Richter premiered this work 41 years earlier. Natalia Gutman & Sviatoslav Richter playing Prokofiev's Cello Sonata, op. 119, live at the Pushkin Museum in 1991.

Wonderful thank you very much. I've never heard Richter perform. It must have been 1994 or 1995 and both were scheduled to perform in Berlin in the Kammermusiksaal. When trying to order tickets I was told Richter had cancelled due to ill health. This was one of the pieces of the program. I regret until today that this concert never happened. Thanks for that small compensation.

Certainly this is a most precious video. But the sound has a hidden low frequency vibration that I find hard on my ears. Particularly noticeable in the cello part. Was the original also this way?

It's more than that, the sound is completely distorted at times, maybe a conversion issue or the original recordong is saturated.
