+heedtheninja67 I for one second wanting to see Spencer sing through marigold (or any track from periphery 3 for that matter, remain indoors possibly). Also a lot can be learned about technique from watching vocalists perform up close and in a relaxed studio setting. Your comment on the supposed stupidity of Spencer doing a vocal run of the song completely contradicts the idea of wanting to see anything be performed by any musician be it online or live. If the whole world viewed music performance as narrowly as you do we would all just stay home and listen to the album. Take this concept a step further and ask, why learn songs, why play songs, why even play an instrument, it is these narrow minded beliefs of the common public that will lead to a complete collapse of creative art and cultural development. If you look back to the dawn of man millions of years ago, there is one constant in our evolution, art and creativity. From Cave paintings to P3 we can see that art fuels evolution.

P3 is easily your best work so far. I love what you said in your making-of documentary about not making music for fans or for anybody else but instead going with what you feel and what you hear. And that's exactly why we love you guys!
The trempicked stuff with the delay really make it shine, sounds epic as hell. This song has a great neoclassical vibe about it plus the trempicked delay melody reminds me of one of my favorite bands, caliban. I prefer the instrumental version for sure.
I've learned the riff fine but also struggled playing it full speed. Believe it or not, it's the hardest part of the song for me. The trick is not letting your hand/wrist fatigue and I think I have discovered the secret: relax the hell out of your hand and let your motions be fluid. Press the strings down only as much as you need to achieve the note. As you're moving and stretching, make sure your thumb on the back of the neck is super loose when moving but when planted, keep it as central to the shape your fingers are extending to as this will limit how much stretching you actually have to do to reach a fret. I'm not sure if this makes sense, it's easier to demonstrate in person but don't let the speed and shape switching intimidate you, causing you to tense; focus on relaxing that hand and pressing down lightly but accurately. This technique has helped me learn the entire song (cover coming soon, hopefully) but also helped IMMENSELY with the wild shapes and sliding.
To Misha and all the Periphery guys: I discovered you in a guitar magazine in jail. True story. If you can only imagine, there's not much to do in there and one of the other inmates happened to be receiving a subscription to some kind of Music Magazine. I don't remember which one at the moment. Ryan did it better!! ;)
Thanks pal!
+Misha Mansoor omg it's the real him 😮😮
+Misha Mansoor Just curious, can you sweep pick?
watch the outro, there is sweep picking in it.
IMHO, this is one of the most perfect examples of virtuosity that incorporates a melody with technical prowess. I absolutely love this song. It is amazing!
I have to say, this is the best cover I've seen yet. You would make a great 4th guitarist. :)
Jeremy Duhon is this serious?
Inspiring!
It's funny, misha, you're obviously an amazing player, but it's listening to these instrumentals that you realise how good spencer is. Periphery III - Definitely his best album so far!
My definite favorite on the album! Thanks, Misha! I'll be waiting for Matt's playthrough!
Nice cover bro
I love this song and playthrough. Im just starting my own channel, and periphery has inspired me greatly.
One of the best guitar writers in our generation
Not the biggest fan of periphery but I do have to say Misha, you're one amazing guitarist and I love this instrumental
Misha's new hairstyle makes him look like a chocobo
misha is so cool!! he inspired this guy a lot!!
I like Spencer and everything but god damn I enjoy the hell out of the instrumentals!
4:00 got Misha looking for the Floyd Rose bar like it was Where's Waldo. Awesome song, one of my favorites. McLaren gas money!
YAY! Instrumental version!
LOVE the band member playthroughs

conductor misha best misha
that is one of the most perfect, beautiful guitar riff I have ever heard
The first song of Periphery i've heard and i love it. Then i heard with vocals and went back to this video haha.
The vocals are epic. Go back again.
This deserves much more than 2.1M views.
The Music of the year 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
one of the best songs by one of the best bands
Misha bro this is soo fucking solid
OMG YOU ADJUSTED YOUR PICKING TECHNIQUE!!!! THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY!!!
How & why does this video have 40 thumbs-down?!
I'm not familiar with the song but that was some pretty sharp rhythm playing. Really like his technique
They're the 40 who broke their wrists trying to play this.
I think it because he's holding the plectrum properly. XD
I saw them live in September 2019 and they played this while the bassist of veil of maya was playing xbox in a room above the balconies in the venue and it was a life altering experience.
Look at that picking posture. Dude played years with the passing the joint posture and he kills with the "proper" posture lol
1 million views! Congratulations!!!
It's good to see Matthew Patel made a full recovery after being beaten by Scott Pilgrim.
😂😂😂
I'm glad people still remember scott pilgrim
This is just masterful songwriting...What a beast!
it feels weird looking at misha hold a pick "the right way".
Man you make it look so effortless. I love it.
3:38 "Welp, back to it..."
This is still one of my favorite Periphery riffs. One day I hope to write something this incredible.
