How to Install a Removable Front License Plate Bracket - Sto N Sho on BMW M3 - no front bumper holes

- Tara gets pulled over for having no front license plate and then installs the Sto N Sho removable license plate bracket. This mount does not damage the front bumper and has a quick release latch so that the plate can be removed quickly for photoshoots or car shows.
Sto N Sho bracket: Model no. SNS67 (Upper mount) - not advertised for my 2011 M3 but fit fine!

What's your feedback on driving over speeds of 70mph and higher (like on a highway)? Do you hear any rattling or shaking and is it sturdy? It is absolutely safe at fast speeds. No rattling.
Drilling into your BMW gave me a [momentary] heart attack... won’t lie. But the end result was great! Also have an Alpine White BMW 330i (2020).
I’m currently looking for ways to install a front mount without having to drill.
I avoided drilling for over a year and regret waiting!
Are these vehicle specific? I can't find one for my 2008 bmw e93 convertible, it looks like your bmw

Hey, haven’t seen your channel in a while. Wanted to let you know that were right about owning a Bmw while in college. You told me not to in the comment section of your videos and I went ahead and did it anyway. Turns out I ran into some heavy repair costs 😓. Got myself a 2017 Lexus IS300... god I miss the power though 😭
Aw yeah, they are fun but better after college when you have a good job. I would totally get a Lexus if I need something reliable though. Just focus on school! 👍

I guess for the BMW, the one that you have works well but for the majority of the cars, the Show N Go retractable license plate holder works good too

Wow, sorry to hear about the ticket, I live in B.C. as well it's really dependent on the cop. TBH haven't had one on my car for years even passed by cops etc. I know in B.C. we are suppose to but in provinces like Alberta and Quebec they don't which makes no sense to me why the B.C. government require two. Did they give you a warning?. I do know VPD is a lot harsher but honestly all depends on the police officer. Great video as well way better than putting tow hooks in my opinion stay safe.....👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
No that’s ticket I showed in the video cost over $100. Since then I received a warning in a different city though. Yes it makes no sense that one province away, it’s not required.
@@TVTara The issue I had before on another car was my license plate covers. But honestly nothing else I even have a sun visor tint on my front windshield which is 10-12 inches the Standard is 8 inches I believe. I haven't had any issues. Knock on wood hope it stays that way. But as I said VPD is harsh. RCMP is cool New Westminister PD even Delta. Thank you for the video Tara this is a very cool product I still hate having to pay $85 to avoid an $85 ticket I'd rather register my vehicle in a state that only requires rear license plates before you know it the nanny state will have us mounting license plates on each side of the vehicle they do for tractor trailers

Cool video. I'm just confused about one thing, why would you need to be able to take off your plates in like a second? Why not leave it on the car? And doesn't it make it easy for anyone to just walk up and unclip them and take them? SO confused LMAO !
I do a lot of photoshoots and remove it for privacy reasons. And so far no one has stolen it haha!

Do you need to drill? Is the double-sided tape strong enough to hold everything without the screw?
They sell some models that don’t need drilling. For mine, they advised me I really should drill it. I’m glad I did, as it was super easy and the hole is not even visible so I don’t feel like I “damaged” the car.

It wasn’t metal but a thick plastic, I think.

I have an 07 335i without front license plate now for 7 years and I've never gotten stop for that. I'm in Cali so I don't know if that matters since I don't know where you live. I guess it depends on the cop.

That is a great device, however, there would be no difference in not having a front plate installed vs having the sto n sho if the plate isn't on at the time you're pulled over??? At which point would you have the sto n sho off the car and feel confident that you would not be spotted by law enforcement to stop you for not having your license plate displayed?
You are correct. They may let me go with a warning but yes I would result in a ticket. I do have my plate on when I’m driving around now.
Your cute take a pic of the plate installed and go appeal the ticket in court showing the judge it was corrected and they''ll drop the ticket.

You could first apply the bracket then drill the hole so you don't have to line up the hole to the one drilled I'm bumper ,just a thought

I tried it and didn’t like how it was off center. And the good quality ones were a pain to remove. I need to be able to remove it quickly.

I would go with non-drill hole removable license plate holder - they clip into the grill.
Doesn’t sound like you can remove it quickly though. This one takes a second only.
Why blur the plate for online.. when people see your plate way more on the street than online
Because people on the street don’t know who I am. I have online stalkers. Those people can find out where I live through my plate if they tried hard enough.

Watched the video, really liked the product but I can't trust adhesive to hold my plate (I refuse to drill a hole). So USmillworks tow plate was the way to go for me. Its pricey but its super sturdy.
For two years I also didn’t want to drill a hole but I’m so glad I finally did as you can’t even see it. I just didn’t like the way tow hook brackets make the front of the car not symmetrical.
Is there a way to lock it? Seems like it makes it easy to steal the license plate.
No, but someone would have to know how it works to pull it out. I’ve had mine on for a long time now with no issues.

I know people who didn’t drill. The company really advised me to. Honestly I’m glad I did and I wish I did it sooner. You can’t see the hole at all and it’s tiny but the plate is so stable.

@@TVTara Just unfortunate for me as caught a red light. He was parked on the side of the road just up ahead so he had all day to look. I knew he was going to pull me over because as I waited on the light I could see his brake lights come on and the blip of the reverse light. It's a fix-it ticket + $10 fine. But still I gotta spend some money on a bracket.

It's not really sexist, the guy was just being friendly after giving bad news (i.e. a fine). He pulled over a pretty asian woman driving a BMW convertible without a front plate; it would be more likely than not that she wasn't into turning wrenches.
For instance, a few months ago my old man helped his Chinese neighbor reverse her manual hatchback that was stuck against the garage wall; once he'd moved it she realised that when it jumped forward, it stalled and she couldn't make it move again because the car wasn't actually running. That's the kind of person the cop would encounter on a daily basis, cut him some slack lol.

@@TVTara ill probably drill underneath the bottom of the bumper then and mount it all the way at the bottom, I feel like the drill and holder will be noticed under the lip on the mid bumper. Thanks for the reply!

Take a look if you’re front bumper looks like mine. Their website said it didn’t make it for our cars but I looked at lots of pictures and measures it and insisted to them that it will fit when they said it wasn’t for my car. It’s model sns67.

Sadly I got pulled over for not running a front license plate also. I went ahead and ordered a front tow hook license plate bracket and after it’s been on the car for a while it’s really grown on me.
I just didn’t want to drill into my cars bumper because I take it to car shoes often and love the clean look
