@@JCykk this was definitely one of his worst performances I've ever seen, probably because he wasn't used to tour anymore, if you check older live out you will find out how good he is
Yeah, I like that his mic stand is positioned normally too, for some reason he used to have it at the back of the stage, facing the side, which I found super awkward.
He never did them on Marigold though. He said that he do not like doing vocals and do not like his voice when he is singing or something like that. But it seems that he can finally enjoy doing vocals and he sounds so good honestly
@@rain_kd_kd1 I read that too. If you look at older live videos of them, Jake's mic is back by the drum kit, facing center stage (Slipknot's Paul Gray had a similar position for his mic). Def looks like he's gained confidence--I LOVE his voice!
I hated the guitarists not being seen shredding at the end... Little did I know, camera guy knew better than I. Drummer fucking murdered in the last 30 seconds. Thank you, camera guy. You're the real hero.
I just don't understand how anyone can effortlessly play that riff, live, standing up, and hit each note so well. Like, just... superb picking technique, for real. I respect live performers so much.
He definitely can, what you're missing is that they are outdoors so the acoustics are different. When you're playing indoors (which Periphery primarily does) there are slightly different techniques that you employ for vocals because the acoustics are different. I'm actually impressed at his ability to adapt so quickly on the fly to a different environment. However I have seen them live and I can assure you he absolutely kills his vox live indoors
I saw them as an instrumental 3 piece with Jake, Misha, and Matt (Mark was on hiatus and Spencer was sick) and they still sound awesome. It was quite a unique experience.
@@fondfarewell2 Yeah but its a backing track, not a live performance. And considering the bass is not only the foundation but the bridge between rhythm and melody, the live music really suffers.
i saw them live and i don't remember any minute or song this is the worst band i've seen live like there is nothing to see except dudes playing stupidly hard songs with no energy
Turns out when your audience is being boring, then your show also ends up rather boring. Crazy huh? Like, they barely even sang along to the chorus where it's clearly meant for the crowd to sing along. Meanwhile when I saw them live the entire crowd was in sync during EVERY chorus. Jumping around and everything. The crowd matters for the energy of a show just as much as the people performing do.
@@justsomeguy727 I don't disagree that the crowd can change the energy. But at the same time if the band is playing like dead fish then crowd won't get hyped.
Misha needs to fire the other two guitarists and the singer, and hire back Nolly on bass and find a decent UA-camr singer, there's many UA-camrs who can sing better than this guy. The resulting band will sound a lot fatter and their paychecks will be bigger too.
It does my guitarist heart good to hear that Misha is actually human, that last chorus is so freaking hard to play perfectly
Dude! I totally get what you mean. I felt the same way. I still can't play those arpeggios cleanly.
Abim Finger cover.
@@manolobueno1319🤌🤌🤌
Yea Misha himself has admitted that part is ungodly difficult to play standing up / live. This type of thing really puts that into perspective.
There's something uncanny about seeing Periphery outdoors.
The sould remain indoors ,right?
RIGHT?
Cuz they’re such gamers haha
Same thought
+1
Saaaaaaaaame thought when I clicked on it.
It's so satisfying when a singer hit the high notes.
I mean I can't do it but he's not clean at all haha.
Check out Protest the hero's live performances.
well, it's obviously weak vocal performance, especially for clean vocals

jake is getting so good at backing vocals

Such an incredible song, can’t wait for the P5 documentary 💪

I've loved Periphery since I seen em in 2013. Phenomenal experience
They should be headlining arena shows by now
Came here to see Mark Holcomb's new PRS Signature SE guitar. Awesome !
Yeah 😅
Matt is such a power horse! So so good!
It was so amazing 😭😭
damn they play so clean sound good
Great song, Periphery rocks!!🤘
Dude i want jake to sing on a song for the next album, he's actually great
i cant imagine playing this song live anyday..be it with a baand(big eyes)

after covering periphery vocals in my spare time i'm glad to see spencer cant do the high parts first time either

Definitely not their strongest performance, but I can’t blame them TOO much after not playing live for well over two years
Oh wow, makes sense. Also the mix may not have been good to boot. Tough to know on youtube...

da boi bryan from belmont in the back

❤❤❤
Is that Brian Lada from Belmont in the back?
Nice to see Jerry Garcia alive and well. Also tf is on your feel, Spencer?
can we just talk about Jake's vocals for a second?
Periphery should be an only studio band
Jake got pipes though!
