he never stayed in one place long....he never abandoned this era, that live album is about all the Banshees i can take. her finest moment, on Bill Grundy with the Pistols.
I totally agree with your point of view this my friend Besides I was just a year punk then I'm still of course! Since then I have been listening to other types of music such as Post Punk Darkwave and Gothic!
you're right, This is the best way to play the song. But the cure has had over 40 years of great music since then. They really have had a remarkable career, and they're still going. How may of their contemporaries are still playing? I'm not talking about some reunion tour after 30 years either. The Cure have been playing and producing albums non-stop since 1979.
this could've been a completely different band if Robert Smith hadn't played with the Banshees. Robert in the early days wanted The Cure to be like The Buzzcocks and Elvis Costello. I like both Simon Gallup and Michael Dempsey's playing style. The Cure always had a prominent bassline
thye were a punk band for a few solid years..some classic stuff, and evolved several times over the years...but Smith never abandoned that era and was more laid back than people took him.
I love this version of the song. So full of life, so energetic! And that part when Robert exagerates with "drip" i absolutely love it. Amazing version of the song.
I was a teenager and I was hypnotised and mesmered by the unic haunting sound of the CURE and the beautiful Robert Smith. I was only 13 or 14 years old. And I always love The CURE forever and ever !
Same generation, our love is getting higher. He has remained faithful to his wife met when he was 14. An exceptional artist whose drug is perfect music
I've got underwear that's older than Robert in this video, yet even at this early age he kills it. Having a clear defined vision of how he was going to take over.
In fact, may be the greatest version if this great song ! Wow ! I was 13 and now I'm 56. And I love their energy and faith in Music and Fame ! Winners ! Congrats !!!
What a great talent R. Smith is is. I have never seen him so young, about the first time I bought their first records. The Cure never disappoint me. So many years later I keep enjoying their music, sad or happy.
Slowly or speedy this song is still one of their so many masterpieces ! Love the way they were performing at these times. Wow I was only 13 years old ! Now I'm 56 I do still love all their songs. I discover their early days through your videos clips. Thanks a lot for.
Raw energy ! Great bassline ! Angry and hungry beautiful young Robert Smith ! Today (7 mars 2022) and I do still listen to their musical legacy ! They are legends !
Wow ! I was surfing on UA-cam & found this precious rarety version of "10 fithteen saturday night " ! I'm happy to discover this ! Young and speed Rob Smith and the CURE ! Thanks a lot for !
Early days of "fame " of The CURE. Rare version. Love it. Who could imagine these young men became so famous and Timeless through the years ? Now they are legends. And Simon Gallup is very famous for his great bassline ! Robert Smith 's voice is still haunting and unic ! (14 mars 2022). Peace on Earth
This performance is amazing, and I love the bass playing. That said, you can see how Dempsey wasn't right for the minimalist direction the band would take.
Robert Smith was so young and brilliant ! So beautiful Without his make up when he was just a young man ! 2022 Robert Smith is still a brilliant artist. Love The CURE 's musical legacy ! (Friendly from France)
This is the most punk I've seen them. I've heard their early punk demos, but not seen any footage of them quite like this. Amazing! Any more from this show?
🌞❤😻🎸 Brillant ! They were so young !! 3 Teenagers 3 Imaginary Boys They are like kids, just having fun with their instruments That song is one of my favorites between all their master pieces ❤ I really ❤ The Cure so much Thank's for sharing that early video 🥂
Man, Dempsey has some moves. Very cool to see this, as I'm currently reading about this period in "Never Enough: The Story of The Cure". Thanks for posting it.
Had I heard this back then I would of liked it, straight away! The closest I heard anything like this in 1979 was the Pretenders or The Cars, no Cure played on the radio yet. If I depended on the radio to introduce me to new bands, I’d be sooooooooo out of the loop. Thank God for music apps these days!
This how three young men, all of them 20 years old at time, used to play in 1979... So authentic. When you see bands today, almost 40 years later, you musk ask yourself: Where is this genuine geniality gone?
Great footage,, i seen them round about this time, in bournemouth, i thik it was at the village bowl venue they were suportig the original banshees, just before the drummer ad guitarist walked out. I later seen the cure in 1980 in Germany at the new wave scala in Herford,, with the passions ( i think ) suporting,, what a great night that was!
+Schnell John Did you see them at the Bournemouth Town Hall too? The infamous gig where some guy who had something to do with 'Vague Fanzine' lost part of his ear in a fight? It was reported as being 'bitten off' although this is not true. I think a bottle or pint glass was involved! One of my first gigs was Madness/The Specials/Selecter at The Village. I'd have swapped gigs though. I'd loved to have seen The Cure in 1979!
For my personal tastes, these earlier, faster, punkier The Cure performances are better than anything that came later. This video is fantastic.
he never stayed in one place long....he never abandoned this era, that live album is about all the Banshees i can take. her finest moment, on Bill Grundy with the Pistols.

