- The Fleet Feet Review team put the new uptempo daily trainer from Brooks to the test. Nitrogen infused with new DNA FLASH v2 cushioning, the Brooks Hyperion Max 2 boasts nearly 10% more energy return than its predecessor.
With an added 4mm of cushioning to the heel and 6mm to the forefoot, a SpeedVault Plate for quick transitions and the DNA FLASH v2 foam, the Fleet Feet Review team found it was great for runners looking to train consistently - or to race - in a shoe that has more protective cushioning.

I’ve been predicting this shoe to be a banger since it showed up at TRE. I don’t even like Brooks.
But I just tried them on and ran in them…and bought them 😎
I LOVED the max 1
HM2 vs E Speed 4 vs Valkyrie Speedworks vs DN3 vs Magic Speed 4 :) 🎉🎉🎉
Looking to compare this new Hyperion Max 2 to a Hoka Mach X or NB Rebel v4
Appreciate this! Get mine in the mail tomorrow and running a tempo workout asap!
Woohoo! - Brandon
great concise overview.., it has me thinking about it.., I may have to try them on
Thank you! It’s a fun one for sure. - Brandon
Hey Brandon , Hyperion Max 2 vs Superblast 2. Like one over the other?
Can you compare it to sc trainer v3, reviewed recently. Assuming that they are in the same group of uptempo trainers. Which plate is more flexible and forgiving? Thanks
Really love the Speed4 and boston 12. Would this be very similar ?
Great review, I found the Hyperion Max 1 long and narrow midfoot.. Actually went down half a size... But then got the narrow midfoot.. How is the fit of V2? The sidewalls in the midfoot area worry me.. ⚠️
The fit of the upper was pretty spot on for our review team. I had no issues with the midfoot being too narrow. - Brandon
I'm curious to see how the Max 2 compares to the Hyperion 2. I liked the Max v1. It was a really fast feeling shoe but a touch softer might have been nice.
The Max 2 is a touch softer but still that fast feeling shoe! - Brandon
I thought you are from Believe in the Run?
If I was a brand putting out a super trainer, I would make sure their's at least a 6 mo. separation period launch date between this shoe and the Asics Superblast 2. The Asics Superblast 2 will surely suck up all the oxygen in the room.
