North Texas here. You know the animals feel immediate relief. The guys probably have the knowledge to treat many hoof issues on farm animals from years of experience. Great job!
Things like this can crop up faster than you think, dermatitis like this can spread and grow out of control within a week or two. Since most beef cows won't let you touch on them like dairy cows do, it's hard to see anything when it's small. Add to that the fact that cows won't act lame until the infection or injury is well advanced and you have something like this.
In the US we would call it “proud flesh”. The body was trying to heal itself and over produced flesh. Kinda like if a person had an ingrown toenail and they got extra skin grow up around the nail.
Stop talking and fix it!!, please!! I was so incredibly sad for this farm baby. It must have been in an incredible amount of pain…..how could the owner let it get SO bad????? I thank you for helping this baby and I pray it will have a full recovery!! 🙏🏻❤️👍🏼
Not so in all countries. When poor and nowhere near the cities, one needs to learn and apply this with own animals. These guys have had some training and able to get medicine easy enough. They have decades of experience and keep up to date best they can. When you get less than $60 - $70 week, with a family you have to decide who eats and who doesn't. Of course Vets are the best choice. Unfortunately you don't see to many of them driving around the countryside offering help for a night's accom or dinner. Like Dentists. They're so hard to get in to for apps. And charge an arm and a leg - oh well, you'll have a nice smile as you role home.
God bless you for taking such care with these poor animals. I am so happy they have you to take care of them. You are a special person! Horse owner Watching from San Tan Valley, Arizona!
@miko362 duh! The farrier isn't the one that has been neglecting the horse, clearly the owner is and he is a dick. I've owned horses my entire life and have seen all kinds of neglect, but it isn't the farriers fault. He is helping the horse, so why would I make a crappie comment about him? I'm grateful that the owner is finally doing something positive to help the poor horse.
@miko362 thank you for the credit, but I was simply illustrating that as a lifelong horse owner I've seen lots of abusive owners, and "owners " was intended to apply to all livestock types. So thanks again, and I knew it was a cow, or a really ugly horse , the horse was an error.😅Duh!
There’s another Farrier I watch…they’re in Ireland. I think. THEY SHOW EVERYTHING!! YOU. NEED. TO. SHOW. EVERYTHING. NO. BLURRING!!!! WE. WANT. TO. SEE. THE. WHOLE PROCEDURE. NO. MATTER. HOW. GROSS. WE CAN ALWAYS TURN AWAY!! FOR ME?? MY HUSBAND IS A FARRIER HERE IN THE USA…HE BLURS NOTHING‼️‼️I THINK THESE PEOPLE WOULD BE FINE!! AND, WANT TO SEE IT ALL!’ AND, YOU DO TALK TO MUCH….JUST TALK LESS & GET DOWN TO BUSINESS‼️‼️ JUST PUT UP A WARNING ⛔️ THIS IS GRAPHIC🤷🏼♀️ THATS WHAT WE DO‼️
The cow seemed to mind her hoof being sprayed more than the removal of the proud flesh. I don't think that it had many nerves in it at all. What surprised me is that there didn't seem to have much blood supply. I was afraid that it would really bleed. Good job.
It’s wrapped up like a boxing glove giving lots of cushion it looks like. I imagine wrapping a block in all that would make things unsteady and cause her to roll her ankle.
They block all interventions, but sometimes there is no time to show it. They clarify this in Portuguese. Note that in the video at 2 minutes he has the anesthetic.
I own horses & our Ferrier does a great job on horse we own has a club foot. This stuff interest me as I’m in the medical field. Paramedic 👨🏻🚒. Near Worc ma. Usa 🇺🇸
Watching from stansbury Park, Utah USA. Love the work you do for these wonderful animals. My husband lived in Brazil.🇧🇷 I lived in Venezuela. So he speaks Portuguese. Mientras yo hablo espanol. Bien hecho, amigos!
Wish you’d explain what you are doing and what parts you are working on as you are working. It’s good to see how much you care about the cows you help . :) 🐄🌷🌱