Good deal for Production who put The CURE on ways of fame with their records and their so many tours ! 40 de carrière !!! Mes respects
This is a rarity, probably the only clip of Michael Dempsey actually playing.
Is that the bassist?
@@KELTONWOLFE Yes he was the original bassist which i believe had different views from Robert Smith regarding the band so he left.
@@greyfox4577 what were those different views
@@humanchannel7825 basically michael wanted the cure to sound like XTC and robert wanted the cure to sound more like siouxsie and the banshees
he made the most of it. g'damn.
This band is really cool. I hope they make it big someday.
I hope they get induced into the Hall of Fame! I predict it for them.
I wonder if they'll ever make a song about Friday
Their lead vocalist should really consider applying pale white paint on his face.
The CURE and Robert Smith are so famous all over the world ! Mars 2022
I am sitting on the kitchen sink...And tap....dripps....dripps
this could've been a completely different band if Robert Smith hadn't played with the Banshees. Robert in the early days wanted The Cure to be like The Buzzcocks and Elvis Costello. I like both Simon Gallup and Michael Dempsey's playing style. The Cure always had a prominent bassline
Dario Wirtha Both Dempsey & Gallup influenced my bass playing
Like one of their 'hero bands'...Can
@@garthrallysport I named my 5-string bass SIMON! 😍
Dempsey was the best Cure bass player. I didn't know that Bob loved Buzzcocks (I do).
Dempsey is one of my favorite bass players of all time!
wow a really punk version it's AMAZING!
thye were a punk band for a few solid years..some classic stuff, and evolved several times over the years...but Smith never abandoned that era and was more laid back than people took him.
Love this punky version!
I love this version of the song. So full of life, so energetic! And that part when Robert exagerates with "drip" i absolutely love it.
Amazing version of the song.
Love Dempsey's stage presence.
No one talks about the early line-up. Would "The Cure" be where it is today without the out-the-gates stuff?
Police and Stranglers had a child
Killer bassline. Awesome version.

I'm still in shock that ROBERT didn't fall into the 27 club, or The Dead Frontman curse!
Just love the very early Cure. Those guys rocked!
Agree with you !
I personally love how this is played
me too soo raw and beautifully good
In fact, may be the greatest version if this great song ! Wow ! I was 13 and now I'm 56. And I love their energy and faith in Music and Fame ! Winners ! Congrats !!!
I can't believe this is the very beggining of a Band. Such geniuses!!!
Ahhhhh, not getting to see the end of the song, soo sad!
❤
this is how the song should be played.......fast
The young Robert Smith was so beautiful and full of energy ! I was a teenager and I 'm still a fan of The CURE. Great band.
It was only a couple years later he became a member of the Addams Family and never turned back
If I remember well, this was their first tv appearance ever !
This has to be by far the best version we are likely to see of this great track - what a line up talent wise and what a style they had back then too!
A CRAZY BLOODY GEM !!! LOVE THE YOUNG AND HEALTHY CURE !
No make up. Only young artists with the FAME & THE CARREER we know now (28 mai 2021 ) A french fan of The CURE since I was a teenager !
Ohhh, Michael Dempsey's bass!!!
Cristina Torres exactly he's great
@@lospaisasoriginal5454 But, not as sexy as SIMON! 😍

Love that improv jam at the end, Robert’s guitar playing can be pretty jangly and fun sometimes :)
He is so enjoying this performance. He's smiling. I love this
The smile he makes at 1:13 , he knew then that this was gonna go bonkers

Wonderful song , really really good and Robert Smith have very beautiful Style , very good CURE
Wow I've never seen live footage with Michael Dempsey. Cool!!!
OMG I was only 14 years old ! Fan of The CURE since I was a teenager. And I 'm still. And I 'm crying for yesterday !...
Best version I’ve heard
Robert you are a living legend...
Love from Greece...

Pure energy!! Amazing version!
Gran bajista
Rare to see one with Michael on the bass.
is not Michael... is Phil Thornailey
Sorry, I think it IS Michael Dempsey. Thornailey was years later, after Simon Gallup
Mike was playing bass when I saw my first band - the Cure; supporting the Banshees on the Join Hands tour. Still the loudest gig I have EVER been to.
Is Michael Dempsey in THE CURE , see google pictures
Yes
When they were simply three imaginary boys. A vacuum cleaner, a fridge and a lamp.
exactly, just plain old ordinary household items and nothing special.
actually, they were not - it was a Parry's decision, so, Bob hated this incarnation
It was the beginning of FAME & GREAT CARREER ! When the young Rob Smith is smiling in the beginning he knew he was the winner for a long time.
One of my absolute favourite yt clips ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Magnifique Concert !! Fan de THE CURE depuis 1984!

This live performance is reeeealy good now
