@@tobototokiit’s not legitimately confirmed, but I believe Todo activated his curse technique when Mahito’s hand connected with his stomach but before idle transfiguration could be used, he flexed his abs to make the clap sound off of Mahito’s 3rd hand so he could swap with the sword in Mahito’s right hand) if that’s the case then he might only need to make the sound of applause and it doesn’t necessarily have to come from his hands, tough to say because Todo’s technique is simple, he’s less likely to reveal all the information about it (i.e. him shushing itadori in season 1 when he ‘revealed his hand’ to hanami but he wasn’t being completely truthful with his reveal)
The other theory would be he released both blades and clapped his hands quick enough to replace the right one before it hit him, but that they didn’t animate his clap
Or we have the booty cheeks thunderclap head canon, I’m fine with any of the 3 😂
@tobototoki It's gonna be great when it gets animated, both times Todo coming in to pick Yuji back on his feet when shit hits the fan, great call back. They just better play the same music as this episode

Yuji is the only one hurting mahito soul right here that’s why he calls him his natural enemy….todo does zero damage but he is helping with the movement and boosting Yuji spirit from being so down.
