched to Hedgehog for Hire as it's title) that LowBrow couldn't upload this series sooner, and why the Machinima logo can still be seen in some episodes, because they are the only versions that basically survived all of this. It's just my opinion and this is all speculation, but that's why I think it's under-rated. The viewership it's getting now is what it deserved over 10 years ago and never received, even after all the BS the show and LowBrow had to go through.
Y'know, everyone calls Sonic an asshole in this, but throughout the whole series he still genuinely cares about his friends. Like Eggman, Tails, and Mario, have all screwed him over at least twice but he doesn't hold any grudge past that specific season (besides Tails in season 4)

The quality on these is so on point that this could even be a series on a paid streaming server, easily one of the best fan made projects to ever exist
So much top-shelf dialogue and delivery. The stutters, the inflection, the creative portmanteaus of filthy slang - unmatched. This series is genuinely hilarious and bursting with nostalgic references filtered through a mature lens, which culminates perfectly as a testament to the late greats and modern, crude pop-culture critique a la Family Guy. These dudes clearly know how to have a good time, and seem like they’d just be an absolute blast to hang out with. You can tell just how important and impactful the “Golden Age” of gaming was to so many of us through these skits. A monumental ‘thank you’ for this critical piece of satirical comedy that serves as an account of how one of the most influential video game icons rose to, and fell from prominence; an experience those of us who grew up when titles like these were at the forefront will have burned into our psyches for life.
I personally think (first time (bing) watching this series) that the characters didn't get enough personalities or character to them. For example, Kirby, mother brain, sonic (like literally just be a ass and murder), Eggman, etc. The characters were bland, but they had repetitive themes that made the episode unexciting for me. There was potential for a majority of characters to make some episodes go more indebt just the same theme for each one. When the characters felt bored or meaningless, I did, too. I don't experience humor very well, so the jokes didn't really make me laugh. I love Kirby, zelda, and sonic but it was dissapointing with how lame the characters tended to be. What made the characters themselves special, hardly showed up in the episodes besides as a sex joke or to mock/make fun of character design.
This clearly isn't meant for you, that's all. If you're not relating to the humor and expecting each character to be accurately represented (which they are - Kirby sucks stuff, Sonic goes fast and Link knows how to get around) like they are in their original video games (they couldn't even speak in their original releases, so I don't know where you're getting this idea of "character" from) then you're probably just too young to "get it" anyway. For those who understand *all* the references, including those outside of video games, this is peak comedy.@@bingolinging

If I'm being honest, just seeing sonic and tails swearing made me laugh as a little kid, but I understood some of the more mature jokes when I was younger so I wasn't completely left in the dark.

How long was this series around
Back in the day when I myself felt lost and was looking for work I stumbled upon this gem. Never in my life was my soul so put at ease. Not feeling alone in regards to finding a purpose has been one of the best feelings I've ever experienced. Whenever I'm at this crossroad again this endless crossroad of looking for new beginnings, I always come back here to this series. Thank you so much Lowbrow Studios just wanted to say you help a big boring bloke out in rough times. Keep the dream alive folks!

No kidding man. My family has been referring to me as a "job hopper" and this series inspires me to not give up on looking for some sort of occupation that isn't a totally awful fit. Like as sarcastic and cynical as this series is, it really captures the feeling of not feeling any level of fittingness in all types of work, but giving all of them a meaningful shot

To add context to my comment here, this series when it was released. It was released in like 2010 by a side channel of the defunct channel Machinima, and the viewership from what I remember was never extremely high despite the quality of the shows animation for a UA-cam show at the time (Some episodes would struggle to hit 100K again, from what I remember but I could be wrong, but I always felt the numbers were low), this was due in part to how Machinima ran it's channel and it's contributors (The Machinima channel is a rabbit hole in of itself for bad ethics toward content creators). There was also a long period of time, where when the only way you could really watch this show was from re-uploads. And then a really bizarre twist when RoosterTeeth picked up the show for like one season after a pretty long time of inactivity which was the last season to air. I imagine this had something to do with contractual obligations (And why the show was switched to Hedgehog for Hire as it's title) that LowBrow couldn't upload this series sooner, and why the Machinima logo can still be seen in some episodes, because they are the only versions that basically survived all of this.
It's just my opinion and this is all speculation, but that's why I think it's under-rated. The viewership it's getting now is what it deserved over 10 years ago and never received, even after all the BS the show and LowBrow had to go through.

So much top-shelf dialogue and delivery. The stutters, the inflection, the creative portmanteaus of filthy slang - unmatched. This series is genuinely hilarious and bursting with nostalgic references filtered through a mature lens, which culminates perfectly as a testament to the late greats and modern, crude pop-culture critique a la Family Guy. These dudes clearly know how to have a good time, and seem like they’d just be an absolute blast to hang out with. You can tell just how important and impactful the “Golden Age” of gaming was to so many of us through these skits. A monumental ‘thank you’ for this critical piece of satirical comedy that serves as an account of how one of the most influential video game icons rose to, and fell from prominence; an experience those of us who grew up when titles like these were at the forefront will have burned into our psyches for life.
I personally think (first time (bing) watching this series) that the characters didn't get enough personalities or character to them. For example, Kirby, mother brain, sonic (like literally just be a ass and murder), Eggman, etc. The characters were bland, but they had repetitive themes that made the episode unexciting for me. There was potential for a majority of characters to make some episodes go more indebt just the same theme for each one. When the characters felt bored or meaningless, I did, too. I don't experience humor very well, so the jokes didn't really make me laugh. I love Kirby, zelda, and sonic but it was dissapointing with how lame the characters tended to be. What made the characters themselves special, hardly showed up in the episodes besides as a sex joke or to mock/make fun of character design.
This clearly isn't meant for you, that's all. If you're not relating to the humor and expecting each character to be accurately represented (which they are - Kirby sucks stuff, Sonic goes fast and Link knows how to get around) like they are in their original video games (they couldn't even speak in their original releases, so I don't know where you're getting this idea of "character" from) then you're probably just too young to "get it" anyway. For those who understand *all* the references, including those outside of video games, this is peak comedy.@@bingolinging