First time seeing what it looks like when DD gets bad. Wish YT wasn't such a pain about the procedure because I'm still a bit curious how it deforms the hoof horn. Anyone know what the black stuff was though? Wax to keep the bandage on?
Hi, two things: Do you not use blocks to give the cow some relief? Is it too expensive, or not something you use regularly? And I was disappointed that you blurred out the surgery. 😂
Altoona, Iowa USA. I find your videos very interesting and informational. It reminds me of my youth growing up on a pasture farm with, horses, cattle, sheep, goats and pigs.
@@annaclarke7643 I've only seen dairy cows with docked tails sooo maybe the tail gets in the way of the milking process? My best guess is sanitation, imagine going to milk a cow and having a poop covered tail smacking you in the face. I've always had beef cattle so no idea why dairy cows tend to be docked.
Wouldn't a block help the poor girl? I apologize but this doesn't seem like an affective start off healing point. With so much digital dermatitis , the treatment doesn't make sense to me. I own 6000ish head of cattle in Australia. I have never seen so minimal a treatment for an issue so big. Update please. Cheers
@@gingermoore4561 thank you. I have learnt so much researching this. I can not believe how different we do things sometimes. Maybe a bit of overkill down here. 5 generations and still learning, hopefully I never stop learning. Cheers
Sacramento, California US so glad she's getting help that's just awful and those poor creatures can't say anything they just hope to not look weak in the herd. Too bad YT is so lame now I would love to have seen the blurred stuff for educational purposes.
North Texas here. You know the animals feel immediate relief. The guys probably have the knowledge to treat many hoof issues on farm animals from years of experience. Great job!
North Texas here too :)
Viewing from Arkansas USA. Thank you guys for doing what you are doing. God bless you helping these poor animals.
Yes indeed
I agree the surgery is the most interesting and educational it shouldn’t be blurred. Thanks for
I never thought that horses and cows can have a lot of hoof problems, glad there are people can help them.
Che persona intelligente che sei!
Wow! that must've been very painful for a very long time!! But walked away without a limp.
Still had local anesthesia in that leg
Poor girl! Hopefully she feels lots better in a few days after that removal. Thank you Gentlemen. Don’t forget to do an update on her please. ❤️🇦🇺🇧🇷
No hables ta nto que está sufriendo 😮
That looked horrible until he fixed it! Poor things, people REALLY need to care for their animals and not let them get this bad!
You could tell she had been worked on before.
wonder why he didn't put a block on the other claw to keep the pressure off.
This is horrible! How in the hell could a farmer let this happen? Are they fined or something? Thank you so much for helping this poor cow. 🐄🐂🌷🌱
Farmers do all they can to help their animals. I’ve lived on a farm for 55 years and never have I seen a farmer willingly let any animal suffer.
Corporations torture animals, farmers don't. Farmers depend on their critters and care for them. @@lydiaflatt9859
Your comment is so useless, do you think an owner likes it when his cow is injured? Like really? If you don't know what to say just shut up

Calm down sweety. Farmers know how to take care of their cattle.
That looks so much better, thank you for helping this animal! Watching from Florida, US.
That is the largest digital dermatitis I have seen! Wow! Glad this animal got the help it needed.

These guys do a brilliant job but something like this needs a vet.
You would think if it was that bad, you would get a vet and a more sterile atmosphere.

Poor girl! I hope she comes good. Must’ve been awfully painful! Watching from australia
Glad to see you get the grinder out I was thinking we’re going to do it all by hand
I hope we get to see her again also you should invest in a crusher for them to stand up
Any reason why you don’t use a block on the outside claw so you can get the pressure off of that area with digital dermatitis ?
I was also expecting a block to be applied.
He's the expert

Did y’all use any kind of numbing so the cow didn’t feel all of this pane?
